That's a tough injury. Still, some players are made of glass. Ryan Mathews is one of those players. I thought he was underwhelming even when he was healthy.

No Jackson, no Mathews. Dielman gone. McNeil replaced with brokedick Gaither.

You guys look to be in trouble boltaneer. The WR from SD State looks really good though. A good silver lining for you guys after the news tonight.

I believe that is 4-6 weeks from now, not the start of the season. That would mean he is back anywhere from the first to the third game of the season. But damn, I don't know that I'd want to expose a freshly healed clavicle immediately to the pounding a RB takes in the NFL.

That's the thing. It'll probably be closer to week three than week 1. Those things take time and they don't start pounding on it immediately.

He can come back from that but this is the risk you run when you dump all your other good runners. Sproles, Tolbert, hell going all the way back to Turner.

Gates looked really good though. Doubt I can get him in fantasy but he is pretty high on my overall board.

They didn't dump Tolbert. Tolbert went to Carolina for less money.

I've always liked Ronnie Brown. I'm sure he's not the same RB he was 3-4 years ago but the Eagles hardly used him last year so he should be ready to handle a full load again.

I wouldn't expect Mathews to contribute anything until probably almost half way through the season. Maybe he should borrow TO's hyperbaric chamber. :flower:

Not worried at all yet.

These injuries will probably slow down the offense and make it less explosive but as long as Rivers is in there, they'll still put up a lot of points.

It's the defense, I'm concerned about this year.

Mathews and Moreno can go start a cell phone kiosk together if they keep going like this. :)

Weird Tolbert bailed like that. Especially to Panthers as they have rbs already.

Whats the deal? In any event not a good start for Chargers preseason. But Gates does look good. I bet he can outplay Gronk for stats this yr.

Tolbert is from the North Carolina area. He wanted to move back home and play there. I actually have a lot of respect for him for doing that.

Plus, I didn't really care if he left or not. ;)

Looks like Chargers pass a lot this yr. :) I don't think Mathews was going to have the yr people thought anyways. He's streaky and had yet to put together say 10 solid games in a row. Still though not good for the Bolts. Better this game then last preseason game though.

I liked Tolbert though. Hard nosed runner. On your defense I agree with you. Chargers might not have what it takes to get people into the situations that there pass rushers are good at. They are sort of situational pass rushers IMO. Phillips being the one exception but Im not sure he is an elite pass rusher. I think he needs the whole defense playing good to get his sacks.

Can they stop the run well enough to get teams into passing downs.

Did you see Melvin Ingram? Dude is a monster. Hit Aaron Rodgers while throwing, caused an interception.

Ran down a screen play.

His motor is ridiculous. He just keeps going. He was all over the field.

Bad news, but at least it happened early so there is time for contingency plans. Let me tell you guys though, Melvin Ingram looked like a monster against the Packers 1st team. And seeing Gates run like he used to was awesome. I'm psyched.
