am i way off base, or is there a chance they invite Brandon into camp now that Manning is here? he lives here. he is coming off an injury, but he's a free agent and we don't have a slot receiver. i don't know what we'll do between now and camp to address that need, but it seems like a no-brainer to me. of course, he's 36 now, so maybe not.

he'd be a good signing to help implement the new offense for mini/training camp. But I don't see him making the final 53.

You think Matt Willis, D'Andre Goodwin, Jason Hill, and Mark Dell....would all beat out Stokely? LOL no way. Bring him in/no brainer...he can teach the WR corps how to interface/run routes/change routes/what to look for in a Peyton Manning Offense.

You have to sign: Saturday (to teach the OL), Tamme/Clark (to teach the TE's), and Stokely (to teach the WR's). All would also be upgrades at their position on the Broncos roster.

I like Stokley though, just not as a reveiver for this team.

.

I would say eventually one of those guys or a draft pick would emerge by the end of camp and Stoke's will be released.

I was thinking the same thing. His value as a player coach to help implement the system could be critical. We have dick for WR depth after Decker and D.T. I think Willis has some potential, but definitely not sold on him. Hell, I think they should bring in Stokley, and draft a slot receiver to learn from him.

Player/coach? League minimum? Doesn't make the final 53? Who knows, maybe he takes up coaching? Works for me.

At this point he is not better than what we had. Remember when we signed Jerry Rice, and he had trouble making the roster. Same situation except Stokley is no Rice.

That said, Stokley is a great student of the game and a smart guy. Wouldn't mind bringing him in as a WRs coach, as our WRs have regressed under Tolbert.

I've always seen Stokley coaching. WRs coach.... Grooming him for offensive coordinator?

Hell, why not? Remember Jimmy Spencer playing CB and taking over the role of DBs coach in 2002? Of course we had the 29th ranked pass defense that year and he was replaced by Gibbs's son the next year. Still, it could happen.

One? All of them have to emerge, for Stokely to be released. Outside of DT/Decker, that IS our receiver corp.

2012 Dream WR's:

1. Mike Wallace
2. DT
3. Decker
4. Marvin McNutt
5. Matt Willis
6. Brandon Stokely

...You have to sign:
Saturday (to teach the OL), I definately agree with this and think it's very important
Tamme/Clark (to teach the TE's), and not as important as O-line, but I'd like one of them
Stokely (to teach the WR's). I don't think this is necessary. I think the receivers need to work with Manning for timing. But there shouldn't be much to teach

i think Stokley in a mentor role as a bridge between Manning and the young receivers would be a good thing.

That might be true.. but the window for a SuperBowl run is now.... not building for 2-3 years now. So I bet if Stokley can still play.. and he still has a connection with Manning then I bet he makes the team.

Sorry, soured on Stokley after the revelations that he and Orton were mocking Tebow when Teebs was a rookie. Don't need that kind of mockery in our locker room.

Nah... all I'm saying is that Peyton Hills is the real second coming of Ed McCaffery.
