Every year I'm so pumped for this tournament but this year seems like there is even more hype, with so many good players playing at a high level right now.

So..........who you got?

Keegan is from my home town. Years ago I worked at the course where Keegan's father was the head pro, and I used to play with Keegan all the time when he was a young buck. He and his family are good people.

Hard to imagine now, but I used to give him 2 strokes a side.

Wow, that's pretty cool man.

I got 5 bucks down to win 250 if he wins, I've liked watching him play this year.

Going to be interesting this year, for sure. With all of the flowering trees and bushes already bloomed and dropped, it will look different as well. No azaleas this year as spring came early. The weather will continue to be strange throughout the weekend with storms today and tomorrow likely as a cold front pushes through dropping the high from 81 down to a high tomorrow of 66. Breezy as well (15-20mph the next two days) so the course should be challenging, but at least with the showers the greens should slow down a bit. The weekend looks perfect as far as conditions go, I will be curious to see if conditions today and tomorrow allow anyone to get out front a bit. You'd have to think these conditions would favor the players from the British Isles, but it isn't a given. I caught Jim Nance last night on Charlie Rose and he echoed the feeling that there was "something special in the air" this year. Tiger's return to winning has everything to do with that. 15 years ago this weekend was Tiger's first win at Augusta. I was never one to watch golf prior to that, but I did watch it that whole weekend....that final round on Sunday will go down as one of the standout sports memories of my life. Epic is a word that gets tossed around way too much these days, but that win was. For golf, for Tiger, and for blacks in this country (living in Atlanta, I know what an impact it had on this area) it was a signature moment. Now Tiger tees off against a group of 20 something young guns who were never victims of the ruthless beat-downs he subjected the 30+ year old golfers on the tour to. They are bold, brash, and their time to win is now. All the makings for a fantastic National are there, I hope it lives up to the hype....and I hope Tiger can get through it healthy and is sporting The Jacket at the end.

I just got home and see Westwood has the lead. Funny thing is I picked him to win every major for probably the last year. Guess I didn't jinx him.

I love the leaderboard so far btw.

Everyone practices well before a round. Phil was lucky to shoot what he did. That is why the Masters is great you can be a little wild off the tee and still score.

I know, did you see him take his club and hack at the pinestraw after his shot. Looked like a 10 year old kid kicking the curb because he tripped over it. Hahahaha, that was some funny ****.

He's playing great. Actually on the 1st day he kinda got robbed on a few holes where he should have had a birdie. He could easily be -7 right now.

Awesome

Amen. What a shot. Very, very popular win here in Georgia. He is regarded here as a great guy. Hated to see Oosthuizen loose after that amazing double eagle on the second hole, but Bubba (I love the fact a dude named Bubba won The Masters) is so cool to watch play. His shot creativity reminds me of a young Phil. They don't call him "The Natural" for nothing. Never taken a lesson, never had his swing evaluated. Unbelievable. Great and memorable end to the tourney. Congrats Bubba, well done!

Bubba does remind me of Phil (both lefties)...except Bubba is a strutter and hits longer than EVERYBODY ...and the pink driver - funny. I really don't miss the guy that is a whiner and kicks his clubs when he's mad. Great win, Bubba.

That was just astounding. I couldn't care less for the game itself, though when I'm in such bad shape all I can do is ride in a cart and smack a ball 100 times I may have to go back to it. But, the look on Mickelson's face as he mouthed "oh no" was priceless. He handled it a bit better than Tiger, as did Rory.

Tiger's whole inability to control his tantrums thing has been bad for golf. I expect some drunk on the publinx to act like that. Not a pro.

Did you see how people behaved when Oostheisen tossed his double eagle ball into the crowd. They were polite.

Faldo's comment on Tiger, "he's lost his mind."

I just never cared for playing the game ... after it got so you couldn't carry the bag and had to rent a cart. If I can't bike or lift anymore .... then maybe. But pro golf is more a metaphor for life than any sport. Their worst enemy is always their mental weakness and emotions.

For real. A lot of those are excusable... but anyone who was alive during last year's Masters/US Open - whether or not a golf fan - has heard of Rory McIlroy.
