Rest In Peace, Jon Lord. In my estimation the greatest rock keyboard player ever.

Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord has lost his battle with pancreatic cancer, according to BraveWords. He was 71.

A message on Lord’s website reads: “It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Jon Lord, who suffered a fatal pulmonary embolism today, Monday, July 16th at the London Clinic, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Jon was surrounded by his loving family.

What a kick a-s band and player..Lord was incredible...obviously Blackmore, Paice, Gillan, Glover et. all were great musicians...

Legendary in the 70's, they had some good stuff in the 80's...matter of fact the band recorded a couple of pretty good albums ("Perfect Strangers" and "House of Blue Light") here in Vermont in the mid 80's..

RIP. I'll always have a soft spot for Deep Purple. Never willl forget my dad driving me around in his convertibles blaring Highway Star as loud as he could. I knew it reminded him of being back in high school when the album came out. Good times.

My first concert ever I was lucky enough to see Deep Purple play.... I will never forget April 6th 1974. Black Oak Arkansas, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and ELP.

Was able to see them again in Orlando back in 1995

RIP Jon Lord, A true rock and roll legend!
