Here at training camp again. Much better seats this time. I'm sitting behind the shade of trees near the 50. I should have a better report of the o-line and d-line. The near corner of the endzone is blokes from my view, so hopefully they won't throw any corn fades today. Report coming this afternoon.

I'm hoping that your bloked view doesn't diminish the quality of your report.

Try to get an unobstroketed view, if you can.

The Corn fade is a vastly under-rated play that really has only been utilized effectlvely by Nebraska.

Special teams:
Special teams drill started with the returners holding towels under their pits. I think the point of the drill was to improve their form when catching punts. I'm guessing you don't want space between your elbows and ribs for the ball to squirt out. Dell, Bolden had drops to start the drill. Decker had no drops.

Edit: DAMN YOU AUTO-CORRECT!!!

QBS :
Manning: Another great day for Manning. Has complete control of the offense. At one point was talking to Decker about how he wanted him to run a route on a play. Manning and Decker hooked up on a great play over the middle off a deep post. It was good for30 yards. Manning have a hiccup during mid-morning scrimmage. Manning went 0-3. One was a throw way because of great coverage down field. Second was to McGahee who dove but came up empty. Last was to Stockley on a deep post. Looked like Stockley slowed down or was grabbed but came up short. Manning was pissed after that series.

C Hanie: Weak day. Made a lot of safe plays.
B Oswieler: Had a better day. On one play showed great touch by dropping a pass between two defenders toward the sideline(note: WR did have have a 6 yard cushion between defenders).
A Webber: Worst day so far. Threw into coverage a couple of times. No interceptions but no confidence.

Thank you!

I think the picture being painted early in this camp is that Brock is our #2. Leaving a question mark of whether we'll see Haine stay on at a 3 spot or if he gets cut and Weber goes back to the PS. I really think Brock is raw, but from what I've seen and read, sounds like he is already on the same level, if not better than Haine. I would predict Haine gets the axe... but again, still very early.

Right on Hobo. I already consider Brock the back up. Just a matter of time before Hanie is formally number 3.

I see you saw the same things I did. I watched the line more today just because I didn't get to see them last time, but Manning started out kind of off today for sure.

RB:
Had a much better view today. Most of the run plays were draws and stretch runs.

W McGahee: Ran hard. Went through pass catching drills and and did well.

R Hillman: Man this guy is fast! And he has some good vision and made a nice cutback to the oppsite field.

K Moreno: Made a nice catch on a swing pass from Manning. Still wearing a knee brace. Hopfully he'll be full strength soon.

L Ball: Not much from Ball. Solid. Made a swing pass catch.

M Fanin: Slow, no confidence in seeing the hole.

FB:
C Gronkowski: Mostly iso blocks no passes caught.

A Sylvester: No notes

WR:

E Decker: Had a great day! Durning mid-morning scrimmage, ran a deep post over the middle with two defenders around him and Manning threads the needles between them to Decker.

D Thomas: Had only two drops. Both against Champ. Both durning 1-1. 1 was a 9 route that bounced off his chest and then knocked away by Champ. The other was an "out" that hit him in the hands.

B Stockley: Made the catch of the day during tip drill. Juggled it twice and reached behind him and laid out to make the catch. Had a good day. Fan favorite. Most everybody cheered him when he made a catch drill or scrimmage.

Note: Most of the other WR had a lot of drops today. Even during drills, WR had drops.

TE:

J Tamme: Lead the group today. Caught most everything today. He can get open deep and has a connection with Manning.

J Dreesen: Had a bad drop that hit his hands. Definitely the #2 TE on this team. Can't get as much separation from defenders as well as Tamme but can make some moves out there.

V Green: He still fights the ball when thrown at. Had a couple of drops. Just not a natural hands catcher.

J Thoams: I'm starting to lose faith in "Orange" Julius here. Ran lazy out there. Made no catches.

C Ingram: Made a catch. Maybe PS material?

A Miller: No notes.

OL:

Even though I had a better view today. I've always had diffcult time watching the OL play. I can report that the OL had a harder time today: combined with better coverage down field the OL gave up some sacks to the defense. The defense was doing a lot more blitzing today. I also saw that Kuper was in the lineup but he did come off a couple of times for water(maybe a little oput of shape coming off injury ???)

Why is Colquitt punting chickens?

DL:
Like the OL hard to see what was happening individual. But God Damn Ty Warren is a huge guy! Same for Melik Jackson, hope he makes the team. I'd love to have a bunch big guys on the DL.

Note: Cool moment of camp. Manning was stand on the sidelines and was a little kid. Gave him his wrist bands. Also instructed his team to stand on the sideline closer to the fans. Way cool!

I hated but respected the hell outta Manning as a Colt, as a Bronco I LOVE him & everything he brings to this team & community, I couldn't be more thrilled w/ the organization & the direction Elway is taking it

Don't need PETA showing up at camp now. The hens were actually fielding punts from Colquitt. We're kind of short on returners.
