I concur on the new Japandroids album; I wasn't that into their first one, but this one is already getting a lot of replays from me.

Early '60s George Jones and Buck Owens. Can't explain it but I'm going through a honky tonk phase and can't get enough of it.

Nothing wrong with that. George Jones played rockabilly in the 50s. That is some good **** too.

Don't listen to to much new music. Usually stick with 90's and older. Music anymore seems to be who can come up with the coolest sounding beat with a few words repeated over and over again. Black Eyed Peas(worst Super Bowl halftime show ever!) and LMFAO come to mind...terrible music!

The soundtrack from the movie Drive.

I loved the music in that movie, waiting for our library to get the soundtrack in.

I am listening to the sound track from the Girl with the Dragon tattoo that Trent Reznor did. 3 freaking CD's of experimental synth beats!

This is true of pop music, but if you think music died 20 years ago you just don't care enough to look. Pop culture has never been a good representation of enginuity. Most of the bands/artists that break into the mainstream media markets are controlled by producers. There are some good producers in music, but sadly most of the pop music you hear is a cookie cutter formula that has been deemed palitable by a very nieve society.

Just the Crue. five fingers first album was bad ass! 2nd CD so so..... Hellyeah is a great band!

Now if Amon Amarth was on that list then you would be correct!
