Please bombard his FB page with love.

Dollar for dollar, manning haters will argue he is our best signing so far, which says a lot about him. (I love PM)

Some twitter dude just announced he chose us over his former team, the Texans.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Official-Joel-Dreessen/130001500355780

The Texans absorbed another roundhouse punch in free agency on Friday, when tight end Joel Dreessen left for the Broncos.

Dreessen, who played at Colorado State, visited Denver on Wednesday. He had offers from the Broncos and Texans — a chance to play with Peyton Manning or try to help the Texans win another AFC South title.

this is what pro football focus had to say about him

Joel Dreessen, TE

The injuries to Owen Daniels have quietly allowed Dreessen the opportunity to develop into one of the more complete tight ends in the league. He won’t wow you with his athleticism but he’s player you can count on every down.

Not only can he catch, but he was a vital part of their running attack last year.

Terrific pickup.

Eh

how is this eh by any strectch? because he isn't jimmy graham?

he was probably cheap, he can catch, he can block extremely well... he's a local.. he WANTS to be here. he's not an issue off the field... he's young... he has a cool germanic name... he'll probably drink with fans at bars... he's a better pick up than dallas clark would have been... he's not injury prone... what are you worried about?

This is a great signing and really from out of nowhere! Hadn't even heard he was on the radar. Colorado is a factory for tight ends, it seems.

BTW Bowlen's broke!

Later Lonnie Paxton...freaking loser.

Botched snaps in first NE game...sat out the 2nd.

Yes, Dreessen is a long snapper!!!

This saves us an extra $1M against the cap!!!

I heard he had to borrow the money for these signings from Hat after he made so much betting against the Broncos last year.

Fantastic signing. I'm still wondering what all the panicking was about early on. We're making some quality signings.

1. Joe Mays, the $12M man.

2. Who's playing DT?

The FO still has a TON of work to do man. Work we knew would be needed before the season was even over. We can pray that Irving takes a leap forward to answer MLB but DT is a massive issue still.

Anyhow, Dreessen is a real good signing. He'll be a good starting option while we see if Thomas and Green can develop.

It's because we're not used to the FO exercising restraint. The Shanny years had us in redskin mode. I see the strategy long term as giving us flexibility. That said, sign a ****ing DT at least.

Something is telling me we're developing a new 2-6 defense where we only line up Doom and Von on the edges and then a 6 LB shell around them.

Houston is in real trouble next year IMO. They keep losing guys and morale really seems to be down right now. The two defenders they had on NFL Network looked absolutely pissed and shell shocked and made some interesting comments the other day when it was announced live on air that DeMeco Ryans was traded. This certainly won't help I'm sure.

I understand why they got rid of him (highly paid and not a perfect fit for their 3-4) but I don't understand why they got so little for him. And I'm pissed and bitter because I live near Philly and I hate the Eagles getting good players on the cheap like this! I wish the Broncos would have done it...

I don't see Tamme signing at this point. I think Clark is still a possibility to add a veteran leader who can help immediately and aid in the development of Thomas and Green.

Tamme seems redundant at this point.

I fear John is happy building the O into what he had back in 96-98 and hoping we can hide our D issues with scoring early and often.

Personally I still it is still early in FA, so far they upgraded to a real QB (who even 80% of what he was was a better pure passer than Tebow), now TE, CB#2, they almost had to sign Mays just for depth. We are still in the running for Clark and Saturday and the MLB from Ravens. Our roster was so low that it allows EFX to turn over the players they evaluated last year, keep the ones they want and make the team better by getting guys like Dreessen.

We still have a lot of FA to go, the Draft where we can land a couple rotational DT's and then there is the TC/PS cuts should there be a dude out there they want but don't want to over pay for.

I am glad they are not running around getting into bidding wars and driving up the cost of the guys they are bringing in. Plus now FA's see the commitment to winning EFX has shown and now they are seeking us out and coming in maybe a little cheaper.

Great moves all offseason, I just hope Mannings nerve damage allows him to play with no setbacks.

Have you looked at our defensive roster?

They've addressed two of our needs there: #2 corner and safety. Obviously, we still need DTs and another LBer, but jeezum, what exactly do you expect? They can't address EVERY void in our roster in one week.

They'll get there. Give it at least SOME time.

No reason the Texans would trade him to an AFC rival when you can get the pick from the Eagles.

Dude you realize we can now use draft picks for more young defenders right? Stop being a turd and get on board. The Broncos are going to be really good this yr.

Broncos can use most of those first day picks on defensive talent.

yeah, exactly

and we REALLY don't want to have to fix every position through FA, the front office has said as much so aside from a couple signings (hoping at DT since we are so light) we all may as well just be happy with what we have and prepare to build through the draft like good teams do

I am thrilled so far with our FA signings
