Jenkins? This is a point in the draft you can live with the risk.

I'll say it before this place goes crazy. A lot of people are probably gonna be very pissed this evening. I'm guessing no DT in round two. It'll be two offensive players. Hopefully I'm wrong.

My thought is that Elway could draft Ronnie Lott reincarnated in the 4th round, T.D. reincarnated in the 6th round and Rod Smith reincarnated in the 7th round and we would still get post-Tebow residual butt hurt.

2nd biggest reach so far after Irvin according to the majority of ranked draftboards.

Rohirrim
04-27-2012, 04:24 PM
Strengths: Has a tall, solid frame with adequate length and has done a nice job losing the bad weight and firming his body. Has a quick first step with fluid movements off the ball. A natural bender, staying low and using leverage to force his way into the backfield. Highly competitive and fierce, showing relentless effort to the pocket with a nonstop motor. Has very good awareness, keeping his head on a swivel with a good feel to quickly locate and react to the play. Tough as nails with a physical attitude and often attracts double-teams. An extremely hard worker in the weight room and doesn't let up in practice. Versatile in college, lining up in several different spots, including
moving to nose tackle over the center on third downs. Stayed durable over his career, starting the final 38 games of his collegiate career. Was productive at Cincinnati, especially as a senior when he led the conference in tackles for loss (21.5) and had career-highs in tackles (70) and sacks (9.5). Negatives: Only average lower-body strength and struggles to anchor at the point of attack. Bit of a defensive end/defensive tackle 'tweener who struggles in traffic with multiple blockers, not always using his limbs effectively to disengage. Will allow his body to get too upright at times and needs to consistently keep his pad level down to be effective. Not a quick-twitch player and struggles to quickly change directions with some body stiffness. Has streaky hand placement and usage, abandoning his technique. Lacks a natural position and there will be some concerns as to where he will fit best at the next level. NFL Comparison: Kevin Vickerson, Denver Broncos -- Dane Brugler

I've been saying that Derek Wolfe is my favorite DT in the draft after Cox. Most productive DT in the draft, 6'5" 300, 4.94 40 and 7.26 3 cone. I have no idea why some did not have him rated higher, but I love the pick.

When Derek plays with the right techniques, it's a beautiful thing to watch. He has excellent power and is one of the better defensive tackles in this draft at shedding blocks and making a tackle in the hole. He shows quickness in small spaces and has good feet and balance when taking a direct path to the quarterback. When Derek plays as a defensive tackle in a 4-3 defense, he changes the line of scrimmage on almost every play. He is the best at pushing the pocket on passing plays and waiting for the quarterback to step up into the pocket, shedding his block and making a sack. If he is one-on-one with an offensive lineman, he will dominate his opponent. He gives effort on every play and will make the players around him better. Huddle Report

Sounds pretty damn good to me. I love to hear that he is a high effort, fiery competitor. Very cool.
