Yes Ryan Clady, all game long, plus assorted others. Maybe they got stickem on their hands OR Chargers got it on their uniforms.

But that's no excuse for all of our offsides.

They thought they were embarrassed on Monday, if this pans out, how embarrassing to not have won the game. But then again we had that SF game two years ago. But at least we weren't up 24 pts only to lose by double digits. LOL

:spit:I think the stick substance they had all over them was from Peyton Manning because he raped them in the second half.

They wern't using it in the game. It was to get their fairweather fans to stick around.

I do not Think the chargers would that, they are good so you have to be wrong about this.a good team would not do this , and I just read that Denver just won the AFC West , the season is not over yet so I do not think that as well.I know the chargers would not cheat at any game in the NFL.

Stick 'Em..... 60% of the time it works all the time!

:spit:

Seriously though, I would like to know when the side judge spotted the illegal substance and confiscated it. I am just curious as I don't think it had any impact on the play. The defense got to Phyllis and the guy is a scared coward when you get any kind of hit on him.

Why would they risk getting caught over stickem...you can't wear too much of it or it would be obvious. Did they really think it's an advantage. Bunch of bozos!

Well apparently they were trying to be sneaky. Per Pro Football Talk an equipment guy brought out a towel and for some reason something caught the eye of an official. He grabbed the towel and gave it to the Broncos for them to see and then to the league.

I will have to go back and look at the timeouts on the DVR and see if anything pops out. Damn commercial breaks make seeing this stuff hard though!

It is in the rule book that stickum type substances are illegal and punishable by the forfiture of draft choice(s).

I do not remember where i read that, but I believe it is listed like that. I'm sure there will be a fine on top of it and I am sure it will cost Turner and his staff their jobs.

EDIT:

If found guilty, the Chargers will face a very stiff fine and could even be forced to forfeit draft picks. Of course, the severity of the punishment comes down to how many people knew about what was going on and how long it had been happening.

Thanks I've been busy watching red zone all day and not spending time here..

this caught my eye A Chargers equipment man was seen hiding a possible illegal sticky substance and giving to players. A line judge saw it and had it confiscated and sent to the Broncos and the league.

I wonder at what point in the game the line judge did this..

Maybe at half time that would explain (partly) their collapse..

That is what I was wondering, when did this happen? I still think the collapse had more to do with Phyllis Rivers wetting himself after the first hint of contact from the D. But would like to know when this was caught.

IF this was orchestrated (and known) by the team the way the other two were, I'd consider this worse. With the other two, there might have been some small advantage but the players still had to play the game. This is on the same level as team-wide steroid use or something in my book. This is cheating on the field where the others couldn't have the same impact.

Was the game truly that lopsided at the half? 17 points were the direct conclusion of 2 special teams turnovers deep in Denver territory and a pick 6. The defense was truly only at fault for one score. No **** ups in the first half and that game is tied at 7 going to halftime.

Even down 24 it is difficult to say that at any time San Diego was taking it to Denver. It really isn't the collapse it is being made out to be.

I hope they don't - not until the division is out of reach.

When teams fire their HC, there is usually a bounce in on-field production. The Chargers best hope, IMO, is to fire Norv right now to set up a story-book run for the interim coach.

Well, I don't think any interim HC has ever made such a run. That's not really so important to me though. I'm looking towards the future rather than this year.

It won't happen though. Spanos is too gutless to make such a bold move. If he was, he would have fired him last Tuesday.

I remember almost 40 years ago in Pop Warner an assistant coach spraying our hands with some stickem. I didnt know why, because I barely got the ball being fullback and playing defensive end. I know the first time I hit the ground I had grass & dirt caked on my hands and I couldnt get it off. I remember thinking wtf. I'm sure the Chargers had stickem and ez-off too..

“Cheater is a big word,” Phillips said. “I’ve seen a lot of cheating in the NFL. I don’t know that you could consider the use of Stickum to be cheating. But it always sucks because you never want to be cast as a cheater. All you have to do is keep playing and doing what you’re doing. Let people say what they have to say and take care of your own business.” - Shaun Phillips
