So if he comes out a picks apart the 49er's D, which I think was ranked 4th or better by everyone. Is that going to be enough to put away the doubt ?

This is the sneak peak game, right.

I mean he took a good hit last week and that wasn't good enough. They want to see more.

Oh and on a side note, anyone want to bet Ayers has a monster game tomorrow.

I think Sept 9th is the start of the how healthy is Manning spotlight. Denver admitted they didn't gameplan for this game.

Oh really I did not read that. Why is this? Any reasons ?

I put the blame squarely on the shoulders of McDaniels.

Manning will be up and down until he gets into a groove with his WR's, but once he does, I'm betting he lights it up. Our schedule is so God-awful difficult that 9 wins might be an achievement to be proud of, and might win the division. Even so, I have some confidence Manning will deliver a championship inside the next three seasons.

as of right now I have no doubt, In fact the only doubt I have is how are they going to put all the names on the trophy....... or is that hockey.... I have no idea.

Because the game doesn't matter. The preseason is supposed to be just for evaluating depth. I know people take the preseason seriously (as evident by TV ratings, for a practice game), but the Broncos just need to get through this game and the next, with minimal injuries...

I hope all our players have a great game. It sould be a vanilla scheme tomorrow just to mainly assess players are playing fundamentally sound ball per their position. Think we are taking a different approach this year to what we are doing in the pre season. Might have somthing to do with the camp changes no true two a days and all. Plus think they want to keep people guessing what we are going to be doing on both sides off the ball.

Now this is just my thoughts/gut feeling at this moment.

I always thought that there was a theory behind pre-season games.

First game play your starters for one series just to get the jitters off.

Second game play your starts for for one quarter to get that connection back with your players and get back up to game speed. Also it let's you see how your rookies play with the starters.

Third game was a sneak peak. You run some scripted plays. played your starts into the 3rd basically a test drive for the season.

fourth is the rookie show.

I still don't think we get the real Peyton until week 4. Like it or not this is still preseason and he is still working out the kinks. By week 4 he should be re-acclimated to the playing field.

I think people need to start coming to grips with the fact that Manning is not going to be the QB he was in Indy. He's not going to be the 300+ yds & 2+ TD's per game QB.

He's not going to be "picking apart defenses" - he'll be 200+ yds & 1TD/1NT per game. He'll manage the offense and put the broncos in a position to win - but he's not going to dominate and it will require an exceptionally great year on the defense in order to make the playoffs.

I'm pretty sure they are smart enough not to pay 20 mil a year for that.

He was an amazing QB in Indy but he's now on the downward slide of his career.

His time in Denver will be like Montana's time in KC. Peyton will probably average a ~85 rating in one or two years here. He'll have about 15-20 TD's and about 10 INT's each year. He may take us to 1-2 playoff games - maybe 1 win.

Again, it will be very similar to the Montana-in-KC years.

We could have gotten that production from Orton. If that is all we get I can't see the team continuing to pay him 20 million a year

Gee if that is the case maybe Denver should trade for another quality RB. Hmmmmmm I wonder who is available?

He got knocked down last week, he didn't get hit.
