Gaffney > Caldwell

QFT. Grab him if we can, and cut the "drop machine". Haven't seen so many drops since "the Claw" a few years back.

Gaffney > Willis, Caldwell, Hill, Stokley.

After yesterday's display, I think it's safe to say if Gaff gets even relatively healthy, he's easily the 3rd best receiver on the team.

Seems like exactly the type of WR that would excel with Manning. Crisp route runner and find holes in the zone. I know he is getting a little long in the teeth, Hell yeah bring him on in for a look.

Only thing is, I wonder how long it would take him and Manning to get on the same page.

NO, Stokely will get all his catches. We don't need him.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if either KFC or Oakland gets desperate and signs him.

Both teams could use a guy who can catch.

Bring him in
Tell him the opponents CBs had sex with his wife

But seriously unless he has just aged that much in the past two years he would be good depth

I want this

I remember everyone exclaiming how deep we were at WR when we let him and Lloyd go, then within weeks we were playing Tebow at WR. He is a great addition, unbiasedly would probably be our 3rd best receiver regardless of how bad we are hoping caldwell and stokley come around and look amazing.

Hell yes, replace Florrence with his ass, he's a much better corner!

I'm cool with it. I think he would definitely help the team. Have him return punts too, it couldn't be any worse then what we see now.

Sign him, I heard he was a number #1 receiver in this league.

After reading that I think we should pass on Gaffney for grammer reasons.

Shanahan and Belichick have now passed on Gaffney. That may say a little something about him.

You might be right, but if somehow, someway we could get Gaff and MJD, this offense could be epic.

still better than bubba and willis. This team needs a real #3 and I dont think it impacts Stokely that much

The top three are DT, Decker, and Stokley. Outside of injury Manning will only use those three guys.

Forget about adding any other WR's this late in the offseason, it's not Manning's way.

I would tend to agree. I just wonder if there's more to the story with this guy. He had a very good year with the Skins and then they had no interest in bringing him back. And then NE has nothing special at the position and he gets cut in the first wave. Just seems odd.

Ummmm, Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd? And Gronk and Hernandez, who are essentially WRs in TE bodies?

Like we had a QB who could get him the ball in the 1st 55 minutes of the game.

D'oh! Somehow I completely forgot about Welker! I wasn't counting Gronk and Hernandez since they're not technically WR's and they typically line up at least 2 WR's in addition to one or both of them. And Lloyd is good but he's really only had one great year in a 10 year career. So I see your point, and I was an idiot to forget Welker, but I still find it odd Gaffney didn't survive the first cutdown.

I still find it odd Gaffney didn't survive the first cutdown. It's the vet courtesy thing. Coaches often release vets as soon as they can in order to give them a chance to catch on somewhere else.

To be fair, so did the Pats when they decided who to give all these ridiculous contracts to the last few months.

Welker is 31. I don't envision the Pats giving up much money.

And for that matter, based on the numbers he puts up, it appears opposing defenses sometimes forget about him too. I call discrimination! It's because he's short and white!

unless Thomas or Decker are injured, pass. Gaffney doesn't play special teams.

If you see our WR depth chart, one injury to our top 2 and we in trouble! Stockely as our 3rd wideout at 36 years old is either amazing for him or we are ****ed when it comes to depth. Haven't seen Gaffney this year but he can't be worse than our 4th WO. We all know he wants the ball and Manning can get it to him.
