I mean, we all know every game is a toss up with these refs, but let's assume legitimate NFL games.

Vs. Oak - W
@ NE - Close game, but I think we can W
@ SD - W
Vs. NO - Depends if NO gets its groove back, otherwise easy W
@ Cin - W
@. CAR - W
Vs. SD - W
@ KC - W
Vs. TB - W
@ Oak - W
@ Bal - L
Vs. CLE - W
Vs. KC - W

I think we could very easily make it to 11-5. Sure we might drop a game here or there, but we have 10 very winnable games left.

I predicted 9-7 and 1st in the AFC West and I'll stick with that. So far Denver is about where I thought they would be.

Although the schedule does look a little more manageable. Panthers, Pats and Saints do not look as tough as we might have thought at begining of season and I think Denver's OL and Defense look better than what I thought they would be.

I think 9-7 right now is best case scenario unfortunately.

That is a very optimistic projection, but I hope you're right.

As with any season, I think we will win a couple games we should lose, and lose a couple we should win. I'm hoping for 9-7 and a playoff birth. Hopefully by January, our team will have gelled and we'll be able to make some noise in the playoffs.

When was the last time...we won both games against KC..So much bias in your prediction..

@NE - W...:spit:
@SD - W...:spit:

I see this team no different than last years team..
Last year ..we won games due to some fluke..not going to happen this year..
Just look forward to next year

I agree with this 3-3 is what we should be after 6 games. I'm not very confident we are playing well enough right now to win 2 of the next 3 though. You can't play 1 qtr and expect to win very often.

Vs. Oak - W [Horrible team]
@ NE - Pickem [NE is not playing great, this is not the NE of old but it is on their turf]
@ SD - W [This is the same team that got steamrolled by Atlanta at home]
Vs. NO - W [No defense at all]
@ Cin - W [This is going to be a tough win IMO]
@. CAR - W [Um, no]
Vs. SD - W [**** You San Diego]
@ KC - W [Stop Charles, stop the Chiefs]
Vs. TB - W [Defense is good, offense is mediocre. We can win this game at home]
@ Oak - W [Horrible Team]
@ Bal - L

Worst case 11-5, best case 13-3.

Still leaning towards 9-7 which is what I went with at the beginning of the year. Though I think losing the next 3 games is a real possibility, in which case 8-8 would be a pretty good finish.

I think playoffs depends on what the Chargers do...

10-6 first round loss in the playoffs so 10-7 and so far nothing much besides stats to show for bringing in payaton still 3 years left if he dont retire or gets a career ending injury but tebow isnt good enough to start,
really we could of drafted a qb but we got payaton and every other team in the nfl wanted him too . so at least they dont got payaton we do ha

Pretty much been the Achilles heal of this defense for what seems like the entire 21st Century.

Getting off of the field on third down is probably the 2nd most important defensive statistic other than turnover diff.

I will stay with my original number of 9 to 10 wins. We cant play Faiders every weekend so I need to take that into account. I will agree, we will win the division. I would love to sweep the division but to beat a good team on the road like New England would be epic.

razorwire77

Still think 10-6 is where we're at. The Raiders are horrible and let's not forget that the first half of this game was pretty damn frustrating. The 2nd half was the best half of football I've seen probably since 98 or 99.

What it really comes down to is how effectively teams can get pressure on Manning. Today he was hardly touched and receivers were running unmolested against a terrible secondary. With this year's schedule, that's not going to happen unless they're playing the Raiders, Chefs, and maybe the Saints. Good news is two of those three teams are in the west.

Oh they're all winnable, but after Houston and Atlanta, hell even the first half of today, I think you could say they're all losable as well. They had a great game today, but it was only one game. We are 2-2 for a reason.

BroncoFanDoug
09-30-2012, 06:39 PM
We are 2-2 for a reason.

One reason is that our 2 losses were against 2 of the top 5 teams in the NFL (and we were competitive). Another reason is that PM is still shedding dust and playing with a new team.

There is no reason not to be pretty optimistic at this point imho. At the beginning of the season I felt a 2 and 2 start would be great and lead to a 10-6 or 11-5 season, and here we are. Sure would like to get 1 of the next 2.

Today's 2nd half is basically the blueprint for beating NE. Denver has to control the possession clock, run more plays, don't turn the ball over and keep Gronk, Brady, etc., off of the field as much as possible. That means getting off of the field on 3rd and 5, 3rd and 7 etc. NE's defense is vulnerable. Denver can score points against them. However, I think we lose a track meet, or if we try to play from behind. Get a lead, work the clock, establish a decent tempo on offense.

I say 9-7 or 10-6. This is the toughest schedule I can remember....it's one SOB!

I do think our offense....is going to bet better and better. We loose Walton...thank God for Koppen....and we will be getting Kuper back! Plus we are getting Hillman some playing time....this offense is one of the best.

Defense....We need better push up the middle. I'm really at a loss, in terms of understanding why this team always overlooks the middle of the defense. Wolf was a great pick...but, not getting a Legit DT in the first couple of rounds....mistake!

If I were the GM......my focus would be:

1. A Ray Lewis/Al Wilson type MLB
2. A Ed Reed/Steve Atwater/DS type Safety
3. A Seymour/Ngata/Raji...type DT

I do agree that those are positions of need, but honestly we really aren't as bad in the middle of our defense as you are acting. We're only allowing 87.5 rushing yards per game and giving up a mere 3.4 yards per carry.
