The CBO estimates that 93% of Americans will pay less in premiums. If your premiums are increased, you'll likely be eligible for subsidies depending on your income & family size.

Do you even know how many people have put you on ignore because they think you are stupid? Sure, I find most liberals missing any kind of rational, critical thinking skills, but you are no doubt the dumbest one around here and really, why I usually don't spend most time responding to your attempts to "discuss" anything since all it amounts to is stuff like this. This is all you do with anybody and you'd likely do it with other liberals if there were no conservatives around. Face it, you are an unhappy, little man.
Req, TGN, Beerslug, you. You guys must live unhappy lives, going around spreading your hate and even filling people's message boxes with negative reps and following people around in other forums just to make persona remarks about people, try to dig up info. on posters to try to screw with their personal lives, and whatever else you guys do. Again, when I state liberals have mental issues and you 4 in particular do those things, well, that is supposed to somehow prove I'm wrong? Um, yeah. Seek help and more work on how to start a thread that is really offering discussion opportunities.

Your existence on this forum bottoms out on trying to ridicule liberals, make generalizations and offer pejorative throw-ups. You have the audacity to question the intellectual nature of others on this forum, yet rarely, if ever, have made a demonstrable slide in that area for yourself. You have even gone to the lengths, on a daily basis, making the assumption that liberals (in general) suffer from mental disorders. What kind of quack do you have to be to even come to that conclusion?
Don't act like you are above anyone else when it is clear you are part of the problem. People have caught you in your lying act and tap dance, therefore ending any potential to take you seriously. When is the last time you started a thread that had potential for discussion? When was the last post you made that didn't group all liberals into one category and offer some silly social relegation?
Never. So when you try and attempt to point out hypocrisy, you need to look no further than your own mirror.

I think you need to re-check your party's platform.
We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that are simply a relabeling of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) (mastery learning) which focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority.

If these people really wanted to "escape" partisan, anti-competitive health care legislation that sunk us further into debt, the time to go would have been after Bush's Medicare Prescription plan was enacted PROHIBITING Medicare from negotiating drug prices. At least then it would make some sense, you'd escape to the much less expensive Rx drugs up north.
Not only did Obama and the Democrats get rid of (http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2009/07/31/negotiation-of-medicare-drug-prices-back-for-now/) that restriction, Obamacare permits state insurance exchanges to negotiate and purchase across state lines.
And, YET AGAIN, the CBO confirmed over and over during the process of enacting the Act that that Obamacare would yield a net savings. Hello?

It's frustrating from a "dim bulb vs. bright bulb" standpoint. The CBO is ostensibly neutral, non-partisan, and they have consistently reported during the process and since its enactment that ObamaCare will save money. The numbers are a quagmire I'm sure, but even today they're talking only in terms of less or more SAVINGS (http://www.bankrate.com/financing/insurance/new-cbo-numbers-on-obamacare/) than first thought!
So then ... wtf are these captains of industry packing up their pickup trucks? Afraid of saving a few bucks Elmer?
Unless you're a partner at a Big 4 accounting firm, it's pretty foolish to assume you know better than the CBO knows.

Premiums go up every year. With a little competition they should go down. What will go up is your cost for medical care without this. Guaranteed. Boehner was just on Face the Nation. He did not look good being questioned about repealing this. The Republicans are going to take it step by step and they have a better way. Where the hell have they been? They better hurry up because the cost to the average American is going to skyrocket. But go to Canada till then. I'm sure you'll enjoy their "universal healthcare" much more. Whoop, I, I, thought I could keep my insurance plan! LOL! Thank you! Less Americans to cover here too.
Arkie
07-01-2012, 04:37 PM
The only way it'll be cheaper is if there's less quality care and it's rationed. How else are we going to mandate that insurance companies cover “kids” until age 26 on their parents’ insurance? How can they disregard pre-existing conditions without passing that cost onto others? In reality, politicians will make the decisions instead of doctors and patients when it comes to government medicine.

So the cost of medical care won't go up? There won't be long waits for appointments? Funny how the costs of this rose substantially from the original estimates yet we can believe any of these numbers being thrown around. Sure.

John Stuart Mill would have believed Obamacare (or Romneycare) was tyrannical. This form of tyranny, Mill said, was the rule of the many over the one. Individual freedom was denied purely on the basis of numbers, that is, on the basis of which group or coalition of groups formed that larger number of people dominating the political process. Their ideas, ideals, and values were to be imposed on all those representing less than 50 percent of the electorate. The source of their tyrannical power was the control and use of political coercion. State power is what enabled some to deny liberty to others. The threat or the use of force by government is what enabled freedom to be taken away from individuals who believed in ideas, ideals, or values different from those holding the reins of political power.

Not really, you decided that was what I was arguing about since you would rather not discuss how Obamacare will raise premiums, which was not supposed to happen. So this tax increase, the largest in history, is going to cause the same thing to happen that would have anyway? Yes, I see why you'd rather deflect and change the subject. Because something needs changing does not mean just any change is better and that is what Obama supporters are going along with. "Well, we needed to do something." That is how liberals think of everything. Just make quick changes and try to fix the screw ups that are caused later. Great.

The funny thing is the IRS, yes that IRS, is put in charge of this, but "it isn't a tax." So the IRS is going to start collecting water bills too? Phone service? Hmm, this is the IRS description of themselves: "The IRS is the U.S. government agency responsible for tax collection and tax law enforcement." But I guess we can add "collecting penalties" that have nothing to do with taxes. Oh, ok. But oh, Romney is saying something else, so I have to think like him, just like Obama supporters have to do as well since thinking for themselves is too scary.

Well my initial reaction appears to correct, Jay Tomlinson on his Best of the Left Podcast (http://www.bestoftheleftpodcast.com/) investigated the 17 tweets and found roughly that 20% of the tweets where from people that could be categorized as conservative.

The Supreme Court last week upheld Obama's health care law because John Roberts' opinion considered the federal mandate to buy health insurance lawful under Congress' taxing power. But neither Mitt Romney nor Obama are buying it—for two different reasons.
Romney strategist Eric Fehrnstrom confirmed Monday that Romney disagreed with Roberts' decision to consider the individual mandate a tax, despite the fact that Republican groups and members of Congress are already running ads criticizing Obama for raising taxes through the health care law.
"The governor disagreed with the ruling of the court; he agreed with the dissent that was written by Scalia, that very clearly said that the mandate was not a tax," Fehrnstrom said on MSNBC. "The governor believes what we put in place in Massachusetts was a penalty, and he disagrees with the court's ruling that the mandate was a tax."

This is so funny.

The Republican wild dogs are screaming "Biggest tax increase in history," but if that's true, that means Willard brought health care to Massachusetts by raising everyone's taxes - and he's the GOP standard-bearer this year?
