And there are still people who hate it that players hold it. One play and you could be done.

Looked nasty as hell.

Still the worst I've ever seen is Johnny Knox last year.

Guess you didn't see Joe Theisman get his leg snapped in half, eh? ugh!~

Kuper's last year was as bad as this... that was against KC, too.

What about the kicker on AZ? I heard his leg snapped kicking the ball tonight.

You're right, I didn't. Hard to imagine it was as bad as Theisman's... with his broken tibia jutting out through the skin of his leg.

I'll see if I can find a clip of Knox...

Okay, saw it...

The Knox injury was more awful from the standpoint that he could easily have been paralyzed. Theisman's injury was more gory, IMO.

Mcgahee at Miami U was pretty bad

Mcgahee is still the worst for me.

None of the players even noticed he was hurt at first. They were walking off the field like it was a normal play. Poor bastard was just laying there in agonizing pain.

Yep, I'll never forget the day that happened. I remember Eddie saying he woke up in the hospital watching TV, wondering what the hell was happening.

One of the worst I ever saw was a game where San Francisco was playing Atlanta and Steve Young threw a pick. The Falcon player was returning the INT for what looked like a pick 6. Steve young goes flying down the field dives and hits the guys leg just right and it snapped and I swear to God his toe touched his knee.

I have yet to find a video of it online though.

Thank God you didn't. The most gruesome breaks are always the ones I find myself staring at. Like a bad car accident.

Brutal indeed.

Speaking of hockey, who was that tool that jumped on the back of that dude who was already knocked out cold and started slamming on him. Can't remember names, not a hockey fan but I remember that night and just thinking everybody watching wanted to kick that guys ass.

The Knox injury is the worst I've ever seen in football. That dude's spine got folded in half like a piece of paper.

OMG that was horrible. I felt so bad for Wilhite. He had a lot of talent but he was alway injured. And these weren't your typical hamstring injuries. Broken fingers, shoulders, knees everything. That Browner tackle was a horse coller and ended Wilhite's career.

Seriously -- it's like seeing a really gory scene in a horror movie, then realizing that it's ACTUALLY FREAKING HAPPENING! Even watching it on YouTube 20 years later, I had to cringe and cover my eyes.

Even more amazing was how composed the medical trainer was -- that guy is a friggin' superhero!

You're thinking of the borderline criminal assault by human garbage Todd Bertuzzi against Steve Moore of the Avalanche.

I read an article recently that knox was trying to make a come back to the nfl...after they 'stabilized' his vertabrae..crunch.

some of these leg injuries result in severed arteries also...thehyper extension results in a pinch or stretch of these elastic veins to the point that they fail or have to be reconstructed immediately...so its a very long rehab.
