Going back to 1976, the Denver Broncos have had an equal number of Superbowl appearances as losing seasons (6). Over that same time span, The Kansas City Chiefs has had more losing seasons (18) than playoff appearances (11).

Since the Kansas City Chiefs last playoff win, every single AFC West team other than Kansas City has been to at least one Super Bowl, one of which won it twice.

What's sadder is that Hanna Montana was not the reason the chefs finally won two of their three playoff games (in a 42 season span) Marcus Allen was the teams MVP in 1993 and had more touchdowns than Hanna. Dave Krieg was 11-5 the season before and Hanna missed five games due to menstrual cramps.

Hope that helps...

It's the NFL. Nobody is going to go out saying they're ****ting the bed at night worried about what Peyton is going to do to them.

Phillip Rivers said he hoped he joined Denver for the competition. It's what most competitors are going to say if they're worth a damn.

With that said, based on last year it's Routt that Flowers should be a tad bit concerned with. Manning's going to make him look a lot like this, I suspect...

Thanks for posting this. If you read the quote isn't Flowers talking about doing his job. Isn't it job #1 of any defense to get off the field on 3rd down? Last year Denver was #6 in getting off the field. We've took steps to improve key positions opposite Champ, DTs, JDR. This team will get off the field on 3rd down this year just like last year but this year we aren't turning the ball over to Tebow and 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense. We are giving the ball back to Peyton frickin Manning

This is the main reason why Denver will roll the AFCW this year and go

Kansas City has a really good roster at most every position except QB... Which happens to be the most important position in the game! I am confident Denver is going to do big things. Denver has a better more complete roster than Indy has had from their SB win on.. I'm confident Denver's winning the division.

WHATSAT!?!?!?! NOBODY IS LAYING DOWN!!!! Damnit, I thought everyone would just decide to take a nap during their games against us. Corners and safeties every game, lying down on the 50 with little eye covers and temperpedic pillows. I mean... thats what I do if I were facing Manning... because you know... Ok, I've got nothing.

I don't know what they're feeding into the local sports shows in the greater KCK/KCMO area, but its got the mustard and ketchup fans in a tizzy lately. Offensive philosophy. As in they aren't learning a completely new system.

Contunity is overrated. Last year the Queefs had a good team on paper and they went 7-9 in their third year with Todd Haley. What did the contunity do for them then?

After a 1-4 start, Denver inserts a 46.5 percent passer and a 1940s offense and they go on a 7-4 run plus a playoff win.

We're clearly better at QB and DE

We're slightly better at Linebacker, Tackle, and corner
WR, TE, guard, and saftey is a push
Center and DT is clearly the chiefs even with your T-Rex DT draft pick.

I also throw out that we have way better coaching and franchise leadership, which is to say the Chiefs have little.

How do you beat Peyton Manning? Play good defense and run the football.

The Broncos couldn't stop the run at all last year. Von and Elvis aren't that good of run stoppers either.

Broncos just added Wolfe to improve that problem. Needless to say that is still going to be a problem considering what Charles and DMC have done to Denver's defense.

Because the paper tigers always the win the Lombardi Trophy.

Last year the Queefs looked better on paper than the Broncos.

In the end, the Queefs managed a last place finish in a dump of a division.

Denver at least showed the heart to pull out a 7-4 finish with the deck stacked against them.

I will take our team's heart and guts over your paper talent anyday.

You don't have a better LB core than us sorry. Tamba was the best pass rusher in the AFC not named Terrell Suggs and he's not going to be playing much this year. DJ was the best ILB in the AFC last year. And Houston lit it up in the 2nd half of his rookie year last season.

I'll give you that Clady may be a little better than Albert in pass protection, but if you're trying to convince me that Orlando Franklin is better than Eric Winston, you need help bro.

And none of your safety's could hold Eric Berry's jock.

We stopped the run consistently...WTF are you talking about? We finished 5th in the post-season and 22nd ahead of KC in the regaulr season

I don't see many.

DE
LT
CB
TE

A number of positions are a wash. The most important one is a landslide for Denver.
Lets see how many of KC's premier players can last a season. Can't be better if they aren't playing.

DJ W. is not a better football player than Derrick Johnson. Would kill for him in Orange and Blue. Carter is not on the level with Berry.

You said you had a better rosters...which means back up players for depth. If your roster was so much better, there wouldn't have been much of a drop off in productivity. McGahee was also banged up most of the year. Moreno was lost in week 13 or so. Rookie RT, 2 2nd year guys on the oline, Miller missed a game with a messed up hand..came back and finished the year with a club, Kuper, Dawkins played banged up..we had our issues to. Go ahead and thump your chest over a 7-3 victory in which both teams looked like ass! And again, we were using an option style offense...won't be happening this year. We'll actually have a guy that can convert 3rd downs, complete more the 46% of his passes..you know, make a defense play honest...meanwhile you have Cassell, a tad better than Orton and that isn't say much.

That first round OLB is a bust! And that guard is now retired so it's still a hole for them. Who cares about the Chargers anyway? Norv Turner pretty much puts a limit on what they can do. He has never made a situation better in his coaching career. Coming off two non-playoff seasons, the current SD group isn't the same team that dominated the division from 2004-09.

I will give you that Charles was the Queefs best offensive player, but Tamba Hali was hands down your best defensive player, not Berry. Not saying Berry is a scrub, but going off potential and one good, not great rookie season doesn't trump Hali's year-in, year-out steadiness. Queefs went 4-5 with Cassel so you have no room to complain because 7-9 was right in line with how he was performing.

So Denver beat you 17-10 in your house and your team got outscored by Tim Tebow in the season series 20-17!!! That's sad!!!

Don't go there with the blocked FG because I remember the Queefs being the beneficary of a MNF win versus SD that they had no business winning. You needed a Joe Pisarcik miracle.

There you have it. Nobody's layin down just because Manning joined an untalented team.

My favorite part of that article...

“Peyton Manning, he’s a quarterback that everyone wants to have,” Flowers said. “He’s not going to turn the ball over, he’s not going to make critical mistakes. But I’m going out there saying if my man can’t get open, he won’t have no one to throw the ball to. So as long as I do my part, we’re not too worried about Peyton Manning.”

Yeah, I'm sure the Broncos will only send one receiver out, so if you cover your man, Brandon Flowers, Peyton will have NO ONE to throw to. LOL Great logic there, Einstein! Hilarious!

(What was Brandon Flowers' Wonderlic score again?? Oh yeah, 15. For those who didn't know, "a score of at least 10 points suggests a person is literate." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonderlic  )
