That's right. The KC Chiefs suck. Your QB is garbage. Your "Mastermind" GM is a paranoid legend in his own mind who tries to teach people literally using pieces of garbage as props. Your coach is a fat, incomprehensible jabba-the-hutt of football without the savvy or killer instinct.

I have never seen, on TV or otherwise, the Chiefs <s>win</s> be competitive in a playoff game. I didn't watch the game from 93.

In conclusion, the Chiefs suck.

Thank you for your time.

Here are some fun facts:

Going back to 1976, the Denver Broncos have had an equal number of Superbowl appearances as losing seasons (6). Over that same time span, The Kansas City Chiefs has had more losing seasons (18) than playoff appearances (11).

Since the Kansas City Chiefs last playoff win, every single AFC West team other than Kansas City has been to at least one Super Bowl, one of which won it twice.

Longest running playoff victory droughts.

Cincinnati Bengals 1990 AFC Wild Card Playoffs 21
Detroit Lions 1991 NFC Divisional Playoffs* 20
Kansas City Chiefs 1993 AFC Divisional Playoffs 18
Cleveland Browns 1994 AFC Wild Card Playoffs 17**
Buffalo Bills 1995 AFC Wild Card Playoffs 16
Miami Dolphins 2000 AFC Wild Card Playoffs 11

**The Browns didn't exist for several years.

When you consider the Bengals had a good team in the 80's even appearing in a Superbowl, It basically means the sorriest franchises are the Chiefs and the Lions.

Crazy is right. The Broncos have won 2 playoff games in about 15 years. You would think the Broncos are the Steelers by the way the fans act.

Should be a fun year though. The division looks like it will will be fun again.

Stack the two teams side by side and there is no comparison.

Funny part is you loser chef fans feel the need to run your mouth on another team's board when you haven't done **** but EMBARASS YOURSELF.

When you have done something of significance or some of the boneheads around here are posting on Chitplanet then by all means speak up. Until then take your seat at the back of the bus and pipe down...................

Ha the way Broncos fans talk their franchise is legendary. It's not. You guys were countless losers of the NFL until 97 for crying out loud.

As far as the AFC goes, since the merger, I'd say only New England, Miami, Oakland/LA and Pittsburgh have had more success if both AFC titles and SB victories are your main measuring sticks.

SB record
--------------------

Steelers 6-2 (8)
Raiders 3-2 (5)
Patriots 3-4 (7)
Dolphins 2-3 (5)
Broncos 2-4 (6)

Now, does having the third most AFC championships make the Broncos a legendary team? Dunno about that, but I'd say it shows they have been one of the top 5 teams in the AFC. Throwing in the Bills AFC championships into the mix, then you have 6 teams with 36 of the 46 Super Bowl appearances.

As far as winning the big game, yes Denver didn't get it done before '97, but they still had an incredible amount of success in the conference.

LOL! Who cares? How about the fans and their season ticket holders? You have nothing to show for your team since a little bump in 1993 and then pretty much since the merger. It is a big deal and why when you talk loser franchises, Chiefs are in that group. You can't take those two knuckle heads away...ever! Once you start winning divisions and playoffs then you can start wiping the slate clean and looking at the present. Right now, you don't have much. Man, this thread just makes me think of this:

The Broncos were cruising toward an easy 30-7 victory in Kansas City when Derrick Thomas, the late linebacker, was the culprit in one of the most infamous implosions in "MNF" history. Five times in Denver's final touchdown drive the Chiefs drew personal foul penalties, three of them by Thomas, each one blatant and intentional and each, if you believe him, inspired by Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe. Sharpe said he had memorized the phone number of Thomas' girlfriend, and that he was reciting it number by number across the line of scrimmage. "I knew at that particular time, at that stage of the game, I could say some things to him and it would bother him," Sharpe said. Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt declared his organization "disgraced," head coach Marty Schottenheimer was reduced to tears, and Thomas was suspended for the next game.

great coaches that inspire their players to win.
great GM's that make their coaches better by giving them talent.
great players

Just restating the obvious. Chiefs near the bottom.

Quarterback rankings: Eli Manning tops list heading into 2012

By Jason Smith NFL.com

It's like every offseason someone has to proclaim how good a quarterback he is.

We had Top-Five Eli last spring, and now Joe Flacco says he thinks he's the best QB in the NFL.

First of all, I don't think Joe Flacco really believes he's the best. I know there's that professional pride, and that's why things like "Who's the best QB?" aren't decided by the quarterbacks themselves. I think Flacco was giving the answer he thinks he's supposed to give -- and one his teammates want to see him give, as well. It wasn't a knee-jerk response to the query, rather a well-thought out "When I'm asked this question, this is what I'm going to say."

So now that we've figured that out, just where does Joe Flacco rank in current quarterback hierarchy? Let's go 1-32 and see where everyone sits. The criteria for the rankings don't factor in age. This is not "Who do you start a team with?" It's simply a measurement of where each QB stands right now, entering the 2012 season. And brace yourself for a shocker right off the bat ...

The top 10

1) Eli Manning, New York Giants: A 30-touchdown/4,000-yard passer with two Super Bowls in the past five years. Both won with last-minute drives -- and both over Tom Brady. Give me a better recent résumé. You can't.

2) Tom Brady, New England Patriots: Even though he hasn't won the Super Bowl in seven years, he's now been to five. And would be 5-for-5 if Wes Welker had stickier hands and David Tyree did not.

3) Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers: I'm still taking him over the next two guys because I believe he'll win a playoff game in minus-45 degree weather before the other two will. And he's got two rings.

4) Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints: If fantasy were reality, Brees would sit atop this list. But it isn't, so he doesn't. Like Brady, too many things outside of his control have kept him from winning more. (Like playing those pesky road playoff games.)

5) Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers: The first three things that come to mind when I think of Rodgers: 1) He's a machine; 2) Discount Double Check; and 3) That stinker at home against the G-Men. That holds him back from No. 2 overall.

6) Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos: Stop thinking that Peyton's going to be playing with a neck brace and a cane. He'll still be Peyton, and we'll forget about his injury by the first preseason game.

7) Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers: It's a small sample size, but I also knew I liked Ben & Jerry's "Phish Food" from my first tasting spoon. Some things you just know.

8) Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers: No matter who he has to throw to, he wins. He was better in 2010 without Vincent Jackson than with him. He elevates his receivers and could be a Hall of Famer by the end of his career like Dan Fouts. He could also wind up never getting to a Super Bowl like Fouts, too.

9) Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons: His spot in the top 10 is tenuous. He needs a big performance in a playoff game to avoid being labeled the next Barry Bonds. (I mean before the whole steroid thing, back when he was great in the regular season and then would hit .149 October.)

10) Michael Vick, Philadelphia Eagles: It's a make-or-break season health-wise for Vick as far as his status as an elite QB goes. If he could have stayed upright this past season, he'd be in the top five. But he didn't, so he's not. (I just found out I really like ending sentences that way. I'm thankful to have stolen it from Colin Farrell in "In Bruges.")

The next five
11) Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions: The anti-Michael Vick. After not being healthy his entire career, he was injury-free all last season. He'll be knocking on the door of the top five if he duplicates his last season's performance in 2012.

12) Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens: Ah, here's our guy! Disappearing for three weeks at a time continues to kill him. Just when everyone thinks he's turned the corner, he vanishes faster than a Mega Millions winner.

13) Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys: He's better than anyone gives him credit for. The Cowboys' inability to win bigger isn't 100 percent Romo's fault. It's only 100 percent in the final two minutes of a game.

14) Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears: The Bears would've been in the Super Bowl last season if he stayed healthy. If he gets the Bears to one this season, he cracks the top seven. Yeah, he's really that good, whether you like him or not.

15) Matt Schaub, Houston Texans: He's always been a big numbers guy, but the past couple years he's played smarter and the Texans have won more. Like Cutler's Bears, if Schaub didn't get hurt, the Texans would've made the trip to Indy in February.

Intermission: There is not just a big drop from No. 15 to 16 and below, it's one of those Wile E. Coyote-chasing-The-Road-Runner-over-the-edge-of-a-cliff-and-holding-up-a-sign-that-says-"Yipe!"-before-falling-down-a-thousand-feet-into-a-dirt-cloud drop. End intermission. No food and drinks allowed inside for the rest of this list.

The ones who could someday crack the top 15
16) Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts: Yes, I'm projecting his selection by the Colts at No. 1. (Pretty bold!) He's not this highly rated for no reason, guys. And you'd take him and his potential for the 2012 season over anyone else between here and 32.

17) Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals: He showed me a lot winning nine games as a rookie last year, but the praise he got overshadowed his actual production. Show me you can win games as a sophomore and you'll be higher next year.

18) Sam Bradford, St. Louis Rams: I can't wait to see how well he does now that he has actual receivers to throw the football to. He could make the biggest jump on this list between now and the end of 2012. Possible breakout.

19) Josh Freeman, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: As we saw last season, he wasn't quite ready to have the Bucs' fortunes completely rest on his shoulders. This is a HUGE year for him to show he can do it. He has all the tools -- now he needs to become a leader.

20) Carson Palmer, Oakland Raiders: His best days are behind him (bad). But now he has a whole offseason with the team's playbook (good). But he's still throwing to DHB and a bunch of no-names he can't make better (bad).

21) Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins: Projecting his selection at No. 2 by Washington. You can't just say he's the next Cam Newton, but you can't say he isn't either. If I thought he would throw for a high completion percentage right off the bat, I'd have him just behind Luck.

22) Jake Locker, Tennessee Titans: Projecting he'll beat out Matt Hasselbeck. He really surprised me in 2011 with the way he was able to ignite Tennessee without a running game. Right now he's still all potential, but more accurate than I thought.

The ones who make the top two-thirds of this list possible
23) Mark Sanchez, New York Jets: Projecting he'll beat out Tim Tebow, at least for a week. Think about this: He's this low, despite playing lights-out in two playoff runs when he was the Jets' best player. That tells you how inconsistent his regular seasons have been. And yes, I'd have him this low even if Tebow wasn't on the team.

24) Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buffalo Bills: Look at his stats and you see a late-career bloomer. Look at his stats after his first 16 NFL games and you see why he's rounding out the bottom third. Defensive coordinators know how to slow him down. But he did go to Harvard, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as he attempts to make his own adjustments this offseason. Here's my first tip: Don't grow the beard.

25) Alex Smith, San Francisco 49ers: Again, like Dalton, the accolades weren't proportional to his accomplishments. He still only threw 17 touchdown passes in 16 regular-season games. This is Smith's ceiling, or the 49ers wouldn't have gone in as far as they did for Peyton Manning.

26) Matt Cassel, Kansas City Chiefs: The good news is he has all his weapons back and a couple more to hand off to (a healthy Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis). But I'm so skeptical. I think he just got hot for a few games in 2010.

27) Christian Ponder, Minnesota Vikings: He makes plays with his feet, but had trouble re-adjusting to the league once teams had a couple games of tape on him. He could be in store for a Blaine Gabbert-type season in Minnesota.

28) John Skelton, Arizona Cardinals: Projecting he'll beat out Kevin Kolb. Skelton enjoyed the success that has eluded Kolb with one simple strategy: Throw the football to Larry Fitzgerald! But in any event, Arizona will be on the lookout for an upgrade next offseason.

29) Matt Flynn, Seattle Seahawks: He could be higher on this list, but how am I seriously supposed to gauge a guy with two NFL starts in a four-year career?

30) Colt McCoy, Cleveland Browns: He's the top dog in Cleveland, until the Browns draft Ryan Tannehill (or not). I've seen glimpses of how good he can be. But just glimpses. Eventually you have to put it together no matter who's blocking for you.

31) Matt Moore, Miami Dolphins: Projecting he'll beat out David Garrard. Moore has some nice games, but too many pedestrian ones to be a real difference maker over the long haul.

32) Chad Henne, Jacksonville Jaguars: Projecting he'll beat out Gabbert. By and large Henne is the same QB now he was when he was a freshman at Michigan. Big arm, but erratic and prone to bad turnovers. And still, he could keep Gabbert on the bench.

Good times! !Booya!

Denver Wins With Bubby-Ball! Broncos Beat The Kansas City Chiefs Behind Quarterback Bubby Brister To Stay Undefeated : Denver 30, Kansas City 7

Dave Goldberg Associated Press

John Elway Bubby Brister? Who cares? Whoever plays quarterback for the Denver Broncos, they look like they're on the way to an unbeaten season.

The 36-year-old Brister, reborn as Elway's backup, ran 38 yards for a touchdown on the first series, then Terrell Davis went 41 yards for a score as the Broncos jumped to a quick lead and went on to a 30-7 win over Kansas City on Monday night.

The victory made the Broncos the first 10-0 team in the NFL since the 1991 Washington Redskins and put them on track for a Dec. 21 confrontation in Miami with the Dolphins, who in 1972 were the last NFL team to go unbeaten.

If we do what were supposed to do and we don't have any major injuries, I don't see why we can't do it,'' Brister said of the possibility of a perfect season.

Brister, now 4-0 as a starter this year, finished 13 of 23 for 180 yards, and Davis, who leads the NFL in rushing, carried 18 times for 111 yards. Brister added 53 more on five carries as Denver ran for 211 yards.

The Broncos' defense, meanwhile, held the Chiefs to 31 yards on the ground.

"I don't feel like a backup,'' said Brister, who had 71 starts for Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and the Jets in 10 seasons before sitting out 1996 and joining the Broncos last year.

"I've always felt like a starter, but there's only one of them and I've had guys like Boomer Esiason and John Elway ahead of me.''

It was the fifth straight loss for Kansas City (4-6), which looked before the season like the most dangerous threat to the Broncos in both the AFC West and AFC as a whole. But the Chiefs, who had never had a four-game losing streak in Marty Schottenheimer's 10 seasons as coach, looked like a dispirited bunch against the Broncos, who now have outscored opponents 114-13 in first quarters this season.

It took just 2:42 for Denver to take a 7-0 lead on a bootleg around right end by Brister, who made his fourth start in place of Elway, who is nursing pulled rib muscles. Brister was almost untouched after his fake to Davis pulled the entire Kansas City defense to the opposite side of the field.

The next score was even quicker - a 79-yard drive that took only three plays and was capped by the burst by Davis. He was tripped up 10 yards downfield , regained his balance and continued on into the end zone. That was the game.

The Chiefs cut it to 14-7 on an 87-yard drive that consumed almost eight minutes of the second quarter, leading to a 3-yard touchdown pass to Kimble Anders from Rich Gannon, filling in for the benched Elvis Grbac.

But Jason Elam added 42- and 46-yard field goals before the half and a 35-yarder in the third quarter. Things officially ended with 7:36 left in the game when Gannon, who finished 26 of 39 for 224 yards, tripped and fell at the 20 on a fourth down at the Denver 10.

"We ran 19 times for 31 yards and we wanted to run 35 times for 200 yards,'' Gannon said. "We have too much talent in the locker room to be playing the way we are. The mistakes and the penalties are killing us. We're not playing very good football.''

Damn.

It's a trip. We all know that the Chiefs suck, then you see the stats in writing, and they are even worse.

Nice cherry picking..........

From December of 2011 the Broncos have never won a game against Chiefs.

The majority of Chief fans have seen a lot more losses then wins against the Broncos. If you have to go back 40-50 years to see the Chiefs dominance, probably not worth bragging about...

Let it ever be thus.

He has lovely eyelashes, though.

This is America! Everyone has the right to be an idiot.

Fat men need love, too...they look for ladies who like bouncy bouncy.

You are most welcome. I understand tar and feathers are available for those special "away" games. Feathers are five bucks a bag, and tar's going for around twenty a gallon. Happy tossing!

Dwayne Bowe on the trade market?

In a radio interview, Kansas City general manager Scott Pioli strongly denied a rumor that the Chiefs talked about trading franchise receiver Dwayne Bowe last week.

I fully expect Bowe to eventually sign his tender or sign an extension by the July deadline and be with the Chiefs this season. The fact that he is not going to the team’s organized team activities is really not that big of deal and common practice.

Pioli’s strong denial is another indication Bowe is in the team’s plans.

I think he said the chiefs dominance has been pretty recent. In regards to the donkeys anyway.

Um... well, the facts (according to profootballreference.com) are as follows:

2011: 1-1
2010: 1-1
2009: 1-1
2008: 1-1
2007: 2-0 Broncos

I'm just not seeing any "dominance" there; Chefs have 4 wins in 5 seasons; Broncos have 6.

Oh... and for the record, the previous 5 seasons are exactly the same...

2006: 1-1
2005: 1-1
2004: 1-1
2003: 1-1
2002: 2-0 Broncos.

So if "recent" is defined as "the last decade"... KC has 8 wins; Denver has 12. If 8-12 is "dominance", please "dominate" us some more.

Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe not expected back soon
Fri, 01 Jun 2012 22:40:22 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel did not seem to think WR Dwayne Bowe would be in camp any time soon. "We're going to win with whoever we have," Crennel said. "If he's with us, we'd like that to happen. If he 's not, then we're going to work with the guys we've got here." Bowe isn't participating in organized team activities (OTAs) since he is an unsigned franchise player.

Guess we don't know what Bowe's salary demands are. If he's pushing for a contract not far off from Megatron's new deal, I could see Pioli's reluctance. But his absence will hurt the receiving core significantly if it lasts through training camp and the preseason.

It's always confused the hell out of me that Kansas City fans would actually go around talking smack about anything related to their football team. I just can't wrap my brain around the thought process behind it.

I mean, surely nobody goes around in real life bragging about the Chiefs, right? What would they have to brag about that's happened in the past three decades? Maybe that's why there are those who seek out opponent message boards to attempt smack talk on: the anonymity of the internet makes it the only place safe to do so.

Shananahan

I get that some people are fans of the team and don't hold that against them. There are all kinds of acceptable- if not tragic- reasons for being one (incest, fetal alcohol syndrome, excessive masochistic tendencies, etc). I just don't understand the mentality where you think have to the right, much less the obligation, to talk smack on the topic of football.

I'll admit that Denver hasn't won much in the past decade (though we've been much more successful than Kansas City), but I'm not running around wasting my time and the time of others' being a pathetic nuisance on a Kansas City message board pretending my team is something they're not, either.

The entire AFC West has been below average since the Raiders went to the SB.

I mean c'mon. Every team has had pathetic meltdowns in the playoffs.

Chargers have had 14 wins and lost, they beat Manning and then lost.
Chiefs have had home field advantage and lost.
Broncos had homefield advantage in the AFC Championship game and blew it.
Raiders, well they just haven't even made the playoffs since then.

The Seahawks made the freaking SB (that they got screwed over on). They've been more relevant than our entire division.
