When was the last time 2 Offensive Guards went in the top 20 picks? I'm not saying it won't happen, it's just that we usually see all the Tackles go early in round 1.

Yeah. If Kuechly was there I would hope the Broncos would hand in the card in about two seconds. Of course, it would depend what the Giants were willing to offer.

I won't be surprised if it happens this year. A combination of really good guards (DeCastro and Glenn) and great need.

I would LOVE Kuechly, but for some reason I get the feeling our FO doesn't think that ILB is a pressing need with the amount of money we shelled out to Mays, and Irving behind him.

Heck I'd be happy to trade up into the teens to get him. He's my favorite value prospect going into the draft. By which I mean I think he's going to be excellent value for a team in the 10-20 range. Picking him won't be considered a reach and I expect him to be a solid starter for many years. :strong:

The Giants are in talks with Cincy about trading for WLB Keith Rivers... So that throws Kluchey to the Giants out the window.

I'd really like to have Keith Rivers as Denver's WLB..

I was going to post that we should move up 1 spot to 24 for supersticous(sp) reasons. I had heard that over the last ten yrs 9 out ten players are still playing.

2010: WR Dez Bryant, Oklahoma State to Dallas Cowboys (http://www.dallascowboys.com/)
2009: DT Peria Jerry, Mississippi to Atlanta Falcons (http://www.atlantafalcons.com/)
2008: RB Chris Johnson, East Carolina to Tennessee
2007: S Brandon Meriweather, Miami (Fla.) to New England
2006: CB Jonathan Joseph, South Carolina to Cincinnati
2005: QB Aaron Rodgers, California to Green Bay Packers (http://www.packers.com/)
2004: RB Steven Jackson, Oregon State to St. Louis Rams (http://www.stlouisrams.com/)
2003: TE Dallas Clark, Iowa to Indianapolis Colts (http://www.colts.com/)
2002: S Ed Reed, Miami (Fla.) to Baltimore Ravens (http://www.baltimoreravens.com/)
2001: CB Willie Middlebrooks, Minnesota to Denver
until I realized we are that tenth team. go figure. pick 24 has been great for everyone but us.

Brandon Meriweather is a cheap-shot punk who only got his Pro Bowl appearances because he played for the Pats.

I don't even know who Peria Jerry is. Just looked him up. Scrub.

Dez Bryant is a total headcase. I wouldn't be surprised if he's out of football in two or three years.

But the others are indeed pretty damn good.

Does Vernon Davis still play for the Niners?Yep. And they have Delanie Walker too... Couldn't decide on anyone else for them, and the 2 TE set worked pretty well for NE last year. Kind of a BPA, and they kind of need another wideout... So it was my best guess.

Not going to predict the entire draft but I think Denver's plans are as follows:

1) If Kirkpatrick or Brockers are there they will take them in a heartbeat.

2) If Kirkpatrick and Brockers are gone and Fleener is still there at the 25th pick, I get the feeling Denver will take him. Nothing concrete just the whole BPA thing.... Unless somebody offers a nice package of picks for our 1st.

3) If we trade down into the later 1st or early 2nd Lamar Miller will be our first pick.

I don't know enough about college players to have a legit mock but I will say I think a lot I have seen have Mark Barron going way later than he will. If he is there and we are up and we don't pick him I may throw something near me. I know we have bigger holes but we haven't had a safety like him since Atwater. Please don't give me that John Lynch argument.

Patriots won't use both first round picks, the 31st will be traded for a 1st next year and a 2nd.

Belichick uses one first and trades the 2nd one every year for a 1st and 2nd the next year, repeat the following year, so basically he gets a free 2nd rounder every year out of it.

Not to mention.....by trading a VERY late 1st rounder (31 this year).....you're pretty much guaranteed to have the replacement 1st rounder next year...be a MUCH higher pick.

****ing Pats.

We'll see what a genius Belichick is when Brady retires. Hoodie has a system. The system is carved in stone. Every position is likewise, etched in stone. He drafts for the specifics of each position. Brady makes it work.
