Who and if ya want Why is the Greatest or just your Favorite Bronco player you've ever had the opportunity to MEET in Person?

Mine was the grand QB John Elway! Met him in an elevator in the Palms Casino! Heading up to a high-rollers event! My favorite part was meeting him and saying the line from Roadhouse "Thought You'd be Bigger?!"

What a great meeitng and he let me snap a few pics from my cell phone!

I was fortunate enough to meet quite a few of them after a game in '98. Rod Smith was my favorite though. Showed me his super bowl ring. Romo was pretty interesting too. Super nice guy, I think mainly because he had just let out all of his rage on the field so he was pretty easy going. TD seemed tiny to me.

Elway was very cool, very nice to me. I've met him on a few different occasions.

Meeting Meck was the best.

I've met Ed too, and he was nice enough. I'd love to meet Rod or TD.

Elway was cool but he kept pushing a Toyota on me. Easy Ed, listened to me for about 3 minutes and then asked if I was hungry and offered me some cereal with his name on it. Rod went down memory lane with me and then tried to get me in a Multi Level Marketing plan and I passed. Travis Henry was pretty wired and tried to **** the girl next to me after he asked, "are you fertile?" Eddie Kennison was pretty much a jerk. Meet him twice. First time he was in line with a full cart of food and then just left. Other time he was driving in front of me and he parked his car at the red light and then just walked off. Last one was Kyle Shanahan while working. He was screaming in pain at our tattoo removal shop. I guess the ankle is a very sensitive place for that. Poor guy. I gave him some water and a clip board for his authorization of not wanting any pain pills and he said, "No thank you Jeff Lewis, I get some good stuff from Romo!" Well, I had a Broncos hat on and with the accessories, I could see the mix up. Ironically, Jeff Lewis worked for us in 2001 sweeping floors.

Just follow the guy on Twitter. It seems every week he's at a Denver area Safeway selling BBQ sauce.

Well, wasn't a Bronco......but I met Dexter Manley in April 1988 at the first annual Goofy Games at the Disney Golf Resort (later renamed to the Disney Inn).....while on vacation.

He was in the lobby with his wife and kid.......I shook his hand and said "You know you just kicked my favorite team's butt in the Superbowl?"

He laughed.

Incidentally, there were MANY pro athletes there for the event.....I didn't recognize most of them. But I saw Don Mattingly by our pool.....and the most recognizable was Big John Stud.....with his kid who looked just like him. Hahaha.

I went to high school with Mike Lodish,
http://www.nfl.com/player/mikelodish/2501778/profile (http://www.nfl.com/player/mikelodish/2501778/profile)
we weren't friends, but I had a couple of classes with him.

When he played for Buffalo, during the off season, he would come up to the bar I bartended at. When he was a free agent, I told him he should sign with the Broncos, low and behold, three weeks later he did. I no longer bartend, but I do run into him almost every Wednesday night, during the summer at our Concerts in the park event. I still joke with him, that he got his two Super Bowl rings because he listened to me.

The bar I worked at was a very popular one for athletes (and actors) in the Detroit area and I have met a lot. Everybody has a bad day once in awhile, one day you think they are the coolest dude and then the next time you see them they are total A-holes...go figure

Greatest Broncos Met:

John Elway, Randy Gradishar, Rod Smith, Shannon Sharpe, Al Wilson, Dennis Smith and Steve Atwater.

Favorite Broncos met: Randy Gradishar at Mecks tailgate years ago, First time I was ever lost for words and brought tears to my eyes. A great Broncos memory/moment for sure.

Other favorites include Rod Smith and without a doubt the nicest guy was Bill Romanowski and his wife Julie. Total class.

I've met quite a few players over the years.

I'd have to say the nicest and friendliest were Vance Johnson, Rick Upchurch, Steve Sewell, and Steve Atwater.

I worked with former Bronco Jim Price...he was one of the guys that came over from the NY Titans for LB Wahoo McDaniel.

Met Jaguar Tony Boselli at an NFL Air-it-Out tournament I was playing in, he was playing for Rock105's team.....he was standing next to my friend who was like 5'4" and 110 lbs....I nudged my buddy and asked him out loud "Why don't you call him a fat pussy now?" Boselli looked at him, and shook his head, smiling...

Met Vaughn Hebron, Bill Romanowski at the '97 game in Atlanta, they came over to sidelines and signed autographs before warming up.

And met Tyrone Braxton at the Cherry Creek mall the saturday before the final '97 game vs. San Diego. Told him I needed him to shut those Jag fans up, due to their smack talk for damn near an entire year after upsetting Broncos in '96....he smiled an said, "Yeah, we ain't forgot about them..."

And finally, lived in same neighborhood as former Raider OL Mickey Marvin, and sat and drank a few beers with former NFL player Thane Gash (cousin of Sam Gash)

My only experience is getting autographs at games. My two favorites have been John Lynch and Elvis Dumervil. Lynch was injured and not playing, so he stood on the Broncos sideline and chatted with me for 3-5 minutes.

Dumervil because after he told me he would sign my Doom jersey (week 1 after the stokley play, and before he was really well known by most) he came across the field, signed by jersey, Broncos flag and went back with the team. Only player to do that, and only signed for me. Still very appreciative, and keeping a close eye on the elvis arrest thread, or is it officially the meteorological thread now?

I met Carl Foster who had a very brief and bitter moment with the Broncos in the early eighties. I asked what it was like catching passes from DeBerg which made him laugh. Then I'm watching this show about Arian Foster years later. Guess who Arian's dad is? Also Arian is a really funny name for a brother. Just sayin'

They're out and about. Aside from seeing the players as they gone in the tunnel:

I was driving once and almost hit Mike Shanahan, who was jogging across the street (without looking). I've actually had dinner with John Fox at the Brown Palace while working for a fundraising LLC.

I've met John Elway a few times. I've ran into Champ Bailey numerous times while out and about around the DU campus. And at events I've met Floyd Little, Brian Griese, Gary Zimmerman, Rich Karlis and Reggie Rivers.

My mom taught Karl Mecklenburg's kids, and I would see him periodically. A few months ago I ran into him at Sweet Tomatoes in Littleton.

I took a girl out to dinner at the Summit @ the Broadmoor in Co.Springs. Reuben Droughns was sitting at the table next to me.

I ran into Knowshon Moreno at a Red Robin bar a few months ago. I ran into John Mobley and Ian Gold at an Applebees bar in Greeley (when the Broncos had camp there).

That's all I can think of right now.

On a side note, I've ran into Chauncey Billips at the same aforementioned Red Robin in Littleton... and when I left for boot camp, Chris "Birdman" Andersen was on the same plane. Also, Joe Sakic and Adam Foote have lived in my neightborhood. I've probably met some Rockies, too, but I don't follow baseball.

Mine are all autograph meetings also

I can't think of a home game I went to where Rod didn't take the time to sign. I bought a Smith Jersey before a game one year because I knew he would sign it after the game and he did.

I got Steve Atwater to sign at Canton when John went in.

I ran into Griese and he and Eddie signed my program the week they were both on the cover. A year later I was pissed that he ruined my McCaffery sig.

I would like to meet Floyd, Elway, Gradishar, Meck, and Morton some time.

I ran into Shanny as he was going from the locker room post game (after the 97 KFC Win) up to the press box but sadly some dude cut us off and then had him sign and take pictures and totally took so much time that I felt bad for Mike and let him get out of there while he could.

Only met one...former punter/kicker Paul Ernster. We were on the same little league baseball team together and then we ended up going to the same high school, too. We weren't friends in high school, and I kind of sucked at baseball, but it counts!

I met Steve Sewell in 84' as an OU Sooner

Met Sewell in '02 and the Fan Fair. Nicest dude ever. Really down to earth. Signed a football for me. Also Al Wilson and Ian Gold. Nice guys.

Sam Brandon was a douche. I commented on him filling in for an injured Kenoy Kennedy the previous season down to the week and opponent(week 4 Chiefs I think), and he looked at me very confused and said what? And then he was like yeah..... Guy was pretty dumb.....

I have met several Broncos. Steve Sewell a bunch of times, Meck who was kind of a jerk came into a movie theater I worked at, sat next to Vance Johnson and his GF at a concert once and they kept spraying each other with silly string (pretty annoying actually), Floyd Little (I was the only one that recognized him, nice guy), not a Bronco but John Matuzak came into the stands at a charity game and was awesome (then ripped a car door off a police cruiser a few days later), Met Steve Foley, Tom Jackson, Riley Odoms, Louis Wright, Mike Harden at training camp back when you could just mingle on the field with them after practice.

Best meeting was Craig Morton though. For one, he was my hero. Two, when I met him, it was on fathers day after a charity flag football game (same one I met Matuzak). I waited in line for over two hours to meet him, got within a couple of people and they had to start the game. I was crushed.

Afterwards, I noticed him heading to the south stands before the fireworks were about to start. I thought maybe I would meet him in the parking lot. Lost sight of him and he came walking towards me with his wife and kids. On fathers day after playing a game and fireworks about to start. He still took the time to stop, shake my hand and talk to me. One of the best moments of my life! After meeting a ton of pro athletes over the years, I realize how many would have blown me off, so I feel very lucky to have chosen Morton as a guy to look up to.

Hard to remember who I have met, since it was not many and quite some time ago.

I attended the season opener in Cincinnati in 2003, which was almost 10 years ago, god damn I am getting old.

Ian Gold - As much **** as he got here, he was a very nice guy. Friendly, willing to interact with the fans.

Bertrand Berry - Same as Ian Gold, super nice guy.

Clinton Portis - Total dick face. **** you, Clinton Portis.

Elway. Crossed paths with him about 7 or 8 times. Most memorable was just outside the stadium after SB 32.

He was on OrangeForceOne at a Crush game once but the crew didn't have a marker for him to sign it! Moments like that come and go quickly.

Met a bunch of other Broncos. Gradishar was a fixture of the omane tailgate for awhile. That was cool. He'd come by and grab a brat and just cruise on by like any other omaner.

Met most of the Ring of Fame at the Mile High memories show in 2000. Got all their autographs. That was memorable.

I rode on the Broncos team bus in 1963 to their game against the New York Titans in the Polo Grounds and was able to sit next to Goose Gonsoulin. Great guy. Sat on the bench for the game, which ended in a 35-35 tie.
