I am offering a $50 reward if someone can give me a 100% photo match of this 1992 game used jersey. I know that it is 100% authentic I would just really like a photo of him wearing because I am getting it framed and would love to have a pic of him within the frame. I can provide better pictures or different angles if needed.

I am hitting up all the Broncos forums in hope of finding a hardcore fan with a good photo database from this era.

Thanks for all the help!

Just a suggestion. Did you try to contact the Rocky Mountain News archives? I can't imagine how many game day images their photogs took of John Elway in 1992. They may have transferred and scanned game images into a database which you could access. Might be worth a try.

He must have wiped it on himself in the locker room.

I'm not an expert but I thought game worn jerseys from the era were longer.

I have seen all sizes from this era. I am just guessing the longer ones that look almost like a dress are worn durring the late fall / early winter months and tend to have the hand warmers stitched in. As seen here:

http://www.robertedwardauctions.com/auction/2009images/Item_12836_1.jpg

Here is a mid 90's uniform from the Hall of Fame, as you can see it is about the same length as mine:

http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m249/elifan/elwayuniform.jpg

Also this jersey is by no means short. I am 6' and when I hold it up it comes about 1" above my knees.

Wait, so you want original prints right?

Otherwise, try google images.

I am willing to take either. I have scoured google images with zero luck. That is why I came here.

Had to have been a home game 'cause the jersey's orange... so a look at profootballreference.com narrows it down to: Raiders, Chargers, Chiefs, Oilers, Jets, Giants, Cowboys, or Seahawks.

"How much is the reward?" asked the guy with a lil over X0,000 images?

It's unlikely I have it, but back in '92 people didn't bother with cataloging images and attaching specific/relevant captions.

Also, knowing which game it is from would help ... a LOT!

$50 is what I am offering. Might not be worth it to some but figured I would give it a shot.

It would really help if I knew what game it was from too! It was origionally auctioned off as a early 90's worn gamer, I did the research to find out it was from 92.

In 91 the "NFL" logo was below the neckline, in 92 the NFL logo was on the neck line and the wilson "W" was only on the left sleeve on the side. In 93 the "W" was in the front of the both sleeves. So that is how I know it is a 1992.

I have no doubt about its authenticity, it comes with 1 LOA from the auction. 1 LOA from the collector who owns a store in Chicago, who is also published on his knowledge on game used Jordan items. and a LOA from JSA.

How is it so clean if it's game worn?

You think they never wash jerseys?

I am guessing the big stain you see is either a very deep grass stain that didn't come out or it is something other than grass. There is also a rip which is on the left of the "grass" stain in the middle.

I am guessing that they washed this one, stains didn't come out and they noticed the rip and instead of repairing it just used a new one.

It's hard to find hi-res pics from that era. Better to do it by deduction:

It's one of 8 games (7 home, 1 away against the skins)
Elway was on his face at some point in the game (sack, slide or tackle)
It's likely one of the warmer games, since there were no pockets in the jersey.

Breakdown of games:

Raiders @ Broncos September 6, 1992
64 degrees, relative humidity 34%, wind 9 mph
Elway sacked 4 times, ran 5 times

Chargers @ Broncos September 13, 1992
74 degrees, relative humidity 28%, wind 11 mph
Sacked 2 times, ran 2 times

Chiefs @ Broncos Sunday, October 4, 1992
64 degrees, relative humidity 24%, wind 12 mph
Sacked 5 times, ran 4 times

Broncos @ Redskins Monday, October 12, 1992
57 degrees, relative humidity 63%, wind 11 mph
Sacked 5 times, ran 1 time

Oilers @ Denver Sunday, October 18, 1992
47 degrees, relative humidity 37%, wind 8 mph
Sacked 4 times, ran 0 times

Jets @ Denver Sunday, November 8, 1992
43 degrees, relative humidity 47%, wind 10 mph
Sacked 0 times, ran 4 times

Giants @ Denver Sunday, November 15, 1992
46 degrees, relative humidity 42%, wind 9 mph
Sacked 0 times, ran 1 time

December 6, 1992
(did not play)

Seahawks @ Denver Sunday, December 20, 1992
13 degrees, relative humidity 67%, wind 6 mph, wind chill 4
Sacked 2 times, ran 0 times

Pick out the most likely games (raiders, chiefs) obtain some tape, and watch to see when he goes down chest first. Then look for high-res pics near the end of the game.

By the way, aside from the 1 away game, Elway won all of the games listed above.

Really if I can get a pic of Elway from the last play of the games listed That would be mint because unless he tripped on the way out to the locker room at the end of the game it would show the wear.

Hmm, have you tried youtube or vimeo? I would give those a go. Alternatively, you could always reach out to the organization via their public affairs office. Those would be the routes I would take. On a side note, you may want to PM Punisher re: any '92 games.

One final idea, is it possible that it was the Houston playoff game? That would have been in '92 I believe.

That is a 1991 jersey. See the "NFL" logo is below the neck line. In 1992 it was on the neck elastic. Also for the most part the pictures on the card is usually from the season before the year of the card.

But thank you for taking a shot!

1991 jersey. Notice the "NFL" logo below the neckline:

1992 the "NFL" logo is on the neck:

And in 1993 the Wilson "W" was placed on both sleeves not just the left (as in 1992) and also moved from the side of the sleeve to the front:

I don't have a picture of it, but I have an early 90s game worn Keith Kartz jersey that I bought at Dove Valley in 1995.

They used to sell game worn jerseys and practice jerseys of some of the mid-tier players like Keith Kartz for a decent price.

The jersey is all sewn and stitched up and looks sweet.

I haven't been to Dove Valley for probably 12 years....do they still sell anything there?

It is a blue pant leg probably the Houston oilers in 1992 regular season game or the 1991 playoff game.
