"I came out here for a week during the lockout, and he opened the Rockies' facility to me," Manning recalled. "There's no way I could've let a baseball player in our facility for a week during the NFL season. And he said: 'Here, have at it.' For the friend he was to me on that, I'm grateful."

I'm guessing that was a big part of the equation, having Helton and Stokely living here. I was saying through the whole process, where would you rather go, where your pals live, or where your in-laws live?

Our city has been blessed to have watched Todd Helton play baseball here. I so wish he would win a world title here. He's easily in my top-5 favorite athletes.

The idea of Helton catching a curl had me laughing.

This. It may sound corny but it made me so happy to see Todd so happy during that run in 2007.

I'm a Dodgers fan, and I want to see Helton win one.
