For those of you that live in Denver, you have to make your way to Champa St. Burger Works some time.

A combo with a 1/3lb Buffalo Burger, a Coors Light and a large sweet potato fries w/maple syrup for $12.

They've got Elk and Moose Burgers, too, if you wanna go all Sarah Palin. They've got really good pickles, too - the home-made, old-fashioned kind with the thick slices.

That's cheap for a buffalo burger anywhere. Ted's charges like $16, just for the burger.

And you're preaching to the choir about the beer. I was drinking Stone IPA during the draft... but a Coors Light is nice for a Friday lunch, before finishing up some stuff around the office.

Nothing against Ted's Montana Grill though... their Spikebox burger is amazing (Buffalo meat, fresh [not canned] jalapenos, pepperjack, guacamole, bacon, onions, "almost pickles" [garlic marinated cucumbers], and lettuce on a whole wheat kaiser).

You obviously do not hang with Lindsey Vonn's brother and therefore are not a baller, sir.

Lol, funny you should bring that up. So one of my fraternity brothers in college went to high school with Lindsey Vonn. The University of Denver has this huge party over winter break called Winter Carnival in Winter Park. Him and I got a a few rooms at the Winter Park Vintage Hotel that weekend with some sorority skanks and a couple Norwegians from the DU ski team. That Saturday him and I hit the slopes with Lindsay Vonn's brother, Reed.

I told this story before... we bought like a handle of Svedka and a ****load of RedBull. Me and this chick named Lauren snuck into somones yard and skinny dipped in their hot tub. This was the same night the cops busted our little hotel party... and all the officer said was, "Seriously guys, keep it down. Also, you're smelling up the whole hall - if you're going to be smoking pot, you need to do it outside."

I had a lot of "firsts" in Winter Park that year. Reed was straight, though. Most of the shenanigans happened before he got there.

Those days are behind me, but they were good times.

Where is the part that Vonn's brother comes in the hot tub and cock blocks your action?
I would try the variety of burgers, elk, kangaroo, spotted owl, whale, etc. Actually, kangaroo in australia was damn good. Like Deer but they cooked it great where it wasn't gamey. Alligator was good stuff too.

"Straight and narrow" - he was training for NASTAR and therefore did not parte in said substances or skinny dipping with the sorority girls.

I've got an issue with this place, primarily that it's not on Champa Street.

For $10 you can get the burger of the day, fantastic fries and an Odell beer at Highland Tap and Burger. Best burger I've had in Denver.

Had a good burger at the DU pub.

Quarter lb of beef w/pepper jack, a roasted green chili and a fried egg.... add a little Cholula. Amazing.

I think Park Burger (they have one just down the street) is even better:)

Well except for the excellent tap list.

90% of the time I don't eat meat but once and a while I crave a burger or a steak so I get one.

I am, thanks to my love for burgers and all things unhealthy followed by health decline.
Surprised I haven't seen any of my favorite Denver burgers mentioned though.

1. Elway's - thick juicy burger
2. Lark Burger - not quite as thick but still very juicy burger
3. Mustards Last Stand - not so greasy fried burger
4. Grandpas Burger Haven - greasy burger

I tried Cherry Cricket a time or two and was not impressed. Best burger I've ever ate was the kobe at Zen Burger (Phoenix and Tucson, AZ.) $17 just for the burger alone.

No food pleasure (and I've had lots) comes close to the pleasure of radiant health though. ;)

Not that I don't still get food pleasure. It doesn't get much better then sitting down to a mono meal of 2+ pounds of ripe mango flesh or 4+ pounds of ripe watermelon. Yum. And then, the energy. :strong:

That burger with the peper jack, green chili and the fried egg got me thinking.

I'm going to try out my Red Robin app today....

What are some crazy good burger combinations?

How bout brandy BBQ sauce with sauteed mushrooms and friend onion straws.
