Manning's always had his #1 guy. It was Marvin Harrison, then Reggie Wayne (with Clark being 1A). I don't quite see Decker as a guy like those two that could stretch the field for big plays but he's also more than just a possession guy. He'll see a lot of balls, that's for sure.

I still question whether Decker has the ability to stretch the field and the size and strength to be an elite no. 1 WR (Johnson, Fitz, or even a Marvin Harrison in his prime.) Of course, route-running, timing and the cerebral parts of the game are really important too. I guess time will tell.

Janie is a Colorado “semi-native” who grew up in the heart of Nebraska and moved to Denver at the age of 12. As you can imagine, football was in her blood since birth, having been born a mere five miles away from Memorial Stadium, home of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She was only a few years old during the Nebraska dynasty of the mid-90s, but she remembers it well. Now in her early 20s, Janie is working toward earning her bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her goal is to join the community development department of an NFL franchise and work to build mutually beneficial relationships between the team and local nonprofit organizations. Denver Broncos football is king in the Mile High City, and Janie has come to fully embrace that passion and love for the team over the past ten years.

Decker doesn't have to be Marvin Harrison, all he has to be is Pierre Garcon. By all accounts, he and Peyton have been giving Champ fits this week in camp. Things are starting to come together. If you don't have elite ability, you better have great timing.

Judging by the latest reports from Dove Valley, the Manning/Decker combo is well on it's way to making completions at crucial times against the best CB's...and that's all they really need to do.

then again if the pass would have been delivered .2 seconds earlier....he'd have caught it in stride, and wouldn't have needed to make sure both feet were down.......

I just ran into that play a few days ago. It was piss poor footwork no matter how many excuses you make for it. But he was young. Hopefully he learned the "you're not in college anymore" lesson from that one.

The ball was perfect. Any pro receiver dead legs it and comes down with it. Manning would have put the ball in the same spot. Why? Because it is the right spot for that pass. Only the WR can get it and it is completely catchable. Decker f'd the pooch on that one and if he f's the pooch like that with Manning he will get pilloried. Just chalk Tebow's perfect ball up to "even a blind dog finds a bone" and the hateboner can live on.

IF Eric Decker and Peyton Manning are both able to stay healthy for 16 games, it wouldn't surprise me to see Decker snag 90 to 100 receptions on the season.

I don't know if Decker will be able to stay healthy enough to play 16 games and take that many hits.

And I'm not a homer....I simply see Eric Decker as Peyton's favorite target once the season starts.

16 games x 6 receptions a game = 96 receptions on the season....seems feasible to me.

He's going to be dropping Upper Deckers all over AFC West opponents this year.

Decker doesn't have to be an elite #1 receiver to be very valuable. I'm going to get eaten alive for this comparison, but look at Jordy Nelson. Without Rodgers, Brees, Manning or Brady, he's not putting up those numbers. Barring injury, the guy is going to have a great year. It's written all over him. He's got a solid frame, he doesn't have elite speed but he's quick, he's got a positive demeanor and seems to have a great work ethic, he's building a good connection with Manning already, and before Tebow arrived he was noted as having excellent hands in college. What was that stat? One drop all year in his senior year?

I'll tell you what else, DT looked good in camp (when i saw him). Like a god damned beast. A BEAST. Like top 5 WR in the league.

Yeah, i think our receivers are going to be just fine.. next.

I really like Decker but, wonder if he can stay healthy enough esp being #1 target of Manning.

So the real question is...for fantasy...who is the better Denver wideout? Decker or DT? DT will assuredly be drafted earlier, but might Decker have comparable, or even better, numbers in a PPR league?

That's my concern in regards to Eric Decker.

IF he can stay healthy for 16 games, he will have a monster season.

If the team even thinks about making him our punt returner this season, they need their nuts booted up their asses.

Actually I do see a little Vance in him although Vance was much faster and had better hands. They are the same type of receiver.

Good grief...there is no "favorite" target. Its just targets. Peyton will hit them all.

Peyton is famous for only hitting players he trusts. If Thomas does not improve his route running he could be invisible in this offense.
