“I find it inconceivable that one of your players, Mr. Brendon Ayanbadejo would publicly endorse Same-Sex marriage, specifically as a Raven Football player. Many of my constituents and your football supporters are appalled and aghast that a member of the Ravens Football Team would step into this controversial divide and try to sway public opinion one way or the other. … I am requesting that you take the necessary action, as a National Football League Owner, to inhibit such expressions from your employees and that he be ordered to cease and desist such injurious actions. I know of no other NFL player who has done what Mr. Ayanbadejo is doing.”

I can't wait to see what bigot supports this mans stance against free speech, forget about human rights.

Seeing players today and the support for comments on that page give you a good feeling that the people in this country are progressing but the politicians are so far back it seems like a different country. Gay marriage is happening, sooner than later.

PS: just if you need another NFL player, Chris Kluwe is very open on his twitter in support of same sex marriage

Gee, where are all the Chick-fil-A 'guardians of free speech' on this one?

Hmm, the politician that said that is a black democrat from Maryland. I thought you were a racist if disagreed with a black democrat. I guess gay rights trumps race for liberals. In any case, since Burns is a black democrat, this story won't last long in the media. Many black pastors have also come out and criticized Obama as well for this issue, but that again, won't get much media attention.

deflection as usual. outrage when it suggested that CFA be boycotted for the ceo free speech, but silence when it suggested that a person be punished for excersizing his free spech in favor of marriage equality.

Another day, another right-wing double standard.

One set of rules for them - another set for their opponents.

Democrat or Republican, this guy's a moron. But alas, it does speak to the concept of authority and government reach into esoteric parts of everyday life that this guy has in his pea-sized brain.

As Barry said, this story won't fit the narrative/meme created for the issue and its spin-offs, so it will gain no traction nationally.

The next assignment for the liberal media will be to try to find a white pastor somewhere, preferably one that supports Romney, who will agree with what Burns said and so it then could be a campaign issue since it can't be one now since this pastor is black.

Nah - that sort of thing is for you and your fellow members of the "wide stance" party.
