Living out of state and traveling, I've noticed that everyone's had an opinion on the Broncos since January 1st 2009, because there's something juicy to talk about. There's always a story in the sports headlines, if not national headlines, and for good reason:

- Future HOF coach Mike Shanahan Fired
- Pro-Bowl QB traded after clash with owner/coach
- The Cinderella 6-0 team
- Tim Tebow drafted in the 1st round
- McDaniels meltdown, cheating.
- Tim Tebow x2
- Tim Tebow x1000
- Peyton F'ing Manning

That's a lot of drama for 3 years. And these stories aren't one-offs, they're debated and discussed for months at a time. Not just by sports-talk types, or people who follow sports, but people who read the front page of google news.

I don't see anyone talking about the Chiefs like this, or the Rams or Raiders or Cardinals. I don't even see people talking this much about good teams, like the Ravens, Falcons or even Giants. And during the last 3 years, we've gone 8-8, 4-12, 9-9.

Are we truly the most exciting, drama-filled team in the NFL, or has the *coast media bias ended?

Denver makes perpetual mediocrity fun. We're like the Browns, but with more pizazz.

...and a richer history with more success.

I can't remember a time in my life that not only has the NFL got so much coverage up here, but one team. It's nearly the NHL playoffs and yet daily they still find time to talk Tebow, Manning, Broncos on the major sports broadcasters up here.

Major Browns stories for the last 3 years:

- Staph infections
- Peyton Hillis (a Broncos story re-run)
- Their QB has a cool name

thread title should subtract 'Drama/Media', and I agree.

No.

The Broncos are the #1 drama/media team in all of professional sports.

Seriously, is there a baseball, hockey, or basketball team that has consistently dominated SportsCenter more over the last two years?

Denver gets no media coverage. East coast bias.

The Broncos are a joke as far as how they are managed and that creates stories. It's not a good thing...

Used to be true, but not any more. Remember SportsCenter becoming TebowCenter for one night last season? Remember the fight over whether one of our later games would be flexed or not.

No, now the East Coast bias has shifted -- they cover us, they just don't like us....

Only if you view the Broncos that way

i kinda liked the tebow circus this year because before that we barely got talked about on tv. it was nice to know what it feels like to be the new england patriots. just waking up and turning the tv on and one of the many sports stations had something to say about tebow and the broncos lol.

I told all of you that this is how it would be for a few years as you all supported McDaniels. You all got your wish.

ESPN lives and dies by their NYC and Boston coverage.

that said, the period from Shanny's firing to today has put the Broncos in the spotlight alot for all the wrong reasons. i wish it would stop. if we're going to be in the news, i'd rather it be for good things.

You can't judge by this forum, which is full of whiners, but the reason the Broncos are always in the news is because they refuse to give up. They make one dramatic change, it falls flat, and they try another. And another, and another, and another, until they get back on top. Mistakes are meaningless. They are footprints in the sand on the way to victory.

I was reading a piece a couple of weeks ago about JK Rowling shopping Harry Potter around. Twenty publishers told her, "No thanks." Who wants to read about some kid going to wizard school? People want vampires. Write a vampire book. The experts told her, "We know what the market wants, and they don't want that." Now she's the richest woman in Britain.

Everybody knows how to do it, except the people who are doing it. Ha!

True, this is not a team afraid of radical change. It paid off a few months ago with a playoff win, and I can't wait for more.
