Brilliant spelling for such a dry article.

No way a Fox team only carries 3 RBs.

Fail.

I think he did last year, with 1 on the PS. It started w/McGahee, Moreno and Ball on the roster and Johnson on the PS. When Moreno went on IR they called up Johnson and later signed Omon to the PS... I think.

Here's a rough sketch of how I see things possibly shaking out, although we can usually count in picking up a guy or two another team cuts.

(3) QB: Manning, Osweiler, Weber
(3) RB: McGahee, Hillman, Ball
(1) FB: Gronkowski
(6) WR: Decker, D.Thomas, Stokley, Caldwell, Willis, Hill
(3) TE: Dreessen, Tamme, J.Thomas
(2) C/G: Walton, Blake
(3) G: Beadles, Kuper, Ramirez
(4) OT: Clady, Franklin, Clark, Hills

(5) DE: Dumervil, Wolfe, Ayers, Jackson, Beal
(4) DT: Warren, Bannan, Vickerson, Unrein
(6) LB: Woodyard, Mays, Miller, Trevathan, Irving, Mohamed
(5) CB: Bailey, Porter, Harris, Florence, Bolden
(5) S: Moore, Adams, Carter, Leonhard, Bruton

(3) ST: Prater, Colquitt, Paxton

Susp: TE Green, LB Williams

Omon isn't practice squad eligible.

I say we run with 4 RBs.

No way Beal stays on our PS if he even makes it there. He's flashed way too much imo to not get picked up by somebody short on potential pass rushers.

Well I'd still take Moreno over Johnson or Ball.

We will have some interesting cuts. I don't see how Leonard or Brooking make the team. They haven't been able to play a down. I think Blake may come up with an injury.

Even though I think Moreno hasn't shown much.... If we keep 3 rb's Ball should be the one to go.

I didn't even finish reading this Article, all credibility was loss when they put Xavier Omon on the 'Practice Squad'... I've heard more than once Omon has been in the league long enough on multiple teams.. that he has 'no' eligibility left for the Practice Squad.

Its either make the 53-man roster or find another team.

They project Beal to make the team...it just says "practice squad" because that's what he did last year.

Interesting that Mason projects the Broncos to carry only 2 QB's, which frees up an extra spot on Defense. He did that with his last roster projection, so it may stick.

It's a good idea to keep Brooking around after the LB display against Seattle. Keeping Leonhard over Tony Carter is a good idea too.

Incorrect.

Why would CBS Sports borrow from docbear's blog?

If they did... i'm sure he'd fire off a terse email of condemnation!

I think errand is referring to a thread I made a few days ago that had "Brooking cut" in the thread title. That old thread was just an IAOFM projection.

Just so you know - that "Practice Squad" he put in parenthesis is not his projection of where Omon will end up. It is the player's status from last year (when Omon was on the practice squad). I think it is something the CBS site tags. For example, the site says this for the quarterbacks:

QB -- In: (2) Peyton Manning (free agent, Colts) and Brock Osweiler (second round, Arizona State).

His actual Practice Squad projections are at the bottom:

Leading practice-squad candidates -- (8) QB Adam Weber, WR Gerell Robinson, TE Anthony Miller, OL Adam Grant, OL Austin Wuebbels, DT Ben Garland, LB Steven Johnson, S Duke Ihenacho

That makes more sense. It would be nice to see Garland stick around. He's a good story. You want to see a guy like that make it. Anthony Miller has made some good catches. Shame to see him getting squeezed out by new guys coming in. But that's life in the NFL.

Any chance they try to move KM for a low round pick or will teams just wait to see if he is cut?

I think at this point, Hanie is bad so we could just roll with 2 QBs in Manning and Osweiler.

I think it would be prudent to have a 3rd QB for at least the 1st 6 games of the year, if Manning is still progressing or holding fast then we could think about dressing 2 or cutting Hanie. If Manning goes down we need a guy who knows how to call the plays and get the O to the line, Hanie sucks but he can do that much.

Pretty hard to argue with this. I'd like the Broncos to take a chance on Obiozor and Omon but they probably won't.

Hell, I'd like them to kick Gronkowski to the curb just to keep Omon and play Omon at FB but that probably won't happen. Shanny would do it, but not Fox.

I really don't like the whole "gotta have a fullback" line of thought either.
They could easily just line a TE up as a FB and keep that roster spot open for Moreno or Oman.

no way Weber makes the final 53 unless he outright wins the #2 QB position. Otherwise he is not that much better than someone new they could find and put on the ps as the 3rd QB. No reason to carry Weber as the 3rd QB. Only Osweiler could make the 53 as a 3rd QB.

I don't see Weber taking the #2 spot at the moment, so it is either 2 QBs on the 53 or 3 (if Hannie wins the #2 QB spot)

I am not sure Mohammed is going to make the 53. They might keep Franklin or Johnson instead. Johnson seems too slow, I though his lack of speed allowed a few big running plays by Seattle.

I don't know, they have Stokely starting and I liked what I saw from Hill in week 1. If we had Tebow then I would say no but unless they decide to cut Stokely, who has been playing well so far I think they keep all 6.

DT is bound to miss a couple games due to injury, Stokely is Mannings woobie, and they will want to rotate guys to keep them fresh so I see this happening.

Is Mohammed particularly fast? That may give him a slight advantage over Johnson and Franklin.

I don't know how you can say DT is going to miss a couple of games due to injury. He's either going to get injured or his dim-ass is going to under-try his way off of this team. Someone needs to figure out what makes that guy click. He's got the IQ of a watermelon and the drive of an early English sports car. Nearly hollow and bad wiring needs to find some substance and fuses. He reminds me of a Jaguar before Ford bought them.

Meanwhile, Stokely is still running in a supped up VW bug like he's winning the Baja. Difference? Desire. I say keep Stokely because PM has chemistry and let him loose before the groin injury and after he's shown Willis how to run routes.

Manning offense does not traditionally sub receivers, uhh, ever, and we'll probably never use 4WR sets either. Add in what will likely be heavy usage of 2 TE sets and 6 WR seems like a complete waste.

I think there might be 2 or 3 guys on the final 53 that arent even on the team right now. I could easily see them adding a veteran WR or LB to give them some much needed depth from other teams cuts that happen to have a wealth of talent there. A WR that can also be used on the PR would be nice
