Here is a quick partial list of Elected Dems with issues with children, teens, or young interns (in no particular order).

Rep Fred Richmond (D-NY)

Arrested for soliciting sex from a 16 year old boy. Apologized for bad judgements in his personal life. Was easily re-elected. He did have to resign a few years later when he got caught with drugs and tax evasion.

Rep Gary Studds (D-Mass)

Key figure in the 1980’s congressional page scandals. Had sex with 17 year old boy. Newt Gingrich tried to get him expelled from congress, but only got a slap on the hand censure. Studds refused to apologize, voters in his liberal district forgave him any way. Continued to be re-elected for the next 12 years.

Sen Brock Adams (D- Wash)

Seattle Times ran stories about the daughter of a long time friend of the family accusing him of sexual assault. Kari Tupper claimed that she went to Sen Adams house to get him to end pattern of harassment, but he drugged and sexually assaulted her. Adams denied and claimed they were only talking about her future employment opportunities. A few weeks later 8 other women came forward with similar stories of Adams having a 20 year history of drugging and raping women. Adams resigned.

Gov Neil Goldshmidt (D- Oregon)

Admitted to sexual abusing a 14 year old girl for 9 months. Confessed in a letter to the editor of the Portland newspaper, after the statute of limitations expired. Moved to France to escape stigma.

State Sen Minority Whip Dan Sutton (D-SD)

Censured for sexual misconduct with a 19 year old male page. Offered the teenage page a place to stay for the 1-2 weeks a year he served as a page. Says he was awoken when Sutton started fondling him. Sen Sutton was given a stern scolding by the senate and re-elected.

Rep Gus Savage (D-Ill)

Fondled Peace Corp volunteer while in Zaire. Called story a lie and blamed his political enemies , the Jews, and the racist media. House ethics committee decided that the events did occur, be declined to take any disciplinary action, because Rep Savage wrote a letter saying he never intended to offend her. He was re-elected, but lost a couple years later in a primary to Mel Reynolds.

Rep Mel Reynolds (D-Ill)

Speaking of Mel Reynolds, he was indicted on charges of having sex with a 16 year old female campaign worker and pressuring her to lie about it. Played the race card as best as he could, and was easily re-elected. Was convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice, and child pornography. While in prison he was convicted of unrelated charges of bank fraud and lying to the SEC. Received presidential pardon from Bill Clinton.

Pres Bill Clinton (D-AK)

Speaking of Bill Clinton. Sexual misconduct with 22 year old intern Monica Lewinsky, was discovered during Paula Jones lawsuit. Jones was attempting to show a pattern of abuse and sexual relations with subordinate government employees. Lies and cover-ups around sex scandal investigation led to the house voting to impeach him. Clinton was later disbarred. Many argue that it’s just sex, no big deal, but sex with subordinates in the business world is considered unethical and has led to many CEOs and company presidents being fired for much less than Clinton. Clinton continues to be very popular with media, democrats, and even non partisan general population.

Lied about affair with 23 year old intern Chandra Levy. Affair was discovered after Levy was murdered. His lies about the affair made him a suspect in her murder.

John Wayne Gacy (D-Ill)

As Democrat Precinct Chairman had his picture taken with Rosalyn Carter. Volunteered with and very involved in local Democrat party. Raped and murdered 25-35 boys and young men.

That’s a start, there are more if you want to google it. Lots of other interesting stories could go into lists of dem activists, party chairman, appointments, lobbyists, Dem special interest group officials. Etc.. that have convictions for child porn, molestation, rape, prostitution etc.

Could also start another list of Dems that have interesting sex scandals that don’t involve minors, or interns. (Weiner, Barney Frank, Jerry Springer)
How about a list of the sexual crimes and exploits of the Dem royal family (Ted Kennedy, JFK, RFK, Michael Skakel Kennedy, William Kennedy Smith)

Whatever though I still don't see a 17 yr old being young enough to be called a pedophile. Its more when someone attracted to a person who hasn't gone through puberty, or just has, you know someone like 13-14 or under etc etc.

Wow until 26? I wonder what the projection are on kids 18-26, that won't have a parent to latch on to, that wont have a job that provides it. You know 18-26 forced to either purchase, pay the fine, or use the subsidy to get insurance.

Obviously they ran numbers and say way to many without letting them latch onto to parents longer.

People have no idea what a huge tax raise this already is going to be. I wonder how much premiums, copays, deductibles, etc etc will be up 5 yrs from today?

Rep. Kerry Gauthier, 56, hasn't been charged in the July incident, and authorities said he wouldn't be because the boy was older than 16, the legal age of consent, and no money was exchanged.

It's really creepy, but it's not illegal. If I were him, I'd step down simply because of the blowback (pun intended), but if you want to criticize someone...how about the people who made the age of consent law 16? Dems or Reps, whoever voted for it...it's like raising the speed limit to 100 mph and then getting mad when an elected official gets caught doing 90.
