That is a good o-line. They will be soundly tested this season by a good chiefs defense twice and a great Broncos defense at least twice and maybe a third time should they not implode like Raiders teams over the past 10 years. :~ohyah!:

I'm very torn, on one hand see the Chiefs fans want to slit their wrists next season over losing the WC to the Raiders would be wonderful, but on the other, I like seeing the raiders have a 20 year playoff drought.

The Raiders are going to have a legit Offense next year. If Menelik Watson comes into camp healthy then they have one of the best lines in the NFL.

But come on man....

That's just evil subjecting us all to that.

Depends if they get kFc early, they could face a Houstonless squad who's secondary is exposed after losing Smith when they need him the most.

Menelik Watson is like one of those ghosts who doesn't know that he's dead yet. He's a never-was and never will-be.

If the Raiders want to really solidify the 0-line, they'll do it by taking someone like Conklin in the first round.

As for who will win the AFCW, that'll depend on Carr. We'll live and die with the guy. The defense is going to be better and so is the 0-line, but Carr's last 8 games were pretty bad. He missed lots of open receivers, was often confused by opposing defenses, and he made some really bad decisions.

But he improved a lot from his first to his second year. This'll be his third year and second in a row in the same offense.

The Raiders are winning the division this year.

Amazing. A faider fan has crawled out of his hole. Looks like you are new so don't be offended by all the §hit you are going to be hit with. How is "don't be messing"? We miss her.
You should finish above the Chefs though, their fans fear your team this year.

Broncoandrew

Yup, hard to argue with what they've done. That being said, building a team through FA doesn't always work all that well.

As long as they have JDR they will go nowhere.

R8R H8R

Are the raiders getting better? Sure. They are no longer vying with the Browns for biggest laughing stock in the league. But just how much better will they be?

Just consider the fact that they didn't even get better during the season last year, as they went 4-4 to in the 1st half, and then 3-5 the second half. They only beat one team with a winning record, the Broncos, in the infamous "Shofield-Meltdown Bowl".

The raiders aren't winning the division this year, book it.

You never know when a team will take the next step or take a step back. The Raiders IMO will be good as long as they have a great yr for no injuries.

Go check out the depth in the secondary. They sort of need the rookie safety to play well this yr to field solid starters. But man they take a hit at safety or CB and it will be tough for them.

every offseason some no dick journalist is trying to crown another AFCW champion other than Denver and they fail horribly. If I were to bet I'd say the West will be Denver, SD, OAK, KC.. just going off history and their roster, although I think the chargers won't play that hard for mCCoy since he's not that great of a coach but rivers is easily the best QB in the divison and you gotta take that into account. Oakland is still a 8-8 team at best, they lost a good leader and Mack can't play schoefield every game so he won't be dominating that many games.

there is an anti-Broncos bias in the east coast media. it shows up when it's time to vote for the HOF and it shows up when it's team to make pre-season predictions. i think part of it is because there are so many Pats nuthuggers in the east coast media these days (and they are butthurt because the Broncos have owned them in the playoffs). i think part of it is also envy that they have to live in over-priced and over-taxed chitholes like NYC and Bawston instead of the great Centennial state where the Rockies would be on their doorstep. the anti-Sanchez contingent of NYC writers is also anxious to see him fail and they can't wait to write off the Broncos simply because of Sanchez.

I have no problems with people picking against us. They're concerned about our QB play but when we string together some wins with scores like 16-7, 20-10, 13-6 they will soon remember this defense carried this team last year and has playmakers everywhere and maybe even the best depth of any defense. I predict we won't win pretty, but we'll be winning none the less, just like last year.

Raiders' hellish 2016 schedule has coach Jack Del Rio furious

“I don’t understand how anybody would make this kind of schedule and ask you to do this,” Del Rio said after Sunday's practice. “We’re going to Kansas City on four days rest, which is two time zones. I don’t know how often that occurs in the league, but it’s something that should be avoided at all costs.

“It’s hard enough to play on four days' rest, much less traveling a couple of time zones.”

When I sarcastically mentioned the league’s public relations push to emphasize improved player safety, Del Rio responded, “Somehow that was left behind.”

Howard Katz, who helps oversee the NFL’s schedule-making process, told co-host Gil Brandt and me last October on SiriusXM NFL Radio that, “Thursday night games are really complicated because we try to make sure that on the short weeks teams are playing without any great geographic disparities.

The Raiders will need to turn their attention to the defensive side of the ball as they have now allowed 1,035 total yards in first two games. Per Chase Stuart of Football Perspective, that breaks a record for most yards allowed in the first two weeks of a season that the 1951 New York Yankees held for the last 65 years.

They have the same record after two games that they had last year. Pretty good offense, sucky defense. Like I said in the summer, if the raiders have a better team, I haven't seen it yet.

Raiders have been bailed out twice with pass interference calls, on fourth down, at end of game.

Should have lost both the saints and bucs game. Failed to convert on fourth down game ending drive. Bailed out twice with bs PI calls. Unbelievable.

Raiders can be beat with the formula we run, just look at when KC traveled to Oakland, i'd say our defense is better so I think we can pull this off.

Raiders Offensive strengths = Our Defensive Strengths

We counter them on paper and I think it will show on the field as well.

28th pass D 27th Run D, so if we struggle to put up offense against them then you can start worrying.

The Raiders' D has been torched against good quarterbacks (Brees, Ryan, Rivers), but has held its own against lesser quarterbacks. Siemien is in the category of quarterbacks the Raiders D has been able to contain pretty well.

As to the Chiefs game, Kansas City Fats had two weeks to prepare for that. I didn't buy into his record after the bye, but the fact is, he's 16-2 following it.

If the Raiders don't shoot themselves in the foot with penalties, and if they don't turn the ball over (Carr only has 3 picks in 323 pass attempts so far), then this is a very winnable game for them.

It seems like the key to beating the Broncos is for the offense not to force anything, play field position, and be patient. Denver's D is damn good, so you have to be able to hit the few opportunities that become available. Carr is capable of that.

This'll be a 16-13 type of game.

We haven't given up 24 points all season. Bucs managed 7.

So how do you guys see this game playing out?

I honestly don't know what to make of it. Denver, according to betting lines, is favored by anywhere from 1-3.5 points, depending on what site you look at.

But how improved is Paxton Lynch from earlier in the season?
How dispirited is Denver?
How dispirited is Oakland?

Oakland certainly has more to play for and is still running the ball as well as it has all season. On the other hand, without the threat of Derek Carr, will that running game continue to be successful? That is, when the opposing D puts 9 men in the box, can Oakland still run the ball?

Can Denver generate more than say, 16 points?
Can Matt McGloin generate more than 16 points?

A game that would have been otherwise fairly predictable suddenly isn't due to Carr's injury.

I expect Denver to lay down like a prison b****. They have mailed it in since basically the first loss to the Raiders and officially mailed it in after the abortion vs KC.

I want the Broncos to go all in on getting Von Miller some sacks to reclaim the top spot. Imaging if Von had gotten to go up against Sambrailo 1 v 1 all game ala Beasley?

I say cover zero bring everyone in to the box with tight coverage and medium zones by the safeties and LB's and force the Raiders into running deep routes that take time to develop and see if Von can grab a couple notches for his belt

I'd rather Von not play and risk next year. He will though as he probably has escalators he can grab. It would be nice if Von could go against Schofield or the wet Sombrero 1 on 1. Denver coaches are the only ones that think that is a good idea with no help.
