MLB & DT depth scares me but it's looking solid so far. though Blake is gonna be a G first so it's likely he might beat out Beadles to start.

Its definitely an improved roster from last year leaps and bounds. Philip Blake will end up starting at G or C hes going to start I just got that feeling.

I think we re-sign Marcus Thomas eventually.

as for the rookies I think they all make the team.

Moreno is likely gone... he might be the 2nd best back on this team, but he isn't Fox's guy and has been a bust so far - plus I think McGahee, Hillman, Ball and Fannin all make the team.

Moreno depends on his recovery and his ability to catch passes.

Not so fast on Colquitt -- they're gonna bring in some competition.

04-28-2012, 03:20 PM
Moreno might be done.

Too slow and fragile to return kicks. Not a special teams demon. He's coming off both a major injury and a high profile off the field incident. At this point Ball might have more value to the team just based on his special teams abilities.

Moreno better really get his timing down with Manning, because unless he's catching everything thrown at him and carves out a 3rd down Kevin Faulk type role, he's gone.

15-20 carries for Willis
5-10 carries for Hillman as a change of pace back
Mario Fannin flashed something last camp
Jeramiah Johnson could make the team and plays special teams
Lance Ball is a grinder and plays special teams.

I love the CB position. Lot of good things said last year about Vaughn before he got hurt.

04-28-2012, 03:35 PM
There's no reason not to keep Moreno as the 3rd RB. Dude is at his best when he's catching passes.

They may even want to keep four. It would be nice if Willis gets no more than 10-12 carries per game.

Idiot, colquitt was the best player on our team last year. Most consistent. He was so good that I was actually in favor of punting on 3rd down since it was obvious teblow wouldnt convert the down anyway.

I like the squad overall. Should be a playoff contender for sure. Besides manning, what im looking forward to the most is seeing how our defense plays under del rio. I hope to be attacking blitz heavy like we were at times last year.

I like that we got some pass rushing disruptive defensive tackles. I know people wanted some fat boys to clog the middle but, we already have the outside rush with miller and dumervil. We need a rush up the middle. I bet were all tired of watching ayers fail at getting pressure while playing DT on 3rd downs.

Lets just hope wolfe is not the next mcbean.

Updated, thanks!

You lost all street cred listing Brock (Zero NFL experience, and only 1 year of college) over Hanie and Weber on the depth chart.

They just took him in the 2nd round after trading the guy who got them to the Divisional Round of the Playoffs for a 4th rounder. He could be mentally you-know-what and he'd be the #2.

When you remove your face from his ass I will explain it to you.

The pick was made based his POTENTIAL, not on what he can to today. How hard is it to understand the kid has never even attended a single NFL event as a player, never seen a NFL playbook or participated in an NFL team practice. Adam Webber atleast has a training camp and a NFL season under his belt in this system, while Caleb Hanie has 10 NFL games to his credit and 4 years NFL experience.

Is this too hard to understand?... well I guess for a site newbie who named himself after our newest addition at QB, maybe it is over your head. First the Tebowites, now the Brockos. :loser:

Denver Brockos
04-29-2012, 07:47 AM
So this team is carrying 4 QBs on the roster? That's absurd. Adam Weber won't even make the squad, I can guarantee you that.

As for Hanie, it's going to be a LOT like the Quinn/Tebow situation. Hanie will probably be #2 on paper, but if Manning goes down or the season is going down the toilet, we'll see who gets tested.

Since Brock's biggest weakness is reading defenses, I hope that doesn't happen. Now that he's a Bronco, I hope he gets a couple of years to develop. He's got some good skills. It would be a shame to see him get thrown out there prematurely and get his confidence destroyed, which I've seen happen to a lot of young QBs.

Well of course, you don't want Manning going down. Even I don't want that. But there's no reason to even put Hanie in the game if there's nothing to play for. Live reps will benefit Brock if it comes to that.

QB would surprise me if Hanie is cut at the end of camp instead of Weber.
RB Moreno is still the best pass blocking RB of the group and is cheap this year. He is still valuable especially with Beadles being a turnstile 1-2 plays each game. Guy is in a contract year so the effort will be there. He is still the likely number 2 back.
WR battle should be intriguing along with the development of Irving at MLB.

Denver Broncos: Coryell Judie, CB, Texas A&M (http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/college_big_board_rankings.html&position=all)
He's a naturally gifted athlete with good range and great ball skills. Displays enough fluidity and balance to develop as a man-to-man corner, but looks ideally suited for a cover two type role at this stage that allows him to attack the football and create turnovers. An eventual starter in that type of scheme.

I'd be surprised to see Moreno on the team come the start of the season. They didn't trade up for Hillman to be a backup's backup.I wouldn't for the following reasons:

I took a stab at a 53 man roster, with DJ and Virgil suspended they wouldn't count towards the 53. Ingram would be the 54th to be cut when Virgil returns and Steven Johnson or Jeremy Beal would be cut for DJ Williams.

I didn't include a FB, I think we will try to move a TE around to lead block when they want a lead blocker.

Safety and ILB are the positions I am the most iffy on right now, those two really depend on how well our 2nd year guys play (Moore, Carter and Irving).

Woodyard will take the spot, at least for 2012. He started seven games last season and did a good job. They just brought in Wesley's backup in Trevathan.
