He's a ****ing idiot who clearly doesn't understand basic biology and is willing to say anything to defend his unsubstantiated beliefs.

Also the other candidate I hear skirted a bunch of taxes on her plane. Used taxpayer money on the plane. She has an ethics investigation going on about. Funny considering how concerned you all are with taxes right now. So some religious nut gets an opening because the Senator for Missouri was flying around on the taxpayers money, in a plan she didn't even pay the property tax on as required by her state.
At least Romney never been busted like this. IMO neither of these candidates fit to be a US Senator. Also this McCaskil another one of those career politicians. We need to move away from that.

I guess people in your area feel someone who cheats on his taxes is worst. Dems should have put up a cleaner candidate. I agree though on abortion. I detest and do believe it is borderline murder. People who use it as birth control make me sick to my stomach and once a woman has her 2nd abortion, I basically have no sympathy for them. They are gutter trash. But....... I also though have resigned to the fact we have to make them available and legal.
I just don't see it as an issue the country can afford to argue you about every ****ing yr. Then if we make it illegal, just creates a black market dead baby industry I frankly shudder to imagine.
Then is case of rape or incest, then obviously the woman needs help and those are the only abortions i can agree with public money ever being used on. But this other senator flew around in her plan and charged the taxpayers money for it. Then they didn't pay the tax on it each yr like she was supposed to.
What a crappy dynamic duo you have to choose from.
I agree though some comment about how a sperm and egg know the difference between rape and consensual sex would be a deal breaker for me. I could not vote for that.
I can't really vote for young earthers either. Its hard for fiscal conservatives to deal with the the religious nuts in the party. They are uncompromising.

Only if we want our government to be hopelessly inept and worthless. That idea always makes me laugh. Exactly. My wife (who has a degree in Political Science) and I were actually discussing this just last night. Everyone always talks about voting out all the politicians, but...they're really the only ones who know what is going on. If you voted everyone out and replaced them with average Joes, this country would collapse upon itself within the hour. Not to mention we'd be invaded.

*** The GOP’s draft platform language opposes abortion, even in cases of rape: First Read has confirmed a CNN report that the draft language on abortion in the Republican Party's official platform calls for the "Human Life Amendment," which would outlaw abortion in all circumstances (even in cases of rape or incest). An RNC official tells us that a full committee will vote on this draft language -- which was THE SAME LANGUAGE in 2004 and 2008 -- tomorrow, and the full convention will take it up on Monday. On Sunday night, after Todd Akin's controversial comments on abortion and rape first surfaced, the Romney campaign stated that a Romney-Ryan administration "would not oppose abortion in instances of rape." But that statement would run counter to the RNC's official platform, if the language is again adopted. Of course, this now means that George W. Bush, John McCain, and Mitt Romney have disagreed with the party’s plank on abortion. But the timing for Romney and Republican Party couldn’t be any worse. Indeed, Romney’s biggest problem heading into the fall election could very well be the Republican brand, and it has become harder for him to differentiate himself from the brand when he added a high-profile House Republican to his ticket.

That's the truth whatever Romney now wants to say. 150 Republican congressman voted for a bill that would allow abortions only for "forcible rape", as if there were some other kind. (Mercifully, the language was later stripped from the bill.) The distinction is designed to prevent women citing rape as a reason for abortion when there is no sign of physical trauma. It's a disgusting form of contempt for women's autonomy and integrity - and a truly despicable soft tolerance of all other kinds of sexual coercion. Remember the words of the mainstream pro-life figure John C Willke:
When pro-lifers speak of rape pregnancies, we should commonly use the phrase "forcible rape" or "assault rape," for that specifies what we're talking about. Rape can also be statutory. Depending upon your state law, statutory rape can be consensual, but we're not addressing that here.
Here's what Romney said about Willke in 2007: "I am proud to have the support of a man who has meant so much to the pro-life movement in our country." Someone should ask Mitt: is he still proud that his party platform is basing its social policy on the views of a man who thinks "statutory rape can be consensual"?
But in many ways, these nuances are just helpful signs of how the fundamentalist psyche thinks - it is always trying to tidy up the messy realities of human experience to conform to its eternal diktats. The real point is that the GOP platform would make all abortions, including those caused by rape and incest, illegal in every state by constitutional amendment. It would not just allow the states to decide, but insist on a national ban. As on gay rights, and medical marijuana, the GOP has total contempt for federalism.
Until this incarnation of the Republican party is destroyed at the polls, we live in its thrall. We have in this election an opportunity not just to re-elect a president capable of making the Grand Bargain we all need; but to punish and humiliate the most extreme, irrational, hateful version of Republicanism that now stalks the land, led by a brazen liar and fathomless cynic.
It's an opportunity of a lifetime: to use this election to try and destroy the fundamentalist insanity that has effectively destroyed any American conservatism worthy of the name. Former Republicans, Independents and all non-fundamentalists, Christians and Jews and Muslims, have a chance to excise this metastasizing cancer from our politics.

are you pissed because AKIN shined a bright light on your party's pathetic policies towards women................AKIN was a small thing compared to the bigger picture.

I could care less frankly. Never heard of the guy before now. I do care though that the two parties are spending tons of money to confuse voters. The Democrats helped this guy win because they knew the other republicans running were better candidates and not as conservative.
Whatever down the road it will be some democrat getting screwed by this same problem. But I bet then you will be outraged.

This whole story BS now that I have looked into it. For one the Republican party did not want Akin to win his primary. Guess who did want him to win? Friggin demos spent almost 2 million dollars helping Akin win because they knew he was a dumbass.
You're right. It is all bull****.
The real story should be that other Republicans have asked him to quit the race not because what he said was reprehensible and wrong in every way but because he's hurting the party.

It is true, MSNBC and story about it. The Democrats in followed that old Republican tactic of supporting a "weaker" candidate in primaries. I find that tactic in open primaries as crappy, but it is legal.

No I am saying that most Republicans want politicians who aren't this radical on abortion. The dems knew this guy was so they did everything they could in an open primary to help him win.

Once again LABF you said republicans don't hold their politicians accountable. I asked to see one story that can compare to what the dems did with Kennedy. He killed a girl, in a drunken stupor, waited 9 hours to tell the authorities. You would think that would kill a career in DC.....but no the dems decide he is a pillar of their party. Someone to be made an icon. Let's vote him in to the Senate over and over for decades to reward him for being a killer of young women and a slimeball that saves his own ass over a woman.
I figured you people could at least find a few examples that were close to this. But all you can do is blame bush again?

BS Bush did more for poor kids in Africa then most other Presidents. He cared about starving kids. Conservatives do more for the poor through religious groups then liberals can muster.
I'm not religious but some people I know that are even go on missions to dig wells in poor areas, build houses etc etc. The notion conservatives don't help the poor is a joke. We just realize what all the social programs actually do for the poor. They are meant to keep them poor and dependent on govt. Its how liberals keep power. While on the other side repubs try to let business make money, to keep power. But the funny thing is Americans who are conservative probably give more to charity then liberals.

there is a point to be made for a republican forcing a woman to have a child then after that they don't give a chit what happens to it and by that I mean their attacks on programs that have been in place for decades.
They are using the debt they helped create as a platform to roll back every one of these praograms they can while helping the rich all the way............just dispicable

You won't believe this one. Not only does he define rape as simply another form of conception, but in pawning off the whole issue of rape and abortion on Romney, he clearly implies that he does not support abortion in the instances of incest or to save a mother's life.
