How often does a team end up playing 5 preseason games. I don't seem to remember that in years past.

Only if they play in the HOF game or the now defunct Tokyo Bowl game

Hulamau

Hillman is gonna be very dangerous when he gets the feel for the NFL game and his hammy is 100%. Cant wait to see Manning hitting him with play action passes in the flats.

Just looking for a bright side on things...the 2nd & 3rd team defense sure looks better than they have, but the offense just hasn't helped them out much.

Cardinal backups aren't nearly as good as the 49ers backups unfortunately, but the point remains. Seems Del Rio whooped their butts after last week's debacle.

It happens every year. If you play in the HOF game you'll have 5 preseason games. Denver had five in 2004 when they Played the Skins in the HOF game after Elway's induction,

Disappointed in Fox on the FG. Would like to have seen them go for it in preseason. It would be good practice for the kids. Winning a pre-season game should not be more important than finding out who your playmakers are, IMHO.

To me Hillman just doesn't look that fast. I mean he isn't as fast as Johnson that is for sure. I wish we could have seen more of JJ and see what he can do in space.

Speed kills especially when Peyton is getting the ball to you. I'd much rather have Hillman and Johnson than Ball and Moreno myself just because they are faster and better open field runners.

Fox likes to have two bruisers and a speed guy. Ball is the closest to a WIllis backup in size after Mario when down. And Moreno is good in space and can catch too.

Moreno and Hillman will be fine along with Ball and Willis in a four way RB squad.

Moreno is very good in catching the ball and moves well in space once he is past the line or as a screen. He is just now starting to get healthy after that early season ACL last year in KC. And he was starting off the year as a good compliment to Willis before the knee.

Knowshon's running style is much more suited to a Peyton offense than either Orton or Tebow.

Weber QBR = 95.8

guess which one makes the squad and which one gets cut.

How did Brosweiler do? Just him throw an INT, he looks pretty awful so far. Did he show any progress at all?

He looked like a rookie but I'll say this much: dude went through his progressions pretty nicely unlike a certain somebody we used to know. I think he has alot of confidence in his arm which isn't necessarily bad but he keeps trying to throw tight passes into coverage.

On his interception he kept his eyes on the receiver and the DB jumped it.

The one thing I really don't like about Osweiler is how on short and intermediate passes he has a shot put type throwing motion, its very compact and all, but he doesn't get the ball up high enough and his spiral isn't tight because he pushes the ball. On deep throws when he really uncorks it, he has a much better motion with a higher release.

He is a rookie with very little experience so I expect his progressions, pocket presence and awareness will all improve.

I always thought he was throwing the ball too damn hard on those short and intermediate passes. Ain't nothing wrong with putting heat on it but damn it needs to be catchable.

I also think that he may be doing too much thinking as far as his throwing goes. He compacted his throwing motion and it's probably going to be some time before it becomes muscle memory.

Some passes looked better when his stride wasn't as wide but when you've been throwing for so long the same way, I wasn't expecting him to not revert a little.

Good thing about him is that when the pressure comes, his mind doesn't become a cluster**** and forgets everything he learned.

Color guy sounds like he's climaxing every time the Cards do something even remotely impressive

I loved that guy, he sounded like he was so stoned the whole time - I am pretty sure if they had given him a twinky things would have gotten crazy.

He does put a lot of mustard on his short throws, I think that goes with throwing it into tight spots you gotta make sure it gets there.

His long stride is definitely something Gaze and Mccoy needs to work on, it makes him shorter and puts him at risk for stumbling and losing his footing in bad field conditions.

I do like that he doesn't seem to revert to his old motion the way Tebow did on the field, his new motion seems to have stuck pretty well which bodes nicely. I think the challenge for him is shortening up that stride, getting the delivery up higher and the normal mental side of it, getting through progressions quicker, reading the D better.

His potential is evident, he really can gun it, he doesn't seem skittish at all and doesn't seem worried about making a few mistakes and taking a few hits. I hope he can get a good 2 or 3 seasons learning from Manning how to be the ultimate pro QB and how to win some super bowls so he can take over and come out swinging from day 1.
