Spirit Airlines recently started service to Denver. They are cheap.

Check it out!

If you would share the price for Sept for example from your local. I'm curious how they really compare.

Spirit is great at the wallet. When I was in school in Boston, I would go back and forth to Fort Lauderdale for less than $50 round trip taxes included. They have these 1 cent fares, and all you have to pay is the taxes and book when they send you an email.

Negatives from what I remember is that they charge for everything! From cabin bag to even freaking water! The airline is like packed sardines, and the air hostesses are not friendly.

They are cheap fares, but passengers hate the airline.

A 'good' review.

Booked flight to Los Angeles because it was the cheapest fare, but you will pay more in the long run. $40 for a checked bag, $3.00 for a bottle of water? Plane was dirty and the seats old. On the return flight, one exit row seat had an "out of order" sign taped to it, because it didn't even have a bottom seat. The saying "you get what you pay for" certainly applies to this airline. The only thing I liked about the trip was that I was able to move to a preferred seat at no extra cost.

There is nothing for nothing in this world. Of course their service won't be that great but if it's the difference of saving a couple hundred bucks and getting to see Manning opening weekend deal with the duct tape seats!

Going from Dallas to Denver, Spirit was around $201 each way, AA was closer to $290 I think (this was a little while back tho). But, as mentioned, they charge extra for a seat, they charge extra for a bag, etc., so it really added up to be more when I had a friend who is a travel agent check for me and my wife to fly in.

It's the duct taped engines that bother me most. ;D

Wouldn't be as bad if they used bailing wire along with the duct tape!
