5'10", 202, 4.54 forty, 24 bench!!! Yikes!

One of the top corners in the country, Bolden was looking forward to a big senior year--until he tore his left ACL at an April practice. NFL teams, however, have shown in recent years that will gladly use high picks on players (QB Sam Bradford, TE Kyle Rudolph, TE Rob Gronkowski) who missed most or all of their final year of college. When healthy, Bolden's resume speaks for itself. He earned nine starts in 13 games, and Freshman All-American honors, in his first year in Tempe, intercepting one pass and breaking up six others. His second year was even more successful, as the 12-game starter intercepted two passes and deflected seven others. A knee injury in the fourth game of
2009 knocked Bolden out of the line-up (one INT, one PBU, 89-yard kickoff return for TD), but he bounced back as a junior to garner first-team All-Pac-10 honors at cornerback (three INT, seven PBU) and second-team as a kickoff returner (29.2 avg). Bolden's cover skills and return ability could earn him good grades as long as he can prove himself healthy at the Scouting Combine next February or a campus workout soon afterwards. Even with missing part of two seasons with knee injuries and lacking great size on the outside, his talent may be too much for teams to pass up in the top 100 picks. (CBS)

He's gonna be a steal if the injury bug is gone. Worth every bit of a 4th.

Sounds like a classic Shanny pick of a guy who would have been picked higher if not injured. I don't like that he had 2 knee injuries already. At least it was in the 4th and not the 1st or 2nd.

Sounds like a CB version of Demarius Thomas with all the injuries.

Do you remember Shanahan's drafts? He took his health question marks EARLY and often, not a few rounds later than where they would have gone if healthy. Most of his worst health risks that bit us in the ass were first rounders.

Solid pick if he doesn't have his leg amputated before camp.

You are exactly right, which is why I said at least it wasn't the 1st or 2nd. It's a worthwhile gamble in the 4th, I think. He probably would have been a 2nd day pick if not for the knee.

4th round is where you should start to take medical guys etc. Great pick for us based on value / talent
Wonder how far Dennard drops?

Josh McDaniels has murdered these adjectives for me.

Best pick in position of the draft thus far...finally a bpa value pick! Should have been a top 5 corner wout the acl issue.

Can't really call any 4th-Rnd pick a bust, so I'll just call it a wasted opportunity. The only thing he could do this year is play on SP-Ts or back-up Nickel, but it's most likely he spends the year on IR or doesn't make the first wave of cuts.
Best case scenario - he switches to a brand new position (FS) and beats Moore or another out to be Adam's replacement in two years (assuming Carter and Bruton focus on SS).

Dude, his knee is fully healed. ACL injuries are not as career threatning as they used to be. He will be ready to go.
I could see him playing alot in spot duty this year.
Also, with this pick, i could see DEN using Adams in a "Big Nickel" spot against elite TEs, with Boldin playing some centerfield FS.

DT never had one injury in college. Only before the combine did he get the stress fracture in his foot and then the Achilles and finger this past year. Sometimes those injuries come in a wave and dont become a pattern.

Bolden has had a full year to recover from the ACL so should be more than good to go by now and certainly by training camp.. Good pick and worth the risk and no doubt they did their due diligence in thoroughly reviewing his medical status now prior to pulling the trigger.

this. ACL injuries are really not a big deal when they happen to a young guy. The ortho docs can repair and/rebuild the tissue to full health. It's just a matter of time and proper healing.

This corner is stronger than the OC we selected.

His measurables suggest that he would play FS at the NFL level.

Reminds me of Adam Archuleta.

I guess having hurt knees allowed him to focus on his upper body.

This was a great example of how Shanahan's ego in his decision making shown through as his time in Denver matured. Insane decisions with tremendous risk.

You've gotta roll the dice to get an impact player in the 4th round. It's either injury concerns or character issues. I'd rather have the physical, hard-working kid that is rehabbing an injury, than the guy that falls because he rapes women or punches cops a week before the draft.

dennard not dropping because of medical reasons. he dropping because of some red flags such as just recently getting arrested for alegidly assaulting a police officer.

So is Jack the Broncos main scout now?...or is Elway secretly spending his Saturdays as the Arizona State mascot?
