Great offense but the defense needs some shoring up.............they bailed themselves out in the end with the pick.

3rd and 12, 3rd and 14 and 3rd and 18 all converted.
Get this fixed JDR.

This defense is worlds better than what the Colts rolled out most years. They stuffed the run and their corner play was excellent. They've got to get better on 3rd downs, but really holding a team to less than 20 points and 300 yards is something you didn't see very often with those Colts defenses.

Indy was exactly what I was thinking of as I was watching this game. The offensive line is much better in Denver though. Manning is a ****ing miracle worker.

So we got Stinkburgh out of the way. Next week at a team that beat the queefs soundly. What are the odds of Peyton playing well in a dome?

Their running game didn't look good at all. Plus they got 3 extra shots at it because the Chiefs turned it over 3 times. They'll give our secondary a test no doubt. I think we can hold them in the running game and if we don't turn it over, we have a good shot at winning that game.

Some of those plays by Roth were him just being the great QB he is. But I was thinking the whole game that is was such chaos that we should get some picks. Then we started dropping all our chances.

Finally Porter snagged one and game was over.

I think we struggle with QBs great at buying time because our safetys and linebackers just dont cover that well. But Doom needs to get off the ball better. I was shocked Starks handled him like that.

Still though this is the best team Broncos have had in a long time.

run defense was good.........but what was the passing yardage on those almost 10 minute drives ?

Don't stick your head in the sand. Defense needs some work.

It was like that Colts/Dolphins Monday night game from a few years back. I think the Colts had the ball for less than 15 minutes in that game. It was ridiculous. The defense couldn't get off the field and gave up more than 200 yards on the ground. Manning still found a way to win. It the epitome of his Indy career really. Bad defense, poor coaching, still winning.

Most teams that have a great offense that scores quick will have a defense that doesn't rank very well with stats. GB and NE last year were good examples of defenses that were better than their ranking.

I am not so sure those are good examples.............

They did look pretty good. Ryan was on point. But I'll take Peyton manning in a dome!

Indy's defense usually came through late. When the opponent was behind and they knew they had to attack with Freeny and Mathis. Which is pretty similar to Pitts last drive last night. Play with the lead and they were usually ok.

The problem is that it doesn't always work like that.

The progress of Manning's career went something like this

At first he just asked to "score more TD's than your opponent"
Then it was "Score first so the defense can play with a lead."
Then it was "Score more, first, and then make sure you do it slowly because the defense gets winded.

Finally "Score first to get the lead, score more than your opponent, eat as much clock as possible, and make sure you put the game away because special teams and defense will give it away if there is even 30 seconds left on the clock. And even then the unqualified head coach may call a time out to give the opposition one last chance."

Manning's last game against the Jets in Indy illustrates what I'm trying to say.
