View Full Version : Ty Warren out for year!

Hulamau
09-10-2012, 12:37 PM
Ty Warren is likely out for the year after re-tearing what was reported at a Bicep injury but he tore his triceps last year.

Either way this sucks Donkey balls!! The guy cant catch a break and it hurts us too .... Vickerson's time to to step up and shine along with Siliga Bannen and WOlfe

Look for Malik to play more DT as well!

I didn't really count on him for this season.....time for Malik Jackson to make his move

Hulamau

Wolfe will be playing at Pre-inury Warren levels by mid way through the season as he gets fully up to NFL snuff all the way around. I expect this to mean a faster trajectory to Malik Jackson becoming a stud pass rusher/ run stuffer for us as well ...

AM REALLY glad we hung on to Siliga too this kid will do well for us too and is mui strong .. like an Ox.

Bannan

Maybe a bit of an exaggeration. Bannan is solid, Vickerson is OK. Unrein had a decent game last night. Wolfe and Jackson can both slide inside for snaps as well. It's not ideal, but it's not quite as a horrific as worst in the league, IMO.

Steelers o-line is average when healthy and they were down two lineman during the game. I wouldn't claim anything about the starting d-line group after one game.

It really is a shame Ty got injured again so early! The guy has been a stand up dude all along and very well liked by the team and players.

He is not a faker or loafer and never has been. Some of this venom toward him from a few here for this crappy luck is childish and immature for sure.

He never had injury problems in his career until the hip and now this recurring Triceps or Biceps which ever it really is. No doubt, he is totally depressed as hell about it all right now and at least he will be working with the team as a DL defacto coach, mentor and motivator on the side lines for the younger guys as he did last year.

That is at least some consolation in this lousy story and will definitely help guys like Malik, Derek, Siliga, Unrein and Vickerson become better players as well.

Those few of you hating on Ty should cool it... I seriously doubt he was wishing this would happen when he suited up last night. Just before kick off on the NBC broadcast he was totally fired up on the sidelines and getting the D Line ready to rumble.

No hating... he just doesn't do the team any good...

that is the sad part. Not his fault.. he is a very good player when healthy. His hip screwed him out of one season and now repeated bicep or tricep tears which is just really shiatty bad luck anyway you look at it!

He never had a history of being a fragile dude at all in college or his first 8 years in the NFL. So this is just the crap side of this sport ... it hits one or two good players on nearly every team at some point and ends their careers. Sucks all the way around .. mostly for Ty!

But he will help the team in support and coaching up the younger guys and teaching them what he knows the best he can. He did that all last year on IR as well. That's not nothing, but certainly not what any of us wanted or expected that would be his only contribution.

We didn't lock in a lot of money here in any event so not much lost on that end.

Lycan
09-10-2012, 02:03 PM

There's no way his body can hold up to all these severe injuries.

Not able to play for 2 years then demanding more money is being a stand up guy? The realists here knew this would happen. Some even predicted it in this game. He should've left football last year.

Not much was lost moneywise, but this FO didn't make this position a priority once again cause they were banking on him being on the field.
