Old, but still very productive. He may want to come to Denver on the cheap (cheaper than if he stayed in WASH)to be a part of what could very well be something special here in Orange heaven!

Well that explains why we didn't go for a young FA stud.

Mays-ST stud....Irving can compete with Fletcher for playing time at MLB.....

they can't invest that type of money into one position.

If he is cheap you can't go wrong with fletcher, the guy plays his heart out. Best skins defender the last few years IMO.

I want David Hawthorne. One of the best kept MLB secrets.. Trade or keep Mays for depth.

Mays was fairly expensive "insurance". For a little more $ they could have gotten somebody who could play a little. And yes, Fletcher would have been a good 1 year rental but I think the Skins hope to keep him.

Stand pat. Don't go nuts. We have a handful of rooks who got no pre-season camp last year. Perhaps the staff believes they can develop with a full offseason. Both Safeties and Irving may very well be the answer at their respective positions. Same w/ the TEs...who do seem to be bigger projects, however.

I really hope both you and they are right. But I worry about Irving because the guy couldn't even get on the field last season. Him and Raheem Moore. Ugh.

I hated the Moore pick from the start, so I dunno if I believe the offseason is an excuse, but I guess if it's good for one, it should be good for him too. I'm not concerned about Irving...yet. I actualy like Carter a lot and Schlereth has made comments about Julius Thomas's clear athletic prowess showing in practices.

damn I didn't realize Fletcher was THAT old

and if Mays is "just insurance" in case Irving can't take the job, then why the hell are we paying him $4 million guaranteed?

Only a retard would be concerned that Irving didn't see the field as a third round rookie who didn't have a regular time span to develop in comparison in other years.

The Broncos aren't signing a FA MLB. Joe and Nate are the guys. I bet they draft a WOLB in the top three rounds.

These next 2 seasons are not about cultivating talent.... It's about putting all your marbles in one basket and swinging for the fences....londOn fletcher in best player available. We need to reach out at the very least and gauge interest

Agreed...I'd like to see Keenan Robinson from Texas in the 3rd or 4th.

Robinson has a lot of talent -- and I think he will be there in the third. I was surprised he fell into the fourth in our OM Mock Draft. I like his size in comparison to guys like Spence and David and I think he is a good fit for the team.

I LOVE David, but just too small for what we need. With Von and Doom being a bit lite, we really can't afford to be much smaller across the front 7...especially if DJ doesnt win appeal.

Then again...doesn't Fox historically like smallish OLBs? Wasn't one a converted Safety?
