Oregon teams combine for state record 172 points, with winner scoring 106
Don't ask the Klamath Falls (Ore.) Triad School football team if it was trying to set a scoring record in racking up 106 points during the squad's victory on Friday night. It wasn't. Rather, they were just trying to keep in front of a hard charging Elkton (Ore.) High squad, which scored 66 points of its own.
Between the two teams, 172 points were scored in an eight-man football game, setting a state record for points in a single game. As reported by the Oregonian, Triad won the game with 106 points and could have even scored more were it not for coach Kyle Petrik's decision to take a knee on the game's final four plays with Triad holding the ball inside the Elkton 1-yard line.
