That's a horrible half there by the offense. We are not going to win many games giving over three times in the first half. Good effort by the defense.

Whatever. They wont always fumble balls, drop wide open touchdowns, and have deflection picks. Peyton threw one horrible pass and that was it. As far as im concerned, we were good enough to put the ball in on the 2 minute drill. Had a nice drive earlier. A little sloppy, but this is the preseason. Theres no real reason to be discouraged here.

Not exactly a precise passing game by the O. Had to keep Peyton in the entire first half.

I hope Manning shakes all the rust by the time the season starts, I think the year off has more to do with it than anything else. He's had some good throws, but more bad throws than I'm used to seeing from him.

Well Manning's throwing is fine but I'd rather take the three rather than have another sure TD dropped

I think he maybe thought that final TO had been used, but the refs gave it back.

He was 16 of 23 with a couple of drops. He should have had two long td drives. He essentially had ONE bad throw. I dont know how "rusty" he is right now.

I'm sure there's plenty of talk in this thread about Peyton and receiver drops, so I'll go elsewhere:

The Indy stretch run play doesn't seem to be in our offense. That's pretty lame. Also, why wasn't McGahee on the field at all after his TD? Makes you think Ball is going to see plenty of playing time this year, no?

Would have liked the back shoulder fade inthe endzone to DT or Deck. Work that timing out now. Also would have liked to try the corner route to DT again from the 20 or so.

Wolfe is a beast! Doom held on almost every passing attempt. Saw at least one obvious one on Miller as well.

Refs are atrocious. Guarantee this game has a fight if they don't get this shiat under control!

Not worried at all about Peyton. Two picks were batted at the line. One in particular was the result of Beadles not tying his man up.

The one was his fault, of course.

66% completions after a year and a half with no game action is pretty damn good.

I think Manning looked pretty good for someone who's been out of football for a long time. I doubt that any of the work he did while he was hurt or even in training camp can compare to live game action. It looked like he got better as the half went along. Started slow, had that INT in the red zone, had that bad overthrow, but looked pretty good in the 2 minute drill even with the two drops.

The offense is not consistent - but the Broncos showed flashes of awesomeness. I think this will continue into the season - he won't be as flawless as we're used to, but it's fun to watch.

I agree. People are throwing out the word "rusty," but other than that one crap throw, he looked fine to me. Good enough for two long TD drives (Tamme's drop is an anomaly.) I agree. I think if it were the normal refs they would have just ran in there and grabbed both guys. Walton didn't throw a blow or do anything malicious. I think that's a simple no call there. Saw a horrible call in that Raiders/Cards game to. CB comes up and uses his shoulder and hits the WR in the shoulder and some how it's a 15 yarder. These replacement guys suck. Pay the real refs NFL. You guys are making a friggin killing. You can afford to pay these guys a little more.

Refs have been milktoast to say the least. Lots of energy on the field alsoafter getting pushed around in training camp, there is nothing like going at an opponent with some bottled up frustration/anxiety. Pete doesnt strike me as a character role model anyway, but this gives you some insight into how he puts his camp together.

People need to realize that turnovers are often anomalies. Deflected passes, fumbles. Its not a symptom of poor offensive execution/design...etc. Would it make people feel THAT much better if Tamme caught a pass he'll catch 99 out of 100 times? its the preseason. Actually, if Decker and Thomas continue to be unreliable targets that can't catch hold onto important balls like they were throughout last season it will be a huge problem for this offense and for the franchise.

It would have meant that the team mortgaged its future for nothing, lied to Manning about the talent they would surround him with and it will negatively impact our ability to draw marquee free agents to the team in the future.

I've leaned this way the entire time, the offense had giant holes last year in literally every area imaginable and it still has those exact same holes except at quarterback (and even that may not be as solid as the dreamers here have thought).

The line sucks, the backs were nothing special and will only regress without the threat of Tebow running, and now it looks like Decker and Thomas still are who we thought they were.

Tebow had drops for days, including many obvious touchdowns from Decker and Thomas and he was railroaded for his completion percentage constantly.

Completion percentage is quite possibly the most overblown and meaningless statistic imaginable. Manning has a -3 turnover differential and throwing three interceptions is and always will be unacceptable.

Demaryius Thomas, I believe, lead all receivers in yards (or something) over his last 8 games? I could be making that up, but there's some stat thats like that. They also barely threw and when they did, the ball was all over the place. Im not concerned about it. Not even a little.

Because he's getting swarmed behind the line of scrimmage tonight?

No, just because he isn't needed. He's too fragile and rarely shows anything worthy of his draft position.

There are younger and cheaper options on the roster that are just as good.

ThirtyDegrees

Im not concerned about it. Not even a little.

Well, you should be, because Thomas and Decker were statistically two of the worst receivers in the league in drop rate.

http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/01/17/drop-rate-2011-which-receivers-are-dropping-the-ball/

When Tebow threw "catchable passes" to Decker and Thomas the ball was dropped 15% of the time. That takes Tebow's accuracy completely out of the equation. They couldn't catch the balls they were supposed to nearly 1/5 times they were thrown their way.

Decker & Thomas aren't on the Jets. Here's a link for you
www.thegangreen.com

You're right, they're on our team; and they are massive liabilities that everyone seems to wash their hands of by scapegoating Tebow.

So did the protection. New trend in preseason seems to be vanilla offenses vs full blitz defenses. Seattle looks like they intend to be a problem for SF to overcome this year. D looks really good.

holy crap we got rolled over on

In the second half only ..... the first half was fine outside of the three TOs and four dropped passes, and even then we were ahead 10 to 9 at the half when the ones on both sides were done. So that's about 3 quarters in which our first team D has not allowed a TD yet.

Our first team D played well and held Seattle without a TD in spite of giving them the ball twice inside our territory.

Was sloppy as most second preseason games are, but some good things to build on too. Am not worried at all. Plus on D we didn't have Vickerson either in the rotation and he'll be back next week.

The second half was mostly a fail across the board.. am glad half those guys will be lipping burgers in two weeks.

Somewhat diapointing game. However, it's not like they are going to show our hand in the preseason. We are just running a bland offensive scheme and will until it's for real.

Our defense continues to look good. They can give up field goals all day. If we lose to field goals...I'll be shocked!

Russell Wilson beat us with his feet. Most other QB's would have been sacked 4-5 times at least.

Beal looked good. He had several QB pressures and at least one tackle for a lost. Jackson played well also.

Orange Julius dropped a nice ball by Osweiler. I just don't see it with him.

Fatty Lumpkin, one of those ponies from the Tolkien Trilogy.

Man, you win a leaf of Lothlorien for that one.

Seattle is going to have a pretty envious QB problem brewing. They got a player in Wilson.

Have you ever been to Seattle?

They have pretty good beer there.

I'm envious of the Sounders fan base. Other than that, terrible sports city.

I think Denver has better beer a skiing. Seattle has the ocean though. And it's clean... high suicide rates, and blue skies are a rarity, though.

Hey, I was a jock but I'm a big fan of literature. I'm currently re-reading Charles Dickens' "The Pickwick Papers". Gotdang that Dickens was talented. Pickwick Papers is underrated.

Peyton doesn't look near as good as he was before the injury. Dude is struggling.

You didn't even watch the game. Your just using stats to argue again. Manning has looked very good other than one throw.
