Fool, NO ONE has ever advocated 'trickle down' economics. That's a misnomer that your media hacks have contrived. If you know anything about how investment in an economy actually happens, you'd realize the non-sensical nature of the term.
and yes, i know even GOP'ers have used this term in the past but also have misrepresented it badly. Do yourself a favor and google 'Thomas Sowell'. The guy's a national treasure and you should familiarize yourself with the way things ARE in an economy, not how they should be.

Who the hell do you think you ?
A liar obviously, just like Romney about his tax plan adds up, his healthcare plan that doesn't exist takes care of preexisting conditions when it don't..................THIS IS TRICKLE DOWN AT ITS FINEST.
cALL it what you will but giving to those at the top and HOPING it makes it way to those below them is the exact definition of trickle down.

I've already posted a thread explaining there is no such thing as an economic theory called "trickle down," and that there IS evidence showing that another type of economics works which COMBINES tax cuts with spending cuts.
These rant threads are idiotic and belong in the Butt.

Good luck breaking the illiterate liberal iceberg. They've been regurgitating the "trickle down" nonsense like chewed cud for many decades.
I knew it was a good read when I saw Sowell's name on it. He's like me - an ex-Marxist that turned. What I like best about his stuff is the way he simplifies economic topics for the layman reader. Of course being a black conservative means he is a "Tom," thus must be ignored by default.
As quoted in that piece, Woodrow Wilson spoke just like a Republican about taxation :
The Congress might well consider whether the higher rates
of income and profits taxes can in peace times be effectively
productive of revenue, and whether they may not, on the contrary,
be destructive of business activity and productive of waste and
inefficiency. There is a point at which in peace times high rates of
income and profits taxes discourage energy, remove the incentive to
new enterprise, encourage extravagant expenditures, and produce
industrial stagnation with consequent unemployment and other
attendant evils.
Sowell then correctly mentions the role media spin play in the results of lowering taxes:
Even when empirical evidence substantiates the arguments made
for cuts in tax rates, such facts are not treated as evidence relevant to
testing a disputed hypothesis, but as isolated curiosities. Thus, when tax
revenues rose in the wake of the tax rate cuts made during the George
W. Bush administration, the New York Times reported: “An unexpectedly
steep rise in tax revenues from corporations and the wealthy is driving
down the projected budget deficit this year.”57 Expectations, of course,
are in the eye of the beholder. However surprising the increases in tax
revenues may have been to the New York Times, they are exactly what
proponents of reducing high tax rates have been expecting, not only from
these particular tax rate cuts, but from similar reductions in high tax
rates at various times going back more than three-quarters of a century.
But let's leave out such inconvenient truths, shall we?

Okay. So in that case, jobs must have climbed after Bush cut all those taxes.

Hmmm. I guess not. What did the rich use all that money for if not to create jobs? Ah! They probably raised wages on workers because productivity went up.

[E]conomic theory is unambiguous that holding taxes constant and reducing marginal rates will increase growth. But it is important to understand that this effect is neither large nor instantaneous. At best, it will raise the long-term trend rate of growth by perhaps tenths of a percent. With compounding, the effect can eventually be large. But the idea that tax reform will jump-start an economy suffering from the after-effects of a cyclical downturn is nonsense. http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/10/16/romneys-tax-plan-and-economic-growth/

Democrats just don't believe that the richest should pay less tax then a janitor. Don't you get it? Nah, of course you don't. You hear what you want to hear. Same ole'

LOL, while you believe just taxing the rich doesn't trickle down to all, which history shows it does. But it won't the next time. Yikes. What a genius.

Funny - most right-wingers on this board write at about a fifth-grade level.
However, when you call them on their grammatical or spelling errors, they accuse you of nit-picking, pettiness, etc.
No surprise these are the same hypocrites who rant about immigrants who refuse to learn English when they don't bother to learn it themselves.

I'm retired but still own a business that has a solid track record for the past 3 decades. I did quite well during the Regan, Clinton and Bush years. The only rough times were during the Carter years when I bought a new house in Denver at a 12% interest rate which was excellent at the time. I had friends that bought homes at 18%.
I now spend most of my time trying to Obama proof my retirement fund. I'm lucky that I have access to an excellent heath care plan that doesn't fall under any Obama Care restrictions and rules.
I've been married for 37 year and a son and a daughter that are both very successful in life. My son has been a member of the OM since its beginning and still posts on a regular basis but never on the WRP.

Dems don't get that businesses are going to hit their profit margin. If you tax them, they offset that tax cost by raising prices on their goods and services. That means the consumer pays more, or worse, doesn't buy it and the economy slows.
But hey! We have set records for putting people on food stamps this year! Maybe we can just get 25% of the country on food stamps! That's compassion! ::)

this is exactly why raising taxes is a bad idea.

Yes, "slowly move the taxes down" to people who are hardly considered rich. That is a great strategy for sure in this time of high unemployment.

The point, which is obviously lost on you, is that even some conservative economists admit there's no way to reduce the debt without raising taxes on your beloved kleptocrats.
