View Full Version : Colt McCoy?

The rumor is that the Browns are wanting to trade McCoy. Would it make sense to pick him up, possibly with a fourth round pick, and use him as a backup/potential long term guy after Manning retires? I was not impressed with him in college, but he has shown some flashes in the pros.

I should probably have worded that better.... I did not think his game would translate well to the pros.

If this happens I may never be able to come back to the Mane, it would be unreal

going back to 2009, I'm really sick of discussing QB's on the Mane.

no offense to your thread

I'd sure like to see Adam Weber given a chance.

Let me be perfectly clear. Colt McCoy sucks. You can get someone like him in a later round or as a free agent. He will never be more than a backup and an average one at that.

I just threw up in my mouth a little. I would rather use a pick on a guy that can throw more than 15 yards

no thanks, rather draft a QB in the top 4 rounds. it'd be just as good value and we'll likely get a guy with a strong arm.

There isnt a gm in the nfl that would trade a 4th rd pick for mccoy... truth be told i dont understand why cleveland doesnt keep him as backup...

I dont know they even get a 6th for him... they may wind up cutting him...

Why not just use that lower round pick on a kid like Kellen Moore that at least has a shot to be better than McCoy.

No to McCoy.

Funny thing is I wanted to like the Browns draft, they hit a home run with Trent Richardson and then they were able to get a QB all in the 1st round then I remembered the QB they got is 28 years old and I thought maybe not such a great draft after all.

Probably not a good idea... not sure what his contract numbers are either. Mike Jenkins might be a better castoff to look into.

This.

If we still had a 7th rounder, I'd throw it at the Browns for McCoy. That's it though.

Colt McCoy is a shorter, more agile, less accurate Brian Griese. Pass

he is 25+ as it stands, has shown little or nothing so far and you want to have him set behind Manning for 3-5 years.. or hell maybe even longer if we fix our OL.. if your going to waste a draft choice do it on a rokkie that does not have any bad pro habits to break..
