Why can't they figure out how to be quiet when the O has the ball? In the first game I thought it was just a large number of Steeler fans in the crowd but ti seems to still be going on. .

Perhaps a changing amongst the ranks of the QBs in the league. The former elites are falling off while newcomers take their elite status. Eli, Ryan, Stafford have become elite. Perhaps Brady, Brees and Peyton have fallen to the ranks of the good or really good.

You know the real problem(besides them sucking) with these refs is everytime they call a personal foul it's usually on both sides so nothing really happens. If they would find the instigator and then make a stand they would have control.

Of all the things we've lost in the ref strike, the basic meaning of pass interference seems chief among them. If a WR falls down at the end of a deep pass attempt, it is now a mortal lock to be PI against the defense. Complete absurdity at this point.

I'm not sure why the Packers came on the field for the XP. Yes, there's a rule that the XP has to be attempted, but why go out there? Just let them kick it without you. If there's a rule that says they have to be there...flaunt the rule. Who cares? The NFL doesn't have the political capital to punish them for flaunting such a rule.

No way. Once he wrapped it up and was coming down with the ball while the receiver Tate let one arm loose, Jennings has control and has the int before Tate can get that 2nd hand back to the play to steal it. Already over, game over , Packs win.... until you let the retards take the game away. Of course the non call on Tate's PI was the big factor of getting one defender out of the play.

Jennings had both arms around the ball, which was pinned to his chest. Tate had his arm around Jennings. I guess that means that Tate scored a touchdown!

The funniest thing was when the ref looks down, sees the ball pinned to Jennings chest, and signals touchdown! Maybe he forgot who was on offense and defense.

There were literally more bad calls than I would even attempt to list. Father is a Packer fan, so I actually watched this one pretty closely.

The previous possession the roughing the QB call which negated a Packer INT was a bad call.

The PI on that same possession was probably the worst interference call I've seen in 28 years of watching football.

The spotting of the ball was horrible for both teams the entire game. There were at least 4 instances of holding on both teams that would never, ever get called by real officials.

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe what I just watched.

WOW !!!!!!!

Did not think it could possibly get any worse at the time I switched off the game.

... and Pet Carroll plays a complete d-bag during it all.

Still trying to processing what I just witnessed.

How livid must GB right now.

I live in Seattle and couldn't believe my eyes. That replacement ref #26 is, bar none, the worst referee in the history of referees.

I feel for the Packers (well, not really). But they got totally shafted on that final play. What a joke: one ref signals interception, the other one signals TD.

The entire game was a joke in terms of phantom PI calls, missed PI calls, and dubious roughing the passer penalties.

But fans in Seattle still remember the mystery TD by Vinnie Testaverde back before instant replay, so I guess this is the Gods way of evening things up.

At least Ed had the balls to admit he made an error.

Plus, your Defense had the opportunity to stop the 2 point conversion, in which Royal ran the exact same route that he scored the TD with.

If that play were reviewable, it would have been over turned. This play was reviewed and STILL up held! This call is easily worse.

Hey, I'm a Broncos fan through and through. But even I'll admit that the Hawks got shafted by the refs against the "Stealers" in the Super Bowl. The bad calls, phantom pushoffs and phantom holding calls changed the outcome of that game.

Whenever I talk about that "victory" to Pittsburgh fans, I always use "air quotes."

- I think the refs really called a "fair" and "unbiased" game.

And could they possibly make those numbers any larger. The old silver helmet (80's) uni's were actually one of the best in the league IMO. Now look at them.

Now they look like a soccer club complete with highlighted sponsorship (neon green sheild surrounding Nike logo on shoulders).

You're crazy. That victory wasn't tainted.

The Replacement refs are doing a "credible job" according to the commish. So, obviously, they can't get the real refs back because something something SOSHULISM.

****ing retards. There comes a point when the commissioner of the league -- ostensibly the steward of "what's best for the game" -- needs to pull his ideological head out of his ideological ass and do what's ACTUALLY best for the league: bite the bullet and put the regular officials back in charge.

This is absurd.

I'm just one holler in the chaos, but that end-game disaster has to be the most blatant, incompetent f/u in regular season history. The NFL has to be horrified. More than a few t-v's went through picture windows in Green bay I would suppose. Wow. I've never seen anything like that in my life.

Unreal. The fact they even reviewed it and still ****ed it up is so priceless.

Break it down:

* WR pushes off and it's offensive PI, which is not called WR, if you look close, only actually got one hand on the ball. The other was on the DB's wrist, at first contact. The DB catches the ball. WR then removes hand from wrist and it clearly shows now this hand not touching anything, all the while the DB has control of the pass Then as they fall to ground, DB has turned body enough that WR doesn't even have the ball on his chest, and never did, and only after they went to the ground and was a lagit INT, then the WR put second hand on ball.

This was so horrible. Nice going NFL, you guys suck dick.

The trouble is, they can't even get the calls right with instant replay.

Case in point, Knowshon's fumble, last nights Hail eff you GB, and I don't know if anyone else watched the game but Tenn v Detroit, late in the game they overturned a catch saying the ball hit the ground, the ball NEVER came close to the ground AND was ruled a catch on the field. Didn't change the outcome but the announcers were like wai..what? I couldnt believe a ref went under the booth and thought there was any evidence to overturn that call. Shenanigans!

Keep in mind when all this happened there was two refs on that side of the endzone staring right at this ending and neither apparently saw Tate push 37 to the ground or the fact Jennings have the ball on his chest while landing on top of Tate?

Unfugginbelievable

The NFL will spin it to there favor and say It's the refs unions fault they are using these scabs

I always thought David Stern is the worse commissioner.
He is much better than the Clown Roger Goodell.

The GB player f'd up by not knocking the ball to the ground. That's what they're supposed to do on Hail Mary's so there is no question about possession.

I agree it was an INT, but if the ref sees both players with what he thinks is simultaneous possession, the Offensive player gets the catch.

And, to further compound the already massive cluster, the NFL is going to start issuing some major fines to any play or coach who has the audacity to imply that the Referees gave Seattle the game.

Seriuosly NFL. You already have a pretty nasty black-eye over this situation as it is. Why don't you go easy on the fines, this one time?

NFL Charities was running short on cash. It was either this or a telethon hosted by Philip Rivers.

Jayhole and Brandon close it up with an emotional full-pads rendition of Endless Love.

Class? That has nothing to do with anything. They should have stayed in the lockerroom and ignored the instruction to return. It would have put the scabs in their place. NFL couldn't punish them either as it would look worse PR wise. I see no downside here. Flaunt the rule.

I think you are underestimating the douchiness of Goodell. Like Steve Young said last week, he doesn't care about blow-back because he knows the fans are going to watch and spend money anyway. Had the Packers done as you suggest, I have little doubt the organization would have been hit with a six figure fine, if not the individual players.

I'm still waiting for some explanation on how that was considered a catch by Tate. What did he do to get credited for catching the ball? Looks like he simply put one arm on a ball that was pinned to Jennings' chest, while Jennings' had both arms around it.

Tate was actually credited with a catch. Wait, I need to type that again. Tate was credited with a catch. Every time I type that I just kind of laugh. Tate was credited with a catch. Really?!?! From now on, when a defensive player intercepts a pass and goes to the ground, any receiver in the area should just touch the ball and claim that he caught it. Tie goes to the offensive player right?

As bad as this is, it is kind of awesome!

"I already tried calling DirecTV this morning to cancel my Sunday Ticket on the grounds of not wanting to pay money to the NFL until this is solved. I was told I could cancel yesterday, but not today. Interesting how that works out, but it appears the NFL has my money no matter what."

Anyone else tried? That's... remarkably ****ty.

After further review, the replacement refs find the defendant, Jerry Sandusky, not guilty.

Bwahaha.

God damn aren't you supposed to be a lawyer?

You're crazy. That victory wasn't tainted.

The Replacement refs are doing a "credible job" according to the commish. So, obviously, they can't get the real refs back because something something SOSHULISM.

****ing retards. There comes a point when the commissioner of the league -- ostensibly the steward of "what's best for the game" -- needs to pull his ideological head out of his ideological ass and do what's ACTUALLY best for the league: bite the bullet and put the regular officials back in charge.

This is absurd.

Whats best for the league is full time refs. The regular refs dont want to be full time. They want to work 5 hours a week, get paid 6 figures, get a 40K pension plan and keep their day job.

Just saying.

There's a way around all of this, of course. Grandfather the old refs in, use the new refs as the "taxi squads" to replace underperforming squads, and as they retire you've got a whole slew of fully-trained, non-moron officials.

OH, wait. Nope. The owners have to have everything their way all the time, because they're so benevolent that they've given this game to all of us to enjoy, so we should just thank them and kiss their asses.

Wellp, back to the drawing board.
