One of the more deceptive points the GOP is trotting out lately. When Obama took office, gas prices were at an unprecedented low point because, oh I don't have any idea why, but I think it might have something to do with some sort of economic problems at the time. It is equally true that gas prices today are basically the same, if not a bit lower, than they were five or six years ago.

Do you know something else that has nearly doubled since Obama took office? The Dow Jones Industrial Average. If I was like you, I guess I would cite this as evidence that Obama has been one of the best economic successes in history. But I recognize that stock prices, like gas prices, were depressed by the economic crisis, both of them symptoms of the almost unprecedented financial conditions four years ago.
