Did you know that approx. 50,000 years ago, all of us (and I do mean ALL of us) probably looked kind of like this:

These are the San people who live in the Kalahari Desert. They carry the oldest genetic material that can be linked to all the rest of us. In all likelihood, there were only approx. 5,000 modern humans left in existence in the Horn of Africa (today's Ethiopia) and every human living on Earth right now (including the San) is descended from that group of people.

Some even smaller group (maybe no more than 150) split off from the 5,000 and first moved along the coasts, generation after generation, until they got all the way to Australia, China and Japan. Then, some from those settled coastal areas radiated upward into the rest of Europe and Asia, probably fighting off Neanderthals and previous homo erectus emigrants as they went, until modern human was the only homo species left. We carry their genetic material. They are our Adam and Eve. Food for thought, eh?

It's an interesting thing to consider, but there are a lot of theories on our evolution as a species and I'm not sure that the all out of Africa one is the right one.

I'm currently reading this book: http://www.amazon.com/Before-Dawn-Recovering-History-Ancestors/dp/014303832X/ref=sr_1_7?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1336579164&sr=1-7

The genetic evidence is pretty convincing. It also links up with the archeological evidence we have.

I haven't read anything of his in a while, I'll pick that up! I just got a 20 dollar Amazon certificate. Thanks for the link. We'll discuss this more in a few hours bud, I'm getting showered and ready to go kick ass at the doctor today!

Thanks Ro. I can tell my medicines and just positive outlook (and week of health changes) is certainly helping. I've been pissing out all my retention like a race horse. I was ~ 205 at the doctor Monday and I have a feeling I'll be a lot less today. Making progress for sure. I'm guessing that the stress, the infection I had in my lungs and all the drama going on with my grandparents passing and moving away just caused this relapse.

Going to ask him not to do a biopsy, but keep on past treatment methods that were successful before.

I have all my medical documents in hand. It's weird, it seems like April/May is the time I have had flare ups. This is my third in five years, but I was good for a solid year -- which was great! I think good news is on the way bud!

that we all come from the same place.

that we all come from the same place.

I think I always suspected that. Even when I was taking anthropology in college, the generally accepted idea was a common homeland in Africa. Genetic science is getting closer to giving us the details, which I find pretty exciting.

that we all come from the same place.

Coming from the same place and from the same gene pool aren't necessarily the same thing.

All matter in the solar system comes from the same place.
