Peyton Manning throwing in practice session Monday near Denver
blogs.denverpost.com

Manning practiced Monday at a Denver suburban-area high school in a non-team sanctioned throwing session.

Here they are, the first photos of Peyton Manning working out in Denver Broncos gear. Still surreal, right? According to Lindsay Jones, Manning worked out with J.D. Walton, Eric Decker, and Julius Thomas; Decker told LJ his injured knee is healing well, and he'll be ready for OTAs.

Of course, CBA rules prevent these guys from practicing together at Dove Valley and receiving coaching, so expect this to be a daily occurrence.

No, but he was pushed 6 yards into the backfield by a mild breeze on a couple of plays.

yeah but even with balky knees Elway was still more mobile than Manning ever has been. though i will admit that his QB bootlegs in the red zone at Tennessee were brilliant strategy because no one expected him to run.

that said, i remember something that scouts used to say about Brady Quinn before he came out for the draft. he was far too concerned with being the strongest and buffest guy on the team but while that looks great at the combine it doesn't help him improve his essential QB skills.
the first off the bus look isn't as important as the skill set for a QB.

Most American guys are 5'9" - 5'10" - 220 - 250 pounds and at one time were the greatest athletes ever. Now they are still capable of kicking any pro athlete's ass but choose not to do so because they know everything about every sport ever and by making that vast store of knowledge available on the 'net and talk radio, they share their gift with the known idiots that coach and play all the sports and with society at large. We are humbled by their greatness and thankful that they deem us worthy to share.

If they were to get into coaching it would violate the Americans with Disabilities Act by putting all those idiots who know less than they out of work.

Oh, and they all have 8 inch peckers and get laid by super models every night.

Saw a poster on another board that met DT yesterday at a meet and greet and his pinky was wrapped up. Said he just had the plates taken out from last season when he broke it and that it was still pretty tender but improving.

So I'm guessing when it isn't so sore he'll hopefully meet up with Manning and get a workout in.

The top academic school in the Rocky Mountain region, and they're really starting to make a name for themselves athletically, too. I want to send my kids to VCHS, but I better start saving now... tuition there is like $15,000 a year.

Lestat
03-26-2012, 04:29 PM
the dream size for a NFL franchise QB is 6-4 220+ that why you see draft experts use the "prototypical NFL QB size" when they talk about guys that are 6-4 220+ and refer to guys that are 6-2 200 as small.

most NFL QB aren't buff but they're in general kinda big.
Most QBs are not that buff generally are they? I heard Plummer described as puny and unrecognizable outside his gear. Jay didn't exactly look huge. it's never looked weird to me but i guess that's because i was watching some stuff on him a few years back explaining why he holds the ball so high and has the release point that he does. the basic explanation was that by having the ball so high it lessens the chances of the D forcing a fumble and allows him to have a sick and almost inhuman ability to get the ball out quickly and not have a lot of batted balls.
Peyton's high release has always looked awkward (to me) in still pictures, especially when taken from a front angle. Though it's a nice advantage when the ball is leaving his hand about 8 feet off the ground.
