So we can pencil you guys in for 4 to 6 wins then since that's what he is good for.

John Fox has 3 winning seasons in his 11 year coaching career, which Brokeback mt fans think is awesome, apparently.

I never said anything about Fox being Awesome but since you brought it up didn't one of those years include a SB appearance he almost won with Jake Delhomme at QB?

And you beat a team with Palko at QB for the rest of the game and our best players hurt. There's no glory in that.

Trust me, we don't crow about beating the Chiefs....they're just a squashed bug on the windshield that is our season.

We only bring up victories over your scrub franchise because you tout them as being a good franchise despite not playing in SB for 42 years (My God! Rocks don't live that long) and wanna point to 7-3 victories over us as proof of Chief dominance.

KCSheepstud's MO:

Step 1: Make a stupid comment

Step 2: Be Ridiculed as comment is easily dismissed.

Step 3: Ignore rebuttal and change subject to something even more stupid.

Step 4: Be ridiculed some more.

Step 5: Attack another team for something your own team is even worse at.

Step 6: See arguments shredded into little tiny pieces.

Step 7: Do not acknowledge. Continue to change subject hoping the others get too tired to waste their time.

Step 8: Declare victory

Yes he has three seasons his teams finished at 8-8 out of 10 years as a HC. Also has a 6-4 playoff record. With the six wins in the playoffs, Fox has won more playoff games than the Chiefs have since that magical run in 1969.

Well KC has winning record against all AFCW teams in regular season. Regular season doesn't mean crap though in the long run. Where does KC stand in the division with playoff wins? This is hilarious. You may want to delete this swing and miss. Since 72 the broncos have a WINNING record against the chiefs. Since you are too stupid I'll explain this deeper. The year 1972 is 40 years ago. As other OMers in here have pointed out, and even gave you a link of a list of those games, I suggest you don't look like an idiot in your next post.

Uh about your own team. Broncos fans were on the point of Russian roulette in the early to mid 90's because they thought Elway would never win a SB.

Back then, yeah, I was scared that Elway might choke in the big game, but I had absolute confidence that he could at least win a few playoff games and get there.

Do you want to examine Elway's playoff games in the early to mid 90's?

1991 divisional: 19-33, 257, 1 TD, 0 int. also, Drive II.
1991 AFCCG: 11-21, 121, 0 TD 1 int. Elway was injured somewhere around halftime.
1993 divisional: 29-47, 302, 3 TD, 1 int.
1996 divisional: 25-38, 226, 2 TD, 0 int.

This represents the dark era of Elway's career - this was about as bad as it got.

Let's compare that to the best playoff game Matt Cassel ever started:

2010 divisional: 9-18, 0 td, 3 int.

How can you possibly have any confidence in your QB? How can a rational observer think the early-mid 90 Broncos to the modern era Chiefs are comparable?

The reason that's important is that everyone else has a rumor of some kind. Matt Forte has openly talked about wanting to get a deal to get done for once with the Bears. Tyvon Branch actually signed his deal with the Raiders. While it doesn't appear that Anthony Spencer will get a new deal with the Cowboys, his agent is at least acknowledging the situation publicly.

As for Bowe? There's no word at all. No acknowledgement of any deadline. No worries displayed. No hopes expressed. If a long-term deal was being put into place, then perhaps the silence is an implication that the parties involved are extremely busy and there's no need to talk about something that will have a press release of its own timing.

If Pioli chases Bowe out of town, he's going to wind up getting fired.

He's been doing stupid things for months now, though, so I expect him to continue that trend.

What most people don't realize is Bowe is off to the best start in franchise history for a wide receiver. More catches, yards and TDs per game than Otis Taylor. He's even ahead of Tony Gonzalez's pace.

This is with the following quarterbacks:

Huard
Croyle
Thigpen
Cassel
Palko

He would be a 1,500-yard wide receiver every year with someone like Matt Ryan or Jay Cutler throwing the ball. He's #6 in receiving yards the last two seasons.

But don't pay him. Cassel will be good with Jon Baldwin and Steve Breaston. Hilarious!

I think Bowe is going to have the franchise all year. I think Pioli wants to see what he has in Baldwin before giving Bowe the big deal, which I think is a good idea since Baldwin has looked great in OTA's.

I think Baldwin can be a pretty good weapon. His hands are far better than Bowe's and he wants to get better.

Bowe is an elite WR on a team like ATL, SD, CHI, etc with good QB's. I just don't think he's worth what Fitzgerald or Megatron got.

What if Baldwin has a great year and puts up numbers similar to Bowe's rookie season (1,000 yards/5 TD's)? Would you still give Bowe that money? I wouldn't.

If that were the case I'd trade Bowe and use the 1st rd pick we got for him to get Tyler Wilson or Tyler Bray in April.

You're funny Bob. Bowe will play this year. He isn't going to sit out all year and miss out on $9.5 million dollars. If he does that he has to hope that his next contract is double in the first couple years to make up for that year of no money from sitting out.

He's gonna play this year. He may not be there for training camp, but he'll be playing at some point.

Living in KC, I have seen the rationalizing that has been going on

First when the lost Carr it was "Oh well he always wanted to play for Dallas anyways, so no way we could of kept him despite having tons of cap"

Then when Manning tells them he is not interested it was "Oh its a good thing, now we can use all the cash we would of given him on several other players"

Then when then didnt make a big FA splash it became "We won the division 2 years ago and have one of the most talented teams in the NFL anyways except for the qb position, we only needed Hillis and Winston"

Apparently now the opinion is that Denver is some sort of expansion team, and Manning's neck will explode by the 2nd game of the season

While I think KC has a solid team, they are all overrating the crap out of their team here in an effort to downplay the Manning signing

Cant wait for the season to start

There was no way we'd keep Carr. I think any team would rather use that money on their LT and #1 WR instead of their #2 CB. How many teams would pay $100 million total dollars combined to your starting CB's?

And while KC didn't get Manning, they still had a good free agency period and have a strong team overall that's deep.

Manning was a great signing, but the OL and defense in general is still suspect.

That's what most fan bases do, though. If they had landed Manning, would be talking about winning the Super Bowl, but since he signed in Denver they have doubts whether he could be healthy or not.

Way I see it, if Denver can't beat out the Chiefs--don't deserve to be in the running for a championship which is what this is all about in the end.

No. We (and when I say we, I don't just mean KC) think the team surrounding Manning isn't that great.

You mean "not that great" like his Colts teams who were in the playoff's every year & instantly turned into the worst team in the league without him?

Yea...I think we'll be fine.

No. We (and when I say we, I don't just mean KC) think the team surrounding Manning isn't that great.

That's the way I see the rest of the division. Mediocre at best, and if we don't win it then obviously we weren't good enough to be in the conversation for a title.

And the funny thing with a great QB? You don't need the rest of the team to be great to win the big one. A good core around him, gives you a shot.

I see SD as being the strongest. KC cannot have the injury bug hit them again or it's last place. No idea what Oakland is going to do. Mid year they looked pretty tough then folded bigtime. Dennis Allen could right that ship.

It's pretty much all muddled together with all the teams. And if they are all pretty much the same, I'd rather have Peyton than Rivers Palmer or Cassel.

Oh my... oh, how I laughed reading this:

http://deadspin.com/5926992/why-your-team-sucks-2012-kansas-city-chiefs

1. "Let's hire the Battletoad!" When you're evaluating a potential head coaching prospect who has a career record of 26-41, it's usually best to not focus on a single victory that came out of that otherwise horrible record. I think it's very sweet that the Chiefs managed to buck up and foil the Packers' unbeaten season last December, but you don't go planning your goddamn FUTURE around that one serendipitous moment. Romeo Crennel was a good coach that game. For the other 66 games in his career, he's been a ****TY coach. That massive heap of failure tends to override everything else. But no, the Chiefs were just like, "You beat the Packers! OUR NATURAL RIVALS! Here's your contract HERPY DERP DERP."

2. Peyton Hillis will inevitably find a way to piss everyone off. I hate Peyton Hillis, mostly because I drafted Jerome Harrison in my 2010 fantasy draft, figuring he'd continue to play well after hanging 286 yards and three TDs against these same Chiefs in late 2009. Instead, WHITE ANUSFACE here bogarted all the carries, had a great season from some other dick who plucked him off of waivers (it's always some other guy who gets the good waiver pickup), and then spent 2011 going to absolute ****. He nursed injuries. He snubbed kids at charity functions (will no one think of the children?). Then he got his ass run straight out of town. And now Hillis will fulfill the Thomas Jones role of vulturing carries from Jamaal Charles and causing you to shriek WHY IS THAT a-hole ON THE FIELD after Charles helps the Chiefs drive all the way down to the five yard line and is then immediately subbed out. The Chiefs find themselves relying on two Browns castoffs—Crennel and Hillis—to help them win in 2012. Why not add Derek Anderson to the mix, to finish the job? YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.

3. Hiring anyone away from the Patriots who is not named Bill Belichick is a ****ing horrible idea. I don't know how many times a Belichick underling has to monkeyfart his way through a new job before NFL people finally say to themselves, "You know what? Maybe Belichick lackeys are terrible at coaching football." Here is the murderer's row of idiots who have taken big jobs after working under the King of All Hobos:

• Charlie Weis
• Romeo Crennel
• Josh McDaniels
• Scott Pioli
• Bill O'Brien
• Eric Mangini

Out of that illustrious group, it will shock you to learn that Weis—of all people—is the only one to compile a winning record since leaving New England. And while O'Brien has yet to coach a game at Penn State, I think it's more than fair to deem his judgment questionable for leaving the NFL to take over a program that now barely exists. Anyone with a brain knew that Penn State was going to have a rotten rest of the decade. And he took the job anyway! What an idiot. The Belichick coaching tree is mighty oak whose leaves are all dead and shriveled. Unless you can lure the MILF Hunter himself away from Foxboro, importing your leadership from New England is a remarkably bad strategy. Denny Green has a more successful coaching tree. I'm not even kidding. And the Chiefs now have Belichick cronies at both head coach AND GM. You won't find a more humorless, paranoid way to go 5-11.

By the way, I'll always be tickled by Joe Posnanski writing this comically fawning piece on Pioli (he only drafts team captains!), only to have Pioli be accused of mentally abusing employees thirteen months later. He builds teams THE RIGHT WAY.

4. Matt Cassel is still there. ANOTHER Patriots castoff! Holy ****, it's like a compulsion at this point. We need to stop the Chiefs from hoarding so many useless items from the Foxboro attic. Otherwise, two years from now, they'll have signed Brian Hoyer and Kyle Arrington and Sammie Morris and Bill O'Brien and you'll need people in Hazmat suits to come clean up the mess because it will reek of mold and fungus and barbecue sauce and REPUGNANT ****ING FAILURE.

5. A Chiefs fan chimes in. Reader Jason R.:

Chiefs Fan here... here are some reasons why the Chiefs suck, though we all still think we are going to the playoffs this year

• Because they let Brandon Carr walk so we would have money to sign Dwayne Bowe to a long term deal. Only now they're gonna let Bowe leave after this season to go to some ****ty team like Miami because they think Jon Baldwin is gonna be a Pro Bowler. Jon Baldwin: the guy who only has 21 catches and 1 touchdown and broke his hand fighting Thomas Jones. Even if Baldwin becomes a Pro Bowler, they ignore the logic that having two Pro Bowl Wide Receivers is better than having one.
• Our biggest triumphs this past offseason was not making Josh McDaniels our offensive coordinator.
• Because of THIS.
• Pioli said he was going to bring in competition for the quarterback, so he signed Brady Quinn
• Oh, and Matt Cassel sucks.

Oakland is two steps below everyone else. SD, KC and Denver are fairly even with Denver getting the nod.

Denver 9-7
S.D. 9-7
KC 8-8
Oakland 7-9

He's clearly not recovered from his knee injury, just like Jamaal.

The Chiefs are just a mess right now though. Pioli has to be fired after this year with the way things are going. The fans are done with Clark and he knows it. This team continues playing like this and Clark's gonna see multiple blackouts in November and December when it's cold and wet outside.

I just don't see how Pioli stays after this year? The Chiefs and their fans have completely lost touch. It's like everybody has finally woke up and realized that we just can't take anymore.

I think Clark wants to win. He doesn't have that burning passion that you see from owners like Jerry Jones which is sad.
Pioli was a grand slam hire in the eyes of the entire league in 2009. But now it's just sad.

I never, ever, ever, ever, EVER thought I would say this, but I would take King Carl over this catastrophe right now. It's just sad.

Things can change quickly in the NFL. KC wins @NO and they're still going to have a very excited stadium against SD the following week. As much as I'd love for it to become a two team race between us and SD, wouldn't count out KC yet.

I'd be surprised to see Pioli get fired as well, simply because he supposedly does a good job making money for the team, or that seems to be the belief (by those that think they're in the know like Kent Babb, Sam Mellinger, etc)

Still, if the team continues to get embarrassed and they have a 0-2 win season, it's possible. If fans stop going to games, it is possible.

I live in Kansas City and I can tell you people are fed up. There are the occasional fans who just go because they love to watch, but I can tell you that there is some serious tension between the Chiefs and their fans. Mellinger and Babb's columns, along with Fescoe's rant, have been far more talked about than the Saints game.
The fans are just tired of it. Arrowhead might be mostly full next weekend, but if this keeps up, Clark is losing money because people aren't showing up in the later part of the season.
It happened in 2008 and it will certainly happen again.

Most games I'd agree. But don't think this game is as much about Cassel as it is the two defenses. Both are terrible, and Cassel will have openings down field the whole game. Granted he sucks, and I doubt he wills KC to victory... but he's never going to get a better opportunity to get a road win against an elite QB, then this.

Yeah, they're definitely mad and if it continues, then something will be done. I still think KC has too much talent to be a 0-3 win team though, which is probably what it would take for real change to happen in KC

If KC gets 7-9 wins, fans are still going to be there to support them... even if there chances of winning the title in the near future are basically zero

Bull****. You "predicted" the suck just to cover your bases. If they sucked, you could make the above post. If they were good, you could ignore your prior prediction and bathe in the glory of not sucking. Win-win for you, eh Boob?

I spent the entire offseason at Chiefsplanet pounding it into people's heads that we were a 7-9 team.

Sadly, I dont think it is rationality at all. I think Boob is suffering from Stockholm Syndrome from spending so much time on the Mane.

Did you fight in World War 2 as well?

You're thinking of the Chiefs' last playoff appearance.

If this guy saw their SB, he must've fought in the Civil War...

The Chiefs play has surprised me a little. I expected play like the Browns had. Lots of close games, but losing most of them. I knew Crennel would make the team soft, but I didn't expect it this soon.

Just wait, it is only a matter of time until Crennel turns back the clock and starts Quinn.

He is going to be turning that dial back a long time to find a time when Quinn was worth a broke dick at QB.

I doubt Pioli gets fired after this season, no matter what the record is for kc. Cassel will be dumped of course but then kc will either have to draft a first round QB or bring in a FA QB. I doubt kc ownership will want to start over with a new FO during this time period. More likely Pioli will be responsible for bringing in the right QB and the right coach to make it all work.

Now, if I was kc ownership I'd fire Pioli and his nazi ways. I'd hire a seasoned GM who could help me assemble a great coaching staff and draft a franchise QB.

I really do hope kc drafts Barkley. I think he's another USC fool's gold first round QB bust. Plus, his name is Matt as in Matt Lienart, Matt Cassel, Matt Millan, so many winner Matts it's just gotta work, right?

Right now it's looking like the ceiling is 4 wins, not the floor.
I severely doubt Clark is gonna let Pioli have 3 head coaches in 2 years time. Plus I think Clark would hate paying 3 coaches at the same time, while still paying Pioli the most money of any GM in the league. Clark would save money by getting rid of Pioli.

I know some of you won't believe this, but I think Clark is a good owner. I think he does care and has shown that he won't tolerate no results when he forced Carl to resign.
People say that Clark is cheap, but Clark has given his checkbook to Pioli. He's cleared him to spend money. Pioli is just using that money on the wrong players (Cassel and Jackson are fine examples).

I think the big question is "who could Pioli hire next"? Nobody wanted to work with him this last offseason. Pioli is known as a rude power hungry GM.
The only coaches he's brought in were from his Patriots tree and father-in-law. He only has the Patriots tree left, so the only Patriots coach he could replace Romeo with would be Josh McDaniels, and there is no way Pioli would hire him. He thought about it in January and knew that nobody in this town would support it.

The Chiefs have spent high draft choices on DL that don't do much and haven't done much this season either. Their OL isn't the best either and we know their QB just isn't that good either. Basically they are a soon to be 0-3 for a reason. They stink.
