For the 4th straight year, I'll be churning out constant updates on twitter. If you're unable to go, and wish to read several hundred updates, follow @Luke_Perez for the Saturday. Just like every year the scrimmage has existed, I will get there 2-3 hours early and will put out around 1000 tweets throughout the practice. Cheers

Just warmups for now, scrimmage starts at 1700. DJ won't be playing since he won't be starting the season, Quinton Carter is out. It's just a scrimmage, one's against two's, then two's against one's, some mixing later maybe. Just an audition and there won't be any booing like when Orton came into his audition at Mile High. Which was a shameful moment in Bronco history.

Me either. In fact, RT, in general, is starting to make me nervous. To bad there's not a Gary Zimmerman to trade for this preseason. I'd love to just move Franklin to guard and have a sweet tackle anchoring the right side. I thought Eric Winston would have made a lot of sense for us when he was originally cut, but i suppose there's no use discussing that.

THAT was a lot of fun! Great to have been part of Bronco's history. Over 41,000 in attendance. Even had to open the nosebleed section to allow people in!

We got there around 11:30 and a line was already forming outside the gate. But I wasn't going to stand there for 4 hours. We parked on the West side of the stadium, right behind The Sports Fan shop. Didn't pay anything but when we left I saw others had cards on their windshields and there was a sign at the driveway that said $20 PARKING! Whew!!

First thing we did was went into the Team Shop and picked up some T-shirts. Then we walked around and finally got in line around 2:30. Line started moving right before 3 but we came in on the East side of the stadium. Knew the sun would be brutal so we began to wind our way to the West side which was filling up fast. Looked up and saw a lot of seats and shade in the 300 section and decided to find a way up there. Got into an elevator and some other guest relations guy. Pressed 3 and said, "You don't have wrist bands." I said, "No." And then the doors opened. Some lady was there and the guy said "These folks don't have wristbands. 3 is club level and you can't be here." I said I was just looking for some shade and pointed to my two kids. They let me off the elevator and the lady said she'd find us a way back down (I think they misunderstood). So I basically got a tour of the club level, smelled a LOT of great food, saw the cheerleaders and eventually was escorted back down to the main level.

Found some seats in the south stands and then watched the practice. Pretty awesome! Manning looked great. Hanie sucks. The two plays that really stuck in my memory were 1.) Manning is just absolutely swarmed by defenders and I thought for sure he was toast (probably would have been in a real game) but his arm pops up from that mass of humanity and tosses a completed pass. Unreal. 2.) A quick lob to Decker in the endzone for a TD. Smooth as silk. I think this year will be fun to watch!

Enjoyed the skydivers into the stadium at the end, too. Kids and I were thrilled with the day!

Did anyone see a player get carted off? DMac from 104.3 The Fan said he heard Fannin got carted off. He is not an impact Player by any stretch but it probably kills his career if he had a serious injury again, at least with Denver. Would be a shame.

I saw the cart (green flatbed car-thing) backing up toward the players from the south entrance which at the time I thought was weird. Looked to me like when a cart is called for a player on gameday; but they weren't moving it terribly fast and I figured it was just precautionary and redirected my attention to the field. So I never did see anyone get put on it but if what you say is true, it would make sense of what I saw.

Fannin definitely had something with his knee or ankle... he was quite hobbled and came off immediately, but I was on the opposite side of the stadium so I didn't see the cart come for him.

Great to see the ovations for Ed Mc and Rod... was hoping TD would show up too.

1. The Offense showed several different formations, mostly out of a single back set (sometimes with '12' personnel, sometimes with 3 WR's, or trips).
2. Manning was sharp in 7-on-7's. I think he completed all of them (McGahee, DT, Decker, Tamme).
3. The #1 Offense went 3 and out the first 2 series, then took a drive all the way down the field (a couple catches from Tamme, a catch from DT), culminating in a 3rd and goal, with Manning gyrating pre-snap...quick fade to Decker left side for 6.
4. 1st team Defense completely shut down the #2 Offense (with inept Hanie).
5. Dumervil sacked Hanie on 3rd down on the first series, with Derek Wolfe providing pressure right in Hanie's grill.
6. Hunter was in on the action with a couple of stops.
7. Woodyard had a tackle in the backfield on a wide run right on 3rd and short.
8. Porter gave up a 3rd down completion for a first down...with soft coverage.

After the game I walked down with my 6 year old to get an autograph on his new Bronco hat.

1. Talked to Caldwell and Hunter briefly...good guys.
2. Had a long conversation with Ryan Harris. He doesn't fast during football season (either makes up the days later, or feeds people in charity). He said some of the lighter guys (like Hamza Abdullah) do fast during Ramadan even if it's during the season. I asked him if he was starting this year. He said "I hope so". I hope so too. We shook hands.
3. DT came over and was smiling and waving at my 6 year-old son. When DT got to us, he gave my son a high-five, and signed the brim of his cap. What a great moment! After that, we left to give the other people a chance :)

Had a great time at the Broncos scrimmage on Saturday. Impressions: Peyton's arm strength is FINE - don't listen to all the Chefs and Raiders fans.:loser: He made some really nice throws and audibles at the line of scrimmage. In particular, the TD to Decker and a nice deep ball to Caldwell. (The Manning-Caldwell connection could be a good one, and it's flying pretty much under the radar.) Stokely also caught a nice ball where Peyton put it where only he could catch it.

Other bright spots: McGahee made some nice runs, with a particularly nice stiff-arm of Drayton Florence. The defense overall looked pretty good. My big concern would be our O-line at this point. Even against the second team D, Peyton had almost no time to throw. They're going to have to solidify that, or we're going to be in trouble. I'd like to say it's because even our 2nd-team defense is that awesome, but that's probably wishful thinking.

Overall, other than the O-line, the team's looking to be in great shape and I'm so pumped for the season. Good times all around!

P.S. I'm still married even after taking the wife there on our anniversary.

Yeah, totally. Because O-linemen never blow their assignment, even with a single play called. Everyone knows audibling in the cozy confines of a noise-free NFL stadium is risk-free and foolproof. Never leads to mistakes. And a system that audibles basically every play is even less at risk of a miscommunication or blown assignment. No adjustment for an o-line at all. Like what to do when they can't hear a word Peyton's saying? I think there's an app for that.

No learning curve whatsoever. Simple.
