Had a great career. In his prime he was pretty damn good. A TD machine. Still no rings tho' which was unfortunate... ;)

At least he can sit on a couch instead of the bench when the playoffs come around.

Terrell Davis at his best was better. I'm just saying.

One of the greatest regular season RBs ever, but LT sucked in most of the playoffs games he was in.

He retired right in the middle of a postseason once.

No doubt:

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2012/06/is-ladainian-tomlinson-a-top-five-all-time-tailback-curtis-martin-seems-to-think-so/1#.T947jYl5mc0

LT was very good. So was Martin in his own way. Super consistent. Personally speaking, Terrell Davis was much better than both. Fact is TD came in the same yr as CM and probably wins rookie of the yr if he doesn't get gouged in the eye and misses the final two starts of his rookie season.

LT and CM had good regular seasons. TD had great regular seasons... 2000 yds any one? He dominated in the post season when LT/CM were at their worst.

Here is the postseason stats for each including Emmitt Smith. Look at how close the numbers are between TD and Emmitt in the postseason and TD did it in roughly half the games.

Furthermore i don't want to hear LT or CM compared to Emmitt, Barry, Marshall or even TD. They were good backs. Good backs excel in the regular season, great backs EXPLODE in the post season and carry their teams.

yeah - my thoughts - he'll def get in the HOF.....Top 5 all-time in the major rushing categories, a league MVP, and 2-time rushing champ.

Tomlinson didn't just have good regular seasons, he had great seasons.
9 straight years of 10 or more TD's, 8 straight 1,000+ yard seasons.
Not only his rushing stats, but his receiving stats are pretty solid for a RB. Over 600 receptions, close to 5,000 yards and 17 receiving TD's.
Plus he has 7 career passing TD's and a QB rating of 146 lol
To say he doesn't compare with other top RB's of all time is ridiculous to me. Did he do jack squat in the playoffs? Yeah, pretty much. He had a couple decent games, but mostly didn't perform at all.
But the man has 146 career rushing TD's, 2nd all time, and 162 total TD's, 3rd all time. Throw in the rushing and receiving yards, he was impressive.

The playoffs kind of tarnish his image though, and how fast he went downhill there.

Congrats to him on a HOF worthy career. He made Denver look foolish on many a Sunday but the career numbers the guy amassed were incredible. He was the Dan Fouts of running backs. ;)

If LT makes the Hall of Fame before TD I will officially be completely done with that place.

LT didn't really have many very good games against us. We defended him pretty well. I was never scared of him, as a Bronco fan. Sproles and Rivers - that's a different story.

The comparisons with TD are legit, not in running style, but in humbleness and team play. Both classy guys.

Prepare yourself for disappointment. LT will be a slam dunk first ballot HOF'er.

And TD probably will never join the HoF.

Seriously? Respect LT for what he did man, 2nd all time in rushing TD's and 3rd all time in total TD's. That is pretty damn impressive.

I agree, although LT kind of soured on me after that playoff game loss to the Patriots that got Marty fired when he talked about "You know I'm a classy guy, blah blah blah"
