The bronco hater Colin cowherd said we'd win the west, and could've gone 11-5 but the crazy hard schedule has them at 9-7.

Oh gods, they reference Peter King. That spam cannon cannot write complete sentences. I think. Maybe. Possibly. Although I would love to see the Broncos in the Super Bowl, I think his prediction is retarded. Obviously the Broncos will win if we make it to the big dance.

I read this earlier, and even the biggest homer cannot agree with it if you look at the path he has us on in the playoffs. Not to mention he has KC winning the division, us and GB making the Super Bowl as wild cards. And, us winning on the road in Baltimore and New England to get there.

Come on Pete.

Peter King picked the Falcons and Chargers to be in the SB last season.
However he picked both SB teams correctly in 2010 (though he had the winner wrong).

They can't seriously be that stupid can they?

Ha ha. Elway loses another Super Bowl. That's an easy prediction.

Denver's going to the Superbowl alright. If they buy tickets to the game.

Soooo... If this genious thinks KC wins the division but Denver goes to the SB then why wouldn't he predict Denver to just win the division

Chief fans should be very familiar with scenarios involving KC winning the division but Denver going to the Super Bowl.

But, yeah, Peter King is terrible. Super Bowl predictions involving entire playoff brackets projected are always dumb. ESPN mag has us losing in the Super Bowl too, I believe.

I never understood why anyone would get excited or angry over how an "expert" predicts their favorite team or rival team will do. It has zero bearing on the outcome of a season. Read it for what it is, an opinion and move on.

The only team I do not see winning the Div is KC....Crennel is HC, Cassel at QB, a soft OL and a soft D.

I see Den (soley on the Manning Factor) and SD as teams with the best shots at winning the West. The Raiders are a dark horse and an unknown, even for me it's hard to say how well they will do.

I can see why people would have Denver not winning the division but getting a wild card and playing well. I imagine his logic is that it will take 6 weeks for this offense to gell and considering Denver's tough early schedule they could lose a lot of games. The team then gells around week 7 or so goes on a greta run and just misses catching the Chefs. Denver goes into the playoffs as the Wild Card team no one wants to play they then goon and destory all the teams resulting in a crushing defeat for the Steelers in pittsburgh at the AFC Championship game after destroying the Chiefs in the Divisional game.......

yeah, baby 1997 all over again!!

Chiefsplanet is hilarious. There is a large group over there that honestly believes:

Peyton Manning is one hit away from being paralyzed.
He has the weakest arm in the league.
He can't throw to his right.
He won't last more than five games.
He can't throw more than twenty yards.

Basically they have convinced themselves he's a more fragile Chad Pennington except he can't throw to one side of the field and his arm isn't as good. There are posts over there seriously suggesting they just need to put "all the defenders on the left side of the field within 20 yards of the LOS and Manning won't be able to do anything."

That is everywhere. On a SF board last week they were saying that they were going to rip Peyton's head off and he'd never make it through the season etc.... That is literally every team's board concerning Manning.

Oh hell what do they know. What WE know is that in 1 quarter of football against one of the best defenses Manning put up 17 points and a 148 passer rating. I'll take that every game.

I'm so pumped for the season - tuff schedule or not - bring it

Why do you hate America?

Why do your "American's" have a mass exodus from Analhead near the mid/to late 3rd quarter every opening day loss?

Didn't CBS show the mass exodus out of Analhead at the end of the 3rd quarter down 37 - 0

What was so pressing that they couldn't have waited around until the blowout loss was in the books? They could have necked with their sisters in their Camero's while waiting for a tow or jump start to get the Camero running. They could wait a couple hours to get the mullet trimmed up, they could always get into one of their mobile hot tubs and have a good old fashioned KFC circle jerk...

I am guessing things got better for Altman after moving to California after getting out of the Army. BTW didn't his family have lots of money, they weren't the typical dreggs of KFC society, you know the ones who would by a quart of paint or some glue to huff for the weekend.

I got Baltimore v Chicago. Both teams have youth and talent all over and are both Superbowl-caliber if they can stay healthy.

Denver's schedule is ridiculous for the first half of the season and roster depth is razor thin. Green Bay is still too one-sided offensively for my tastes and you can practically see the age of the Patriots/Steelers squads. I do think Kansas City matches up exceptionally well vs. the rest of the AFC West, but the division is still a tossup.

"Now for Denver. O.K., I've been seduced by the Peyton Manning kavorka. This summer he kvetched to me about seeing some middle-of-the-pack college quarterback at the Manning Passing Academy in July throw a ball 70 yards downfield on the same route on which Manning threw it about 48. He obviously pines for his full arm strength to come back, but he has no idea when-or if-that'll happen. I'm here to say I don't care. I say if his arm's 80% of what it was five years ago, Manning will figure it out. Some of the best throws of his life have been short curls and quick outs into tiny windows. I think his arm will be good enough this year ... because his brain will win so many of the one-on-one battles he's won in the past. His weapons are good enough too, and I think John Elway's best non-Manning acquisitions will turn out to be tight ends Joel Dreessen and Jacob Tamme. They're not Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, but they'll suffice, offering the kind of security that Dallas Clark gave Manning for so many years in Indy. Denver danced on a high wire to the AFC West title last season; this year Manning will give the Broncos the consistency at quarterback that Tim Tebow never could. Manning will also take them two wins further in the playoffs than Tebow did.

But not three.

Fifteen years ago John Elway won a 31-24 shootout with Brett Favre in the Super Bowl. This time Elway will be watching from a Superdome box, not helicoptering over tacklers in San Diego. He'll wish he had more to do with the outcome. In the Revenge of the Cheeseheads, four miles from Manning's boyhood home, Rodgers will best Manning in another Super Bowl shootout. Green Bay 33, Denver 30.

If ever a Super Bowl loss could be a moral victory, this will be one for the 36-year-old Manning. A year ago his career hung in the balance. Don't tell Manning this because he won't buy it, but there would be no shame in a Super Bowl loss, not after what he's been through." -Peter King SI 9-3-12 (link protected)

I've been a Raiders fan for 35 years. Myopic fans exist in every fan base, in fact, there are ton of myopic Broncos fans on this message board. I have no trouble admitting to a rival team's strength. What is idiotic is the "your team sucks because they're the (insert team name)." The Raiders ae the dark horse of the AFC west, they have the weapons on O to be very explosive and dangerous team and the D has shown some promise in PS. If the Raiders gel and get rolling, they will be very tough to beat.

I disagree. They have poor LBers and a below average QB. Manning with exploit their LBers all day and VonDoom will make Palmer's day miserable. I see another last place finish for the Fade, nothing personal they just won't be that good.

You make some valid points. CP needs to pick up his game but DMC is the focus of the O. The most worriesome position on D are the CB's. The Raiders do have a very strong DL.

Now Denver is favored soley by the Manning factor. But the Broncos still have problems, namely the OL that can get manhandled....Manning's quick release will help that out. The run game is below average. On the D, Denver's bread and butter is the pass rush....but they have trouble with defending the run game and the DB's are at best barely average aside from Champ. If an opposing team can control the time of possession, Denver will be in trouble.

When you can't win a playoff game, claim Robert Altman.
