C'mon. The Chorfs do have a running game. And Cassell is an average QB. They can play some ball. The real issue is whether they have enough on D to make a difference.

Having said all that, I believe the Falcons are rather shaky in the run D and maybe even Pass D to really be as big a factor in this game as some believe. I would not be surprised if the Chorfs win this thing. (barf)

That's the best I've seen Cassel play as a Chef. There's no way he's going to sustain it though. It's like the 45-year-old in rec league basketball that hits 5 flat-footed 3's in a row. Happens once in awhile. The sun shines on dog's ass. Anybody can win the lotto.

No pass rush can make anyone look great.

Atlanta's defense is playing like chit.

They play like this against us, we will score 50 on them.

Atlanta is going to be a handful. Grimes pulled up lame and left with a calf injury so we could get lucky there.

Jones/White/Gonzo are going to be difficult to defend. A good early test for our defense.

Her certainly crapped the bed in the second half. Having said that, both teams had to make adjustments at the second half. Cassel was more than capable the first half. One coaching staff made adjustments. The other "guzzled cream cheese and jelly" and crapped the bed.

I will say the Chiefs pass rush was non-existent. If it's even half as bad as it looked today, Manning is going to destroy them.

Atlanta had NO pass rush first half and we know any qb can look good if they have all day. Once the Falcons got up and pressured Cassell he gave up the ball like a 20 dollar crack whore.....over and over again.

We have the horses for a consistent pass rush.

KC has no excuses on offense as they had all their players.
Charles was as I have said...scat back. Dance around and lose 3-5 yards multiple times or if lucky 1-2 yard gain........then hit one big run. He goy half his yards on one run.
He is overated and I will take a consistent back every day.

On defense KC was missing Flowers, Hali and one other db.

So there defense could be a little better than shown but even with all those guys I don't they would have made 30 points difference.

Manning will torch these fools for 50...............

Was surprised KC was able to stay close for a half. Cassel actually looked like a decent QB. No pass rush for Atlanta, until the 2nd half... which was kinda what put it away. Put pressure on Cassel and he folds.

Hali and Flowers being out likely hurt them, but it wasn't the only problem for them.

New HC, new QB, we'll be competitive. The roster is fairly talented. Not as talented as Chefs homers think, but with the right HC and QB, enough to compete for this division.

Didn't they just sign Romeo to a contract? He's likely to be there at least another year.

Sanchez looked like Brady out there today, flinging the ball all over the place. Where's KCStud to chime in how he'd take Cassel over Sanchez again?

Problem is that if they stick with Cassel all year, he's still good enough to get them six wins and out of the running of drafting any of the top franchise QBs next year.

As much as I do empathize with you going through the same Patriot raping we did, I think you are starting to be a little too much on the negative side. KC was missing several good D players. Now that doesnt excuse them for letting ATL go up and down the field every time, but they obviously will be much better when they get those guys back. IMO, this is a team that will win its games defense first, so I dont think you would be winning anything in barnburners anyway. The Chiefs will win 20-17 games this year, with good running from Charles and Hillis and play action passes to Bowe.

not sure what is going on with kc's defense. I guess Hali does make that much of a huge difference. Houston had one sack but was pretty quiet the rest of the game. D. Johnson was again their leading tackler so that normal.

The Chiefs are stupid. They should get Charles the ball more because he only needs one play to go the distance. Every carry Hillis gets is a relief for the defense IMO.

They really missed Hali (the only pass rusher they have) and Flowers (their best cover guy by a wide margin). Johnson is nursing an ankle injury which kept him from doing anything against the pass.

The biggest problem is still Cassel, he is the diet coke of the QB world - a pretty close approximation to the real thing, but will just never be as good in any given situation as the real deal. He is always a few cents short of a dollar in crunch time and you can tell.

Any team that can stop Charles and avoid making mistakes is going to win.
