IN CASE YOU DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW, THIS IS A LITTLE TIDBIT OF TRIVIA.
ON JULY 20, 1969, AS COMMANDER OF THE APOLLO 11 LUNAR MODULE,
NEIL ARMSTRONG WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO SET FOOT ON THE MOON.

HIS FIRST WORDS AFTER STEPPING ON THE MOON WERE,
"THAT'S ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN, ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND,"
AND THEY WERE TELEVISED TO EARTH.

BUT JUST BEFORE HE RE-ENTERED THE LANDER, HE MADE THE ENIGMATIC REMARK,
"GOOD LUCK, MR.GORSKY".

MANY PEOPLE AT NASA THOUGHT THAT IT WAS A CASUAL REMARK CONCERNING SOME
RIVAL SOVIET COSMONAUT.

HOWEVER, UPON CHECKING, THERE WAS NO GORSKY
IN EITHER THE RUSSIAN OR AMERICAN SPACE PROGRAMS.

OVER THE YEARS, MANY PEOPLE QUESTIONED ARMSTRONG AS TO WHAT THE
'GOOD LUCK, MR. GORSKY' STATEMENT MEANT. BUT ARMSTRONG ALWAYS JUST SMILED.

ON JULY 5, 1995, IN TAMPA BAY, FLORIDA, WHILE ANSWERING QUESTIONS FOLLOWING A SPEECH,
A REPORTER BROUGHT UP THE 26 YEAR-OLD QUESTION TO ARMSTRONG.
THIS TIME HE FINALLY RESPONDED. MR. GORSKY HAD DIED, SO NEIL ARMSTRONG FELT THAT HE COULD NOW
ANSWER THE QUESTION.

IN 1938, WHEN HE WAS A KID IN A SMALL MID WESTERN TOWN ,
HE WAS PLAYING BASEBALL WITH A FRIEND IN THE BACK YARD.

HIS FRIEND HIT THE BALL, WHICH LANDED IN HIS NEIGHBOR'S YARD BY THEIR BEDROOM WINDOW.
HIS NEIGHBORS WERE MR. AND MRS. GORSKY.
AS HE LEANED DOWN TO PICK UP THE BALL, YOUNG ARMSTRONG HEARD MRS. GORSKY SHOUTING AT MR. GORSKY

"SEX! YOU WANT SEX?! YOU'LL GET SEX WHEN THE KID NEXT DOOR WALKS ON THE MOON!

TRUE STORY......IT BROKE THE PLACE UP!

I think the moral of the story is that Neil Armstrong sucked as a pitcher.

Is there an actual interview "link" to that story being valid? I would hate to forward it on, on "Baja" alone :yayaya:

Nope no link.

My suggestion, if you don't like (or trust) my threads don't open them.

That's what I thought.

I don't get all the back biting.

This place seems to have lost it's sense of humor.

It's a great story, nuff said.

Well, Baja is a ****ing liar. Funny liar but still a ****ing liar.

Before you attack me Baja, I thought this thread was about the origin of the "moon walk" dance since it is coming up on Michael Jackson's 2nd (or 3rd year) death day. Boy, I am disappointed.

Isn't it just like you to turn a simple feel good thread into moral judgment.

I never said if it was true or false because It didn't matter. There was a day when a good story was just a good story.

Glad I don't live in your world of judgment. You must not have much fun.

Most people (including me) enjoyed the joke, Baja. I don't think "everyone" is bent out of shape about it. Just ignore those who didn't like it. You can't please everyone.

The fact that you did not suggests you are a humorless anti American.

For someone who is constantly chastising others for their lack of humor you don't seem very capable of playing along and rolling with the punches.

You must be getting waaaay too old to see that I was calling you "a ****ing liar" with tongue in check. You really think me, a guy that loves to **** around with joking here, is going to get bent out of shape because you past on a joke. Good grief Charlie Brown. BTW, it was funny wrinkled bastard.

Nope there will be someone just like you saying the very same things about you that you are saying about me now. That is if you are lucky enough to live that long which given you attitude doesn't seem likely.

That is actually pretty funny. Would like to be around when the old man goes up to his wife and says, "Drop em honey, the boy next door is walking on the moon." Wife...."well chit"

One other trivia mention about Neil Armstrong's moon walk. He rehearsed the famous line he meant to say when he stepped off the lander. It was supposed to be "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."

But he blew the rehearsed line, instead live he said "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." And there was a pause after the "small step for man" because he knew he blew it. You could even hear a little bit of an "errrr" in there before "one giant leap for mankind".

Old man, this all started when you couldn't tell I was playing you tongue in cheek. In comes another guy getting old and senile (Spider) and we have two guys that cannot distinguish grumpy or tearing someone apart and ****ing around with them. Maybe not being able to tell the two apart is the start of your downhill mentality in life. Sorry.

Since you couldnt tell the original Tongue in cheek comment and nothing after that was so (your protection of your "older" generation comments) leads me to believe you believed what you said.

I am going to be 42 years old on Tuesday. I know you will be starting my bday thread with lots of love. Too bad R.ev got banned for a few days. I just know he would have loved to give me well wishes.
