This makes them look even worse. If simultaneous catch IS reviewable in the end zone, they blew it both on the field and in the booth.

Jennings has two hands on the ball with it clutched against his chest, and Tate has one hand wedged in Jennings armpit: Tate's other hand has no contact with the football. There is NO WAY that can be considered simultaneous possession.

Basically, "we know its ****ed up but we wont do anything about it because it would be bad for the NFL to acknowledge what a screw job this is while we are trying to stick it to the regular officials."

They have to uphold this call. If they changed it then every bonehead call for 3 weeks would have to be overturned. Basically this season is tainted forever. The damage is already done.

Come on now. Goodell is just doing the bidding for the owners here.

Obviously, the NFL isn't going to say anything substantial with negotiations still ongoing.

So does Goodell answer to the stock owners of GB?

Exactly. This couldn't have happened to a better team for Goodell since the public owns the packers.

The draft introduction of Roger is going to be outstanding this year. It may top the "she said no" chant when the Steelers were on the clock. Bet you the NFL tries to weasel out of it, by having a kid with cancer introduce the commissioner.

How many owners will have their teams screwed over before they decide enough is enough? Is Bob Kraft happy with the refs?

Haha. Or his spineless back prevents him from going out there. First year a commish doesn't announce draft picks due to safety concerns for his life.

I hate to say it, but the NFL did the right thing in not overturning the result. The fact that the call on the field was so blatantly and obviously incorrect on so many levels is an entirely different thing.

They had to. If overturned I'm sure there would be calls from several teams regarding incorrect calls.

I bet Jerry Jones loved the ref stopping his WR from getting a TD by throwing his hat for no reason.

Not only that but Jennings has the ball un his hands and ia going to the ground before Tate even gets that 1 hand on the ball

Imagine if that dude blew out his knee when he ran into that hat. Definite lawsuit against the league for damages and unsafe work conditiona

The level of blind idiocy in that thread is amazing - I guess we now know how a guy who wants airliners to have electric windows can be a viable presidential candidate.

He does what the owners tell him to do. Yell at the owners, not the guy they put out there to draw the hate away from them.

So a commissioner of a sport has zero power in keeping the integrity of said sport? He is not powerless in this. It is his job to put forth the highest quality a product that is safe for the players while keeping the integrity. Fine the owners.
It's comical that the packers are owned by the public.

I'm not saying Goodell is a stand-up guy. I'm saying he's there to do the bidding of the owners, that's why they put him there. If he doesn't, he'll get replaced. He's there to draw the public's anger away from the owners.

Yeah! The pack can join the club. The refs cost the saints the game last week (which really isn't mentioned), and helped us lose against the falcons!

I was going to sugges this for my kids and then realize they might play the part too good and get lost in a different neighborhood or argue together if the dwelling in front of them is really a home or an illusion.

This will not be the last time this happens with these refs. Week 3 and there are enough blown calls for the next 5+ years!!!

I used to complain about the old refs but not anymore. Can we please have some integrity back in the game? These guys simply don't know the rule book and are trying to apply high school or lingere league or whatever rules that they do know. Has anyone seen the retired ref from Denver saying these guys are doing a good job? It's been on several of the local news channels.

I still have a Pats hoodie with the sleeves ripped off and an old school broken video camera from the year I went as Bill Belichick.
